Watching and waiting for your complete video you said you were makin listing the links to the parts and your how you did it video. I like your video and was hoping to go by it and use it as a guide for my new Perception Outlaw 11.5 which I got for my Birthday from my sweet wife.
I'm really interested in seeing how you made the mount itself for the kayak. A product list/ assembly of it would be awesome to see. About how long does the battery last you?
Really interested in this build. Can we get a material list and links to the sterring and lifting components, please? Great job with explaining what you did here. Thank you!
I found those shelf brackets on Amazon and intend on building a mount for my kayak, so thanks for the inspiration! I'm wondering how long that 30ah battery will last out on the water. Have you done any tests yet?
I haven’t done any on-the-water endurance tests yet, but I did do dry runs! Full disclosure, I have a 10W solar panel that I use to maintain the battery on the water. As far as the dry run, I ran the motor at 50% power with the panel for 4 hours and the battery only dropped from 100% to 94%. Obviously that will be much different under load
Got my outlaw 2 weeks ago took it out on it's maiden voyage last weekend without the trolling motor I've got to install on it. I wanted to see how it handles and how stable it is compared to my catch 120 .. love them both easier to add a trolling motor to the outlaw tho lol
Dude, GREAT video! I have very few videos I've saved on TH-cam but yours just made the list. Do you have a link for that 5" hatch kit you found on Amazon? I can only find 4,6 & 8" but no 5". Also do you have a link for that coupling you used for the handle to the motor guide.
Thanks Jason! I really appreciate the feedback! Unfortunately, it would seem the hatch I bought is currently out of stock. When I find another one, I will be sure to let you know!
Great project which I plan to nearly duplicate for my Perception Outlaw 11.5 ... but I'd REALLY like to add FOOT PEDAL STEERING. Any suggestions for this specific kayak? Seems to me that the side cockpit walls in the Outlaw 11.5 are "curved" where you would need to mount the sliding foot pedal rails. Ideas appreciated
Great vid! How much farther do you think you would have to extend the base plate to where the motor could come straight up without the point of it hitting the kayak?
It doesn't matter how many ah your battery is. Your own has an amp rating for OUTPUT...not input amps. The PWM will only pull what it needs. I have a 60 amp pem and run a 100ah battery with a 100 amp internal BMS. You are the 2nd person I've seen with this setup who has misunderstood those ratings and that's fine, but just know you can put as much amp hours of battery as you wish and any size BMS inside the battery, just put a fuze or breaker between the battery and PWM that meets the output amps of your own to prevent malfunctions.
I am not sure how you live with the cheap flexing floor in front of the seat…sad such a nice kayak has a very cheap thin non supported floor..lean over and push down…scares you…perception needs to fixx that

Great build man! thanks for the video!

I second this. A build list or affiliate links would be great!
Thanks man for taking the time to show us the DIY mount and the motor lift. Really appreciate it!

Looks like a nice build. I'd like to see it all in action.
Will do! I'll post a video ASAP!
That’s awesome
Pretty cool man!

Thank You!!
Hi great video is there any way you can put the links to buy the stuff on Amazon like the speed know

Rough estimate, probably about another 4 inches or so should give ample clearance
The aluminum gear tracks 4in?
They’re 8in YakAttack tracks
