Thank you for your reaction to Diana Ankudinova. Diana actually turned 16 on 31st May 2019, but was indeed 15 at the time of this performance. The show she is on here is Ты супер! (translated as "You are Super") and it is for children who have found themselves without parental care at some point in life. According to the programme, Diana was abused by her biological mother until around the age of 3 years, and ended up in an orphanage. While there, a massage nurse named Irina Ponik took care of her, and a strong bond was formed, to the extent that a year afterward Diana was adopted by Irina, and Irina has been her "Mom" ever since. It seems that for the first year or so Diana would hardly speak, and singing lessons were recommended, and the rest is history. Diana is now with a loving family, and her music training goes from strength to strength. Since winning the show, she has received much support from Igor Krutoy, who was on the judges panel the previous year, and who is one of Russia's foremost composers and song writers. You may have seen him play piano for Dimash sometimes. Diana's cover of "Rechenka" a Russian folk song, on the same show in 2018 - in which she was only 14 - is something else, and very much worth watching. Hi Caleb! Thanks for Diana! She really is a unique child. Diana began to sing at the age of 5 on the advice of doctors,as due to the cruel abuse of the biological mother almost could not speak. Foster mother took her to the vocal Studio and now we all have the joy of hearing this miracle! Now Diana has a beautiful loving family and she is passionate about creativity and education.Such a deep voice and this incredible tone I have not heard at all. A bit like cher and Tony Braxton.Diana has an excellent command of yodel technique and gorol singing of the indigenous peoples of Altai (Eastern regions of Russia) Watch her performances "Rechenka", "This male, male world", "Human" "tomorrow", etc

In recent years, more and more singing prodigy surprised us since the age of 6 or 7 years old (Celine Tam, Esang of Torres, Angelina Jordan...), but also some outstanding teenagers (TNT boys, Courtney Hadwin, Daneliya Tuleshova...).
Among teenagers, I think Diana is the most amazing of all ! Her personality, her maturity, her versatility, her unique voice, her dramatic control, assure us she will be one of the greatest stars on international scale.

Diama sings since she had 5 years old. She started to sing for learning how to speak. She had terrible life story in her childhood. This is a happiness that she survived then and now she is happy girl, thanks Lord for this 🙂.

Her mother had 6 children before Diana, all of them died. Diana was like Maugl, little unhappy puppy with mother-alkoholist without even minimum care. This woman wanted to kill our girl. 3 years old, with broken bones in the winter siberian street. It was a miracle that Diana survived. Childhome and after adoptation. Good woman-adopter. This is short description of Diana's childhood.

When you see the performances of her at even younger age you realice she born as a star. She lives to sing and she sings to life. Everytime i see her it make me feel that she is being greatefull whit life
This song was perfect for her voice. Her voice gives me a sad feeling that she has sadness in her being also. Very haunting - echoes of Enya in the arrangement. Fabulous set design that works perfectly with the arrangement. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

The first time I saw this video pop up on YT, I kinda raised my eyebrows... was already intrigued. I am a huge Chris Isaak fan and have been listening to him since this song dropped. He has a terrific range and the thought of a young female singing those low notes had me clicking on it quick. I was not disappointed... she's amazing. I'm looking forward to watching her grow as an artist.
I know what you mean! I met Chris Isaak once actually. Breifly while he was in Australia being a judge for a singing competition over here. He wouldn't remember me most likely but it was cool for me and I won't forget it :) Really cool guy and fantastic singer.

In US this is equivalent to the title "Living Legend". I think, there are only 2 vocal maximums: "Alien" Dimash and "Goddess of the Nature" Diana.
Pronunciation: It's pronounced in 2 ways, Die-Anna (hebrew/english) and Dee-Anna (latin and russian same)

I think "Little river" is not quite the correct translation of the word "rechenka" , it is rather the affectionate name of the word "river". Volga river can also be called my "rechenka"

I was very happy to see you reviewing this performance. Your critiques are always spot on. Since this competition Diana is now under the guidance and strong support of Igor Krutoy (one of the judges here) which puts her in the proximity also of Dimash (who also works closely with Igor). Hopefully, we'll see them all tour together someday. What a wonderful turn of events for the world of music. Diana's stunning tone with her lowered larynx and deep pitch is equally as mesmerizing as Dimash's incredible range and angelic high notes. The possibilities there are mind boggling. Please to a reaction to Diana's "Rechenka'. You won't regret it. It is other worldly.
@@evgeniyushkalov8899 I apologize if I was incorrect on the association. I've seen her in a later post that showed Igor accompanying her on piano. And, I heard about the apartment and schooling deal. I guess I assumed incorrectly from that . . . although others have insinuated a connection in their comments on her work. Let's just say I'm a big fan and think it would be wonderful if those three great talents were ever to work together. Thank you for putting the record straight.

Hi Caleb, Diana is fantastic and really unique with her vocal timbre. His song that I enjoy the most is "yodel time". If you noticed the last judge who pushed the button (the bald gentleman), it is the grandiose Ygor Krutoj, pianist and composer who collaborates with Lara Fabian, Dimash and others. In other videos you will see him play also for Diana: he is the one who wrote '' Ogni Pietra '' for the Olympic Games in Minsk adapting it to be sung by the Prince Dimash.
Many of us say that Dimash and Diana are brother and sister from planet named Di 😜
My 2 favorite artists right now, for sure.

A great reaction. Thank you. Try her first audition "Derniere Danse" in french (original by french singer Indila). It was phenomenal in my eyes, her voice, the arrangement and the stage presence. After this try out "Rechenka" a russian folk song. A bit creepy, but very interesting. And have in mind, that you hear her singing in 3 different languages, with a very good ear for the sound of the languages. This alone is remarkable for a 15 year old. She sings also in german and spanish. Crazy.

my favorite? Rechenka- from what I understand from one Russian's explaination- it is a traditional folk song about an orphan bride, who finds herself alone- even though she is in a room full of people she feels no connection. She goes to the river's edge where the spirits are to converse with her dead mother (the gravely voice is supposed to be her mother's response to her) Very interesting twist she puts on this song. She was 14 yrs old when she performed on this show and just turned 16 yrs old in May. If you notice- the very popular composer who has written recently for Dimash, Igor Krutoy, is one of the judges. I do not doubt he will mentor her also. She was abused as a child and placed in an orphanage. Her foster mom put her in singing lessons to help her speech issues and the rest is history! Dianas voice feels haunting at times but shes so unique and also a great performer that you cant really help being drawn into her performances. I dunno if noticed that the judge that pressed the button last is Igor Krutoy. Probably worth remembering his name and face if ur gonna keep reacting Dimash. I just hope Igor can help Diana with her career as he is now doing with Dimash.

I have been fascinated by this artist. I have been waiting for you to listen to her, because I don’t quite understand what she is doing with her voice. She is an expert at yodeling, which you can hear vestiges of in her video “Recheno”, the River. The unusual sound in her lower register she uses farther up in “Human”. Is it an intentional sound or natural to her? Is she closing off something in her throat. Enquiring minds want to know, because it seems to me she can choose to do it or not. But I could be completely wrong. I put some links below. You might not need to react on TH-cam to the yodeling, but it’s interesting background. She’s even younger on that one.

Btw, that bald guy in judge chair in 2:41 from your video (resp. 1:22 of source video) is Igor Krutoy, very respected and famous russian composer. I would dare to say he is new Tchaikovsky of our era. You may remember him from few Dimash songs, he cooperate with him a lot.
This video is from russian competition series "You are super!". Diana won (obviously :D ) and Igor give her apartment in Moscow (not cheap thing especially in Moscow), that she can study on musical academy and get proper singing training.
