It makes a difference when the boss of a company is actually very passionate and is hands with his products, seems like very high quality production line .... Very cool video...
Just taken delivery of an mpressor (rack unit). Wonderful to see this video and the huge attention to detail and care that’s taken in the process. Really explains the cost (and value) that goes into the end product. Excellent video, facility and company! Bravo!
Thank you! This is really helping me make a final decision as to what I want to put in the last two spaces of my 500 series rack. I would definitely rest well knowing that a piece of Elysia hardware was built with care and attention to the utmost degree of quality to last for many many years!
I forgot there was someone behind the camera for a minute after watching so many of your videos. Great footage. I loved this video. I think you're onto something new here. These guys seem to be very professional at they do. Thanks for taking us on a behind the scenes tour. Looking forward to their products in the near future.
Now that is what I call quality control, everything is tested and re-tested then by listening as well not just relying on machines. I was very impressed with the fact they even machine there own heavy gauge aluminum panels. Even the knob's look precision machined. Every aspect of each device well thought out from manufacture to the feel of the knobs. Thanks for the tour very cool company.
A nice guy with a lot of knowledge making an honest living producing what looks like good custom shop gear. I really like people like that. More power to them, I say, and fuck the suits and snake oil merchants.
First class tour , and impressive manufacturing fac. I especially liked the modular testing and R&D mechanism they have in place and how the different tooling packages can be hot swapped. But it was all cool... great job !!
here in germany, companies don't start in garages... they start in campers, as you can tell by the video. he probably runs his secret lab in there, still. the office is just for show.
Well of Course, there are rooms, especially made for development that have high security locks etc. And of Course you will not be granted Access there. Nothing "german" About that. First of all, why should they Show new products and prototypes, secondly most of the times those elite companies develop for other, "bigger" names in america or asia. And that is top secret.
Wow, awesome video. So interesting to see behind the scenes, would love to see more of these manufacturer vids and I really liked that you asked him about Elysia's vision!
AMAZING video!! This is the stuff I LOVE to see. From the design and test to the build and QC, and the actual use. Excellent stuff from the Elysians and White Sea himself!
I really enjoyed this video. The amazing technology that goes into each stage of production to the final product finally revealed. I especially like the concept of building these products one unit at a time and the reasoning behind it. Great hosting - not too much talking by the host :) Nice job.
Elysia produces great gear. I use their xfilter in my mastering chain and it just does magic to the songs. I use it in every song and its just sweet, or even beyond that!
Do you use it just for color and "small compression" on a mix bus (or in mastering chain, as a flavour...) or also for "hard work" at the end of mastering chain? In another worlds can it "handle the heat when pressed to the wall"? :))
@@arnorijpma6207 Yes, my bad ... Since it's EQ, do you place it before or after comp. and if after, is it easy to "over do it" or you find yourself 99% doing "the right thing"? :)
@@b.hornetiii.6771 Hi, I have it in my mastering chain in the following order: -Drawmer 1973 multiband stereo compressor -SPL Kultube stereo compressor -Elysia xfilter stereo equalizer -TL Audio EQ-2 dual-mono/stereo equaliser -SPL Vitalizer mk 2 stereo enhancer/exciter -IGS Audio Volfram Limiter dual-mono/stereo compressor/limiter Mostly I use the Drawmer, the Elysia, the SPL Vitalizer and the IGS comp/limiter. I never use all, because that is way too much. So mostly one or two compressors, one EQ and sometimes in combination with the enhancer/exciter.
@@b.hornetiii.6771 99% doing the right thing definitely. So after the compressor but before the last compressor/limiter (see my other answer with the mastering chain mentioned).
Wow what an awesome company and product. And very cool they are so confident and secure in their craft that they are willing to show the world how it’s done. And really great job on the interview! Thank you for doing what you do. I loved this. Geeks unite!
amazing stuff ... the textures are so unique ... I have the plugins only but definitely you can distinguish the elysia sound more than any other plugin in the mix ... but it goes further ... I found that textures in nature and my brain recognize it as the elysia sound ... hehe!!
the amount of knowledge in this video ...wow ! I have respect for the engineering going on here!!! I also really appreciate that the Quality control is amazing!
Every part of every unit tested, now that's how you keep up your quality control. Plenty of outfits test the I/0's 1 in every 100 units and call that quality control, this guy is doing it in a very efficient and very nice way. Worth looking into, thanks!
I'll take production workflow pointers from directors of such companies, gratefully. I always had a feeling there might be an Elysium/electronic music connection. Killer sound, Ruben :)
Wow! This guy kicks ass! What a genius! I only wish I had the brain and the setup he does. Must be nice to be so great at what you do and to be able to make a living doing it.
Really good! Every detail of facilitation of production is well thought out and the attention to detail is excellent. Very impressive. I would not hesitate to purchase an Elysia product.
I wish you would have explained what was being used on the desk in the mixing room. I thought the sounds came alive like I have never heard before. Sounds like the real deal, no comparison to plugins. Thank you for the video!
Very cool workflow. It is good to process what you record and after to have a mastering chain for the master with the same hardware, it needs to be a little brain exercise for patching sometimes. But it is really cool.
Great to see the tour and hear from the main designer there. I always imagined these guys were in some German warehouse black-light discotech wearing sunglasses inside and twiddling knobs for that 1% more of high end! They're in a techno park!
Excellent video, really enjoyed the tour and definitely made me want to get back to using analogue equipment once again. I really miss the hands on experience and sound of analogue equipment. So frikin' cool.
Die 27 minuten vlogen voorbij. En super leuk je eens op lokatie te zien. Mooie spulletjes zeg, en de passie straalt er vanaf, van jullie allebei trouwens. Mooie video, thanks! 😃
That was really great! So if I understand it correctly they can produce a product with a series of 1, unlike conventional factories that have a "conveyer belt" production line with a pick and place machine. The manufacturing process does look very lean indeed. That demo techno was interresting too, it looks seamless as if there's no boundry bewteen inside box and outside the box. Do they also produce their own PCB's or are those done by a external company?

I'm enjoying the cheap caravan out the back window of the bosses office. I assume thats there for "contingency plan if the company doesnt succeed". Ah the joys of being a startup lol. Fortunately the product seems to have been well regarded so perhaps the caravan is just for holidays lol
Great video! Well done, Wytse. Really interesting to know how a manufacturer test their equipment. I didn't know that they did that with such a needle test bench. By the way, at 1:20 ... Is that your sleurhut? Lol.

His ultra clean facility reflects the build quality and sound. The factory design is very well thought out and practical. Amazing dude.
Passion meets German Engineering. Hard to beat! Elysia must be mentioned in a series with classic German Audio equipment!
Man, this was interesting! Loved their prototyping and assembly methods.
Controversial request: I would love to see a factory tour at Behringer.
+1 ,000. Considering what Behringer make now, and how they are set up, it would be fascinating.
Interesting request, Behringer sells way more products than elysia thats for sure

Great video! I love my xfilter even more now. And the customer service at Elysia is the best you can get
