My husband works overnight shift 5 days a week, and it's difficult to fall asleep without him beside me. I know your struggle! My hubby is an overnight coal miner, it's hard to fall asleep without him.. since discovering this TH-cam channel it has helped tremendously! I also have Thomases podcast snuggle on hand for the kids when they have rough nights too. ☺️❤️
@cmterbush 78 yr old retired LPN who did shift work (11-7 & 7p-7a) till 20 yrs ago. Now it's just up @ 4a to 6p or 8 or 10 pm twice a wk depending on the season. I drive long distance livery taking ppl to Dr appts local or to the big city 80 mi. away one way. I have a lot of pain now and spend a good deal of time in bed (early to bed...late to rise plus I'm up and down often, bed to recliner etc.) It's hard to fall asleep over and over...These videos help tremendously as shift workers often are a different lot! I hope your husband has the opportunity to sleep thru in very long naps. I did not have such luxury, raising 3 boys. There were school meetings, work meetings, baseball games (sometimes 2 boys playing in 2 different fields. Husband at one field, I was at the other one! Then a nap after and go to work! It was my life...crazy! Communication is key ...and running on empty all the time it's a lot of work to draw us out! Be persistent! I was horrible at it! It's interesting to realize what life is like for some of us. Most caregivers are great at giving care all around to others...but have zero capacity to take care of our own selves! Thanks to these videos, we're getting better at it! Sleep is such a huge and important component in our lives...but those who miss out in that area frequently don't have a lot of support or even understanding of what it means to their health.
My husband passed away just before Christmas. 2024 has been a nightmare of a year so I am in search of some peace and comfort and I believe I may find it here. God Bless.

This reminds me much of the wonderful meals my momma and daddy used to make for our family. We shared our meals with families who had recently had new babies or had a loved one pass away. If you want to make the cheese sauce when you are awake, spoon a small portion of the roux into a bowl, add the yolks to that, whisk smooth, then trickle it into the pan of roux while whisking. This should keep it from curdling. Happy cooking!

I love this channel and all you do to try to help us sleep! I have a request. Would you please activate the captions for all your videos and not just the long ones? I have hearing issues that make things sound garbled, especially voices. I know we are supposed to have our eyes shut, and I eventually do, but I cannot understand the story without the captions. I want to hear the stories and I find myself getting so frustrated trying to figure out what is being said, which isn't condusive to sleep! I'm sure there are others out there with hearing problems, hopefully this request isn't too difficult. Thank you so much! You all do great work!

This is the third get sleepy I’m having to abandon because the story involved cooking animal foods. Sadly this is not cozy or relaxing to me-as a vegan, animal foods make me think of suffering and cruelty.
