as a veteran elder scrolls modder 17 years now I wish them well and might buy it will definitely try the demo like right now !
Elder Scrolls modder and Ralliart cam cover admirer? My man 😎
Gonna hold out til 1.0 for this one mostly because I wanna experience it as a whole and not be spoon fed each patch, but definitely gonna get it. I love the land marks and the mystery of like who built it and why. Like that huge statue holding up the cliff and the giant sword in the background just draw me in and make me want to know more of the universe :D
I agree. ALWAYS a good call to hold out for 1.0 when games are a decent way along
I love the alter with that undead chained up in it. I don't know what it's story is, but imma call him Larry 😊
I definitely appreciate the priority loot selection. The best value by weight as default in the quickloot menu is something every rpg needs to do. It shows the developer understands RPG's well.
Splat: "I'm not the kind of player who will look up underneath everything for stuff"
Also Splat: "So I've spent 45 mins looking for stuff"
Definitely a wishlist material! Thank you for covering that game! Anything that comes close to Skyrim/Gothic series I immediately adore, those games have special place in my heart.
The combat in the first 30 seconds was nice!
The two hands are realistically independent, allowing a block with the shield even while a strike with the right is committed.
Nice that archers actually draw their sidearm when things get melee-ish. You don't see that as often as I'd like.
yeah NPCs haven't been doing it since Oblivion or Skyrim or anything.... or before
@@MasterShake420x 🤭
@@MasterShake420x they are doing it in gothic which is pinnacle of rpg to this day
What?!...are you from PR team of this game?. This is nothing new and have seen plenty of other games.
@@sureshkumar-qw9ny No affiliation at all, I don't even think it'll run on my current system. I don't know what games you're playing but they aren't the ones I have been.
Splatt mentioning Arkham Horror made me happy! It's my favorite board game! 🙂
Always love to see first person RPGs, keep 'em coming
That cutscene was hilarious. No humans can enter the mist except these bandits
Yeah it doesn't make sense. 😂
It said without consequences. I am thinking the bandits have issues with becoming farmers now that their moral compass was destroyed by the fog
Video game bandits have the same trait as cockroaches
it was nice of the bandits to wait and just stand there menacingly instead of attacking while the disembodied voice was talking.
That sorcerer was saying in the cutscene, "I feel more when you're inside of me!" Made me think of it as a mist gangbang lol.
This looks incredibly good for an indie production.
the map might only get a little bit bigger depending on how "true" to the legends as Avalon was meant to a mystical island within a sacred lake but they could always expand the playing area by drawing Celtic Unseelie lore as that has a lot of underground realms and underworlds etc
I like the enemy animations and weapon models in this game! They're fairly realistic, which is a very nice surprise. Enemies wind up their swing for a bit of power and follow through on their attacks, which looks nice. I hate games with enemies flailing like special needs kids holding weapons made of foam. Skeletons in this game do that, but that's okay because they're skeletons.
I also like the fact that twohanded swords swing pretty fast, which is another realistic touch - I hate how slow they are in Skyrim, it really takes me out of the game experience. Game devs usually make twohanded weapons slow for game balance, which is extremely lazy.
the archers are dodgeable. but they predict your position based on your movement at moment of firing. so if you don't change speeds directions then they will hit you
Not totally for me but I love to see someone filling in this game space. Many people will dig this.
Summon Lilarcor! Some will undoubtedly appreciate the nostalgia! 🤣
A common mistake (and a pet peeve of mine) in RPGs is making Broadswords 2 handed and Longswords single-handed. It's actually the complete opposite. A quick Google search on medieval weaponry would verify that, but I suppose an argument could be made that things are "different" in this world.
Outside of that, the game looks promising for an Indie dev team.
na they do that in like every game
Meh, you're not wrong, but you're also not exactly right. A quick google search will reveal that the term "broadsword" meant any sword broader than a typical sword of the time up until the 15th century. It was a general term. The term could be used to describe a sword wielded with either one or two hands. It wasn't until around the 18-19th century that "broadsword" was used to describe single handed swords like the Scottish Basket-Hilt or the Chinese Broadsword.
Similarly, the term "longsword" was also a general term to describe swords longer than dueling swords of the time. Hungarians of the 15th-19th century called their sabers "longswords."
I'm sure at the Battle of Kircholm there was a ton of correcting the Hussars, "well actually that's a Saber!"
Yes an argument could be made that in a completely fictional world, its residents would refer to swords differently than nerds online in real life 2024. However, an argument could also be made that any RPG drawing inspiration from the middle ages would have its residents refer to swords as people in the middle ages did...
Hopefully this insight can help you get past your pet peeve and enjoy RPGs more.
This is looking really good. Interested to see whats behind the invisible walls though.
the walls are invisible. you can see behind them.

Gotta admit I've wish listed sooo many games and bought a few as well that I never even knew existed thanks to your channel!! Playing games via the Wiki... sounds like Elite Dangerous haha
chromatic aberration makes me feel hungover.
Done 60hours on this title - maaann what a game! Love it
Great story line for early access - twists and turns
The Tainted Grail PC card game is also very good, and also polished. When exploring the wyrdness definitely worth a look, plays similar to a slay the spire game
I can't believe this is early access game. Feels like a full game. Plenty to do, gorgeous landscapes, crisp action and movements
@@manuelkohpei3719 Yep i love that game
The premise as you describe it really gives me Dark Tower (Stephen King) vibes.
I've been playing this and it's going well, worth picking up.
i just played this game and had a blast. i thought the story was well done for chapter 1. Really cool kinda mind blowing concepts. Felt fresh. Can't wait for chapter 2.
The comparison with Gothic 3 has me excited, as I regard that series of games very highly. Gothic 2 being the best of them in my opinion. But why did you cut the video in the middle of an exciting boss battle? Would have liked to see that completed.
100% behind you on dislike for radial and worse nested radial menus, they're yet another clunky design standard that has bled across from consoles (just like lock-on circle strafe "tactical" adventure games).
I will wait for a more finish game. But i really like that. Hope it goes where it want to go
Thx for playing this Splatt. I bought this a while ago but havent tried it yet.
Darktide and Vermintide Exist. Why not take notes and make melee combat feel like those games, lol.
However good the game may be or not be, the lore is all over the shop and would bug the hell out of me! lol
always here for more tainted grail cinematic universe
> UI should be done for PC
YES! Instant like button hit.
I love the KLANK of my weapon hitting metal and hearing the blood gushing whenever dismembering an enemy, in this game it doesn’t look as satisfying as it is in Vermintide 2.
Vermintide 2 has MASTERED combat immersion.
Just immersion in general, the woodland maps with the birds chirping and the sun piercing through each patch of leaves in a tree and following through onto the ground and the enemies yapping between each other.
Idk why but when I think of the perfect medieval combat system I think of vermintide 2.
Just everything from the music, to the maps to the magic to the melee combat it’s all perfect.
They literally got the sounds of you critically hitting PERFECT.
Just check it out and see for yourselves.
I wish this game took some things from vermintide 2.
I bought this game a few weeks back and love it. Ive been going back and forth between this and starfield.
I absolutely loved King Arthur Knight's Tale
I will definitely be giving this a go when it's more complete.
The Red Death has Corprus vibes.
don't healing potion right in front of me
Love games like this as long as they end up getting all the game-breaking bugs out of them in the end.
One of the things Bethesda does well is making each play through feel unique. What’s this game like with side quests etc and random encounters?
It’s great that there are others trying to compete with Bethesda but Bethesda has set a high standard in replay ability.
I hope they keep improving and don't rush.
looks promising... only thing that really bothers me there is that enemies don't have any hit reactions. No flinching, no knockback, nada. Just blood.
"Don't talk to me or my audience-son, ever again!"
Just the video i needed. This has been on my wishlist sense you last covered it and ive been debating on getting it or not
Yeah, be able to kick would be nice, like in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic!
Looks like something I would like.
Speaking of Awaken Realms board games... damn do I hope they make "The Edge" into a RTS game.
The Dawn of War 2 squad base, capture points would be perfect fit for it, and considering the factions and the setting it has a lot of potential for awesomness.
Looks like a great game. Gonna check it out.
Looks interesting, but seeing it started in EA in march with the intent of it being in EA for 9-16 months I do wonder when it will actually release in full.
Between December 2023 and July 2024
"Morrowind's wonky little goth-brother"...lol, makes sense. It looks interesting.
@0:32 I'm interested from that first attack. If this game can handle things like group fights, party commands and mechanics and npc dialogue well BUT also be modifiable it will earn my money. I hope it measure up.
Im not watching because I already own it, but cant play past the prolog. I dont want to spoil it for myself, so i just want to say thanks for showcasing this. This game has a lot of promise.
Cool, I love it. I can't wait when you will stream it on twich
First Tainted Grail was an ok card-based game (think Slay the Spire but slightly different), new one looks like the most uninspired Skyrim clone you can imagine.
Larian my friend .. best out of nowhere came larian like 90something .. Tis a shame nobody mentions them first
it's a great game for what it is, i've played it from first beta and it surely has come a long way to it's current state. Yes, the unsolvable quest are something most people (me included) hate, but other than that it's very enjoyable. Can't wait to see what it'll be like once its completed.
Thanks for showcasing! ^^
I had a great time with this, and it’s had updates since I played a few months ago. Definitely has Oblivion vibes. I’m into it, but waiting to play again until it’s further along.
I felt like I was itching and cleaned my doo doo hole out with paper towels and rubbing alcohol and I felt so much more relaxed I straight up started sweating from my forehead a little bit. It was wild. Cool video, too.
Was there an isometric CPRG style game where you played as a revived Mordred restoring order to the kingdom? I thought you covered a game like that where you recruited the other knights of the round table and maybe rebuilt Camelot as you progressed through the game.
King Arthur: Knight's Tale. Yeah, he covered that one quite a while ago
So let me get this straight: You are being broken out of prison by a thief so you can steal Excalibur...I dunno but it seems to me there is someone else who might be better suited to do that...say...a thief?
Yea lol

Unfortunately when I was checking out this game there were a lot of performance issues (probably on my end). Seems promising though.
This one looks pretty sweet!
Having played this in ea I feel like it's going to be a solid game and on a side note the devs have said it's not going to have AAA polish.
so if your care breaks down while you're playing, you're in trouble.
@@vforwombat9915 I'm guessing you are talking about the AAA polish and I don't care, I was just letting people know so they don't over hype it. If not your comment makes no sense to me.
@@robcampion9917Thinks there’s a typo in his comment, my guess it was “car” and not “care” and that it was a joke!😉
@@Hiznogood oh, I still don't get it. 😒
aaa is a service. if your car breaks down aaa will come and tow it
Yeah a game like this is definitely my jam
Will be wish listing for sure
I've been torn between this and Bloodline. They're very different in some ways but they both scratch a certain itch I have. And now I'm still not quite sure which one to get. LOL!
My standard questions: are there polearms in the game?: can the main character be southpaw?
Great video Splatt! It's kinda sad that I'll probably stop using youtube so I'll miss your daily uploads but keep up the good work and I hope you do even better!
You pulled out the bow and I thought, "this is going to do lame damage like every bow from every fantasy game," and, yup.
Narrative all over the place sounds kinda like every Awaken Realms games ever to me 😂
My only gripe is how insanely slow your character walks in the world
Can't wait to get this at somepoint and play as an assassin/rogue! 😎
Looks awesome but not ready :)
Ug, having the mobs of enemies not hit each other with swings feels so bad. I guess it was needed so they'll not trickle in HOLLYWOOD fight style, nor massacre themselves by bunching up and everyone hitting their neighbors.
Oleg announced Gedonia 2!
Every game in existence seems to be in some stage of "early access" in this timeline
Been keeping on eye on this one. 😮
I really enjoyed my time with this game, would recommend it as is.
This is so much like Skyrim which is great. The graphics look a little dated but this is early access. I will follow this with great interest.
So, it’s historically accurate?
In 535, around the time the death of King Arthur was suppose to occur, there was the Year Without A Sun.
This saw the collapse of pretty much every existing major power except Justinian Rome, which fell later to the displaced tribe that was driven out of the East Asian steppes by modern Mongols.
The premise is good, the combat looks solid, the art is great. And yet it just makes me go meh. I think it feels so much like Skyrim that I just don't fancy putting in more hours of the same grind. Also it doesn't feel like you're a real person with any agency; just a sword and shield being told what to do.
Yeah I don't get the comparison with Elder Scrolls game at all. Will there be villages with villagers and factions you can join and choices? I just see a action game with skills. But maybe these things will be added later?
Keep up the good work mate can't wait to watch the next stream
so many things I love about action rpgs ... but rarely enjoy the 'action'
Haven't logged back in since the patch. Hope it's fun.
Avowed need to show us more
What bothers me is the lack of legs and feet again... Why can't modern game devs do, what Arcane did with Arx Fatalis and later Dark Messiah, 21 and 17 years ago?
The key to doing these right is to create a world and lore that are interesting enough to capture the nerds and modders for the long run. Look at Morrowind.
hell yeah pimp
As a Morrowind fan I'll keep this on my radar
Kind of reminds me of Kings Field a bit
Do two handed wepons hit through enemy's if they are lined up ?
hm, think I might start another kingdom come deliverance character
but this does have a demo I might give a try if it's not huge... ugh, it's 14gb :(
Arthurian legends are Welsh.
I'm more interested in Monomyth, that game is looking so fucking awesome. Demo is really good too.
Hmmm might get this, looks like a walmart version of skyrim with a dash of greedfall but first person
beware ! i lost ALL my save files at ONCE and stopped playing this after that
this was a year ago so i din't know if they fixed the game killing issues
So, it's indie skyrim that may or may not have a story?
splat goes wackety-wack.
Very pretty and Skyrim like. 🤩😍🤩
fishing is in the game as of 0.6 and mining is also in the game but a tad wanky in my opinion
looks like the game could be interesting further along.
