I've got the same knife, even the same color. There's been some testing done on the D2 but on different models that came back as being stainless instead of D2. That doesn't necessarily prove this knife isn't real D2 though, just that it might not be. I can't really tell cause I haven't did a lot of cutting with it because that's not what I got it for. For its intended purpose it'll function perfectly if needed, hopefully it won't ever be needed. I had bought a different model before I bought this one and liked it so much I bought this one. And that's after finding out the D2 was suspect. Some people may wonder why I'd buy a knife that wasn't being truthful about the blade steel. Well I'm a knife collector and have owned 100s of knives. I've forged my own as well so I know a great knife when I see it and I like both of these knives better than some of my expensive knives. The fit and finish are first rate. They are great designs that function perfectly. I have to deploy this big tanto multiple times a day even though I'm not actually using it and I can't say that about any of my other knives. There's just something special about this one even if it isn't D2. It's still one of the best deals around imo. Great review!
I`m with you bro. I like the brand despite the reputation. I really don`t care what anyone thinks. I really wouldn`t say they are necessarily clones, rather, inspired by..... If you haven`t already, have a look at Ganzo. Same price, better quality.
