Kim, nice to see you're changing from a hunter to a wanderer. I read an article several years ago that broke photographers into either hunters (those going out with specific images in mind) and wanderers (those just seeing what shows up). I'm firmly a wanderer. I tried the hunter approach for a year or so and realized two things. First, I was often disappointed because I couldn't get the image I was searching for. Second, I realized that my creativity was fading. So I returned to my wanderer ways. The quality of my images drastically improved and photography was fun again. Welcome to the world of the wanderer!
Very interesting with a different approach to wildlife in contrast to the surrounding landscape.Great photos of the birds and ocean rocks. I always stop and look around and behind to see where I have been, which oftentimes gives me a good photo. Often times the photo that you didn't expect to see is the best shot of the day.
Love the color energy and drama of your perspectives chosen here..truly beautiful Kim...hopefully one day I can visit this pristine landscape and be as mesmerized as so many others..have a blessed weekend!
Kim - I see these shots totally in the landscape genre. The colors in the sea, the depths of the shadows, the white waves breaking on the rocks - they are simply mesmerizing. I was especially drawn to the shots where the sea greens showed tremendous depth. The birds are just a nice surprise thrown in to divert your attention from the sea. Love it - keep up the great shooting and stay safe!
There is no bad shots when it comes to the ocean for me. The color and the power is just incredible as you can see in your shots. Thank you as always for taking time to show the magnificent scenery of Scotland. Thank you for the explanation of your flexibility to change and find other opportunities to try...a good tip to remember. Keep shooting....Fred Fleming in Houston, Texas.
I always love your videos! My wife and I watch them together. She’s of Scottish ancestry. Her grandfather came to Canada from Scotland. We love your accent, and I love your photography!! The images you captured are so beautiful!!
Fabulous video, really enjoyed your wildlife in the environment images. Thinking out of the box and not having expectations when out shooting is a great attitude to have. Freedom with the camera, shoot what you love 🤩👍
Hi Kim that was absolutely brilliant hasn't lock down and now semi lock down been good in an unusual way, all the things you see that you didn't see before and all those images that you probably wouldn't have taken. I think the last three videos have been some of the best you've done and a lot of that is down to the situation we currently find ourselves in talk about turning a negative into a positive these images are stunning. Until next time take care and stay safe.
Really interesting, the fact that you tried something different Kim. I thought these images are some of your very best. They'll look great, printed large and hung on a wall. Why 8 eejits have given you a thumbs down, I've no idea. GO GIRL
Amazing you got a great eye looking forward to seeing lots of your picturesI am an amateur photographer to love to get outside and enjoy the world as it presents itself to awesome
Hi Kim big fan and subscriber, had to comment on this video really inspiring and the images you shot are fantastic. You got the message across loud and clear look around and look for unique images that may be missed without considering and looking for them. Get them shots on your wall there great.
Skillfully done, bringing the atmosphere of the sea and showing its diversity, a lovely mix of wildlife and landscape together. Always learning from your expertise and skills. Thanks for sharing.
Another great video. While I dabble in landscape, it is not my thing. I shoot wildlife and macro but do enjoy watching many photography channels. What attracted me to your channel when you first started was your enthusiasm. It was great to see and certainly different to a lot of photographic content out there. For a while you seemed to have lost that a little but, your videos since lockdown ended have been superb showing that spark again. Keep up the good work.
The video footage looking down was quite dynamic, as you said mesmerizing. That's an approach to wildlife I've been leaning towards recently, in my case as a way to overcome some of the limitations of my equipment... Well recently is relative, I'm mostly shooting abstract details (grain patterns in rock or wood, etc.) and flowers in the garden these days.
Lovely video Kim. Interesting, Informative and so enthusiastically presented. I'm interested in watching more of your work. Your instagram has some fantastic shots too :)
Dear Kim. I love your video's, and this one is great too. Even it was made on a whim ;-) Next year me and my wife plan to come to Schotland and do some touring around. If luck comes my way, im gonna try and book some of your time and your expertise. Never really done Landscape photography before. But Scotland has to be "the" best place to have a good go at it. In the meanwhile, i"ll just keep watching your vids!
good for you Kimbo , bugging out eh , god it looks great there .i miss water soooo much , i can smell the sea air ahhhhhh . kayak tent kettle .. ohh camera 😁
Hello Kim,am living 20 min away from that places,it's really beautiful place, and lots of opportunities for photography, just been there yesterday taking photos of birds, and even managed get beautiful sunset 🙂
Great video Kim. Glad you were a bit back from the edge but still a bit too close for me. Great set of images. Each image, I kept saying that's my fave then the next one came up and I was like, oh that's good too. They were all great.
An interesting video Kim, as you say something a bit different. There is one photo in your set that caught my eye, it`s about five or six from the end where you have managed to catch the movement of the seaweed through the breaking waves. Brilliant.
Another very well done and very interesting video, I'm heading up to Scotland again in 2 weeks time to get some photography and drone flying done around Glencoe and surrounding areas, can't wait.
I really like the images of the birds against the backdrop of the waves and rocks. Its a completely different perspective of an animal that you would normally expect to be soaring above your head. Looking up into the sky at a flying bird is the normal way of a human to see a bird but looking downward and seeing the from above creates a lot of drama and is not the normal way I would look at a bird. Probably because I would be to scared to look down that cliff let alone photograph it:-). Two great ideas for photography ( the insects and the birds from above) at a time of day that is not necessarily ideal for traditional landscape.
Beautiful scene-- One the things I noticed was how the water left patterns on the rocks and seaweed as it receded. Like at 3:24 of your video. I thought that would make a great shot-- Well done
Loved this video, had to watch it twice. I was so engrossed in the well chosen music that I missed what you were saying lol, so had to watch it again and this time just concentrate on your commentary. Absolutely gorgeous ❤️
Beautiful pictures and an informative video, as always! 😊 Can you set up a tripod at that location? In my mind, that scene screams for some abstract long exposure shots, with blurry water and white streaks of the birds. About a second or so. Well, just a thought...
Great video as always. I have had a few days at trying wildlife photography and got some ok shots. Would like to show you some of my pictures to get any feedback what I could do differently.
This is a very different perspective..i am just imagining how would it look if using a ND filter one uses a slow shutter speed and the birds just leave a blur...
excellent video but i will have to give this a miss as I am terrible with heights - will stick to the flattish nature reserves in Essex and flower photography
I thought he broke the autofocus. I must be dummy, dumb, dumb. He didn’t break his camera at all. You can just turn the floppy screen around and hide the screen. Nikon d5600 has a similar floppy screen. Flip the screen and that’s it.
I have a challenge for you. Are you game, or a chicken? 🤔 Wildlife photography with your macro lens only 😉 you will be surprised. But ok, it's not a challenge for amateurs 😜
If you really want to learn patience, become a wildlife photographer (disclaimer: I'm not a wildlife photographer. Also, I stink at being really patient. Go figure.)
I always love wildlife in context with their environment. The power and colour of the sea with the birds was wonderful.

The colour of the water is amazing Kim. With the birds in the frame too , it just adds an extra dimension.

Truly beautiful and dynamic pictures-works of art. I also enjoyed your video of the swirling waves and birds, truly "mesmerizing" and transporting.
Spectacular image's
Wow. Fantastic video. Thanks a lot Kim 😉
Some fantastic shots there Kim - a lovely blend of seascape and birds. Well done.
Great perspective and wave motion Kim well done
Great stuff Kim. I had not thought of an overhead almost abstract image, to depict the environment of sea bird. Thank you!
That was amazing prescriptive to look at. Merging wild life with landscape.
Like always, beautiful video and photos. You are also a very humble person; you are a great photographer 🙌!
beautiful photos. it is amazing what a different perspective can do.
Really interesting, the fact that you tried something different Kim. I thought these images are some of your very best.

You have amazing places to photograph in your country, great video! Beautiful..

Hello Kim,am living 20 min away from that places,it's really beautiful place, and lots of opportunities for photography, just been there yesterday taking photos of birds, and even managed get beautiful sunset 🙂
Such a different angle for birds than usual. It looks like they are flying by a wall of water in one or two of them.
Great video Kim. Glad you were a bit back from the edge but still a bit too close for me. Great set of images. Each image, I kept saying that's my fave then the next one came up and I was like, oh that's good too. They were all great.

Love the aspect of shooting something unexpected, which lead to cool shots! What happened to the Z6 you loaned from Nikon? Did you buy your own? :)
Beautiful pictures and an informative video, as always! 😊 Can you set up a tripod at that location? In my mind, that scene screams for some abstract long exposure shots, with blurry water and white streaks of the birds. About a second or so. Well, just a thought...
What settings were you using? Lovely vid, thanks for sharing!
Love the video, but even watching it on tv I got sweats due to my lack of head for heights!
Thank you Kim, stunning as always!
Great video as always. I have had a few days at trying wildlife photography and got some ok shots. Would like to show you some of my pictures to get any feedback what I could do differently.
Great images, hope you weren't too close to the cliff edge there.
👌👌👌
This is a very different perspective..i am just imagining how would it look if using a ND filter one uses a slow shutter speed and the birds just leave a blur...
Nice one Kim, looks bit precarious on your perch but great shots as always.
