@@ar_greyheart471 I think it's wild to believe that it has something to do with the feelings of the developers. :-P Maybe the devs had a hard time to implement Gotham's trademark "the roooook". By integrating this feature they probably had to compromise the bots ability to play better moves in the situation. Anna and Pia also won against Pia-Bot in other videos. So probably those bots are generally way weaker? Or maybe they have a problem with consistency? Obviously pure stockfish is crazy good. To be clear, I'm only talking about the bot in this game, I'm not talking about the real people these bots are named after. Anna, Pia or Gotham are crazy good compared to me. But still strange why there were so many obvious blunders in such a short time.
yeah i think the way they dumb bots down from playing perfectly is they insert a very small chance of doing something stupid, but the stupid thing they do is not something any player at that ranking would do. so both players and bots make mistakes, but bots make really stupid mistakes that no human would make. the bot just can't tell the difference between a really stupid mistake and a natural mistake.
If bots make enough mistakes, many of those mistakes are bound to be human-like; but yeah, occasionally you'll see mistakes from a 2500 bot that no human above 800 would make.

This is by far my favorite chess site. I love all the videos. Watching this site has seriously reinvigorated my love of chess. I don't have anyone to play against but I play against the computer all the time and I'm having loads of fun with the game. Thank you for sharing all your videos.
I think if you take a look "under the hood" of the bots they may have a % risk of blundering moves, depending on the elo they are. The rook takes f2 move may have been a move that rolled a blunder. Levy wouldn't ever play that move as it is really not indicative of 2500 elo chess.
Only fitting Pia plays Gothambot. Just remember that just because it's Gothams bot doesn't mean it plays like him. I like how Gotham commented whether Piabots moves were actually what Pia would do.
When a grandmaster sees a strange move they say "hmm, I don't understand this move" and they try to figure out what the idea is. When I see a strange move I say "pffff, what an idiot". And then I lose material to a tactic.
Bots are weird. They are often far easier than their ELO. I defeat Bot with waaaay higher rating than myself. I would not even stand a chance against a human with the same rating.

It's odd. I've played 2000+ bots recently and sometimes they would just blunder a queen in the opening. Did something happen with bots or something?
