Great story, well told. Viv and Imran taught young Wasim an important lesson - you can be aggressive, you can bowl with fire in your belly, but never be disrespectful. People who are writing about Imran Khan. First, Wasim Akram to date gives Imran Khan credit for whatever he has achieved as a bowler. Imran Khan in many interviews has said he did this intentionally to make Wasim face difficulties in life. The same goes with Inzamam. Imran Khan just saw Inzamam in a club match and he announced his name in the world cup. The whole team went against him and he kept saying " ye hume worldcup jeetaeyga" and Inzamam proved himself in the tournament. As far as his tenure as a Prime minister is concerned not many Indians know. Below are a few points to educate them: - Imran refused to live in prime minister house to save money - He sold all extra assets in the prime minister's house and give it to a charity - Prime Minister's house was made open to public - Many chief minister houses in the country were made into universities - Health insurance of 5 lacs to every Pakistani - He was the only prime minister whose expenses were only 10% of the all prime ministers in the past - 5% growth in 2021 where most countries performed badly - He did not licked US administration - 30% decrease in corruption - Build three Mandirs in Pakistan as he believed the place was sacred to Hindus ( purchase land in Islamabad from govt funding for a Mandir) As a Pakistani, most people in Pakistan are satisfied with his performance its just the bikao media who is spreading a false propaganda
It's mostly just indians in the comments section trying to spread propaganda and disrespecting Pakistani players... Actually Imran tried pretty hard, he's just in a bad situation which locks him down so he couldn't achieve most of what he wanted.

He knocked the ball around with nonchalance, the scoreboard ticking away to his inevitable century at which point he hit 2 sixes, one each side of the grandstand and into the car park, and declared. The other great batsman of the time was his namesake, Barry Richards of South Africa - two very different styles, the one elegant, the other intimidating power - both supreme masters.

Akram mentioned of this incident on Comedy Nights With Kapil. He stated that the key difference between Sir Viv Richards and Sunil Gavaskar was that if Viv was even slightly infuriated he had the capacity to create a brawl while Gavaskar reassess if something was wrong in his batting stature and positioning if he missed out a delivery. And Viv didn't like any bowler, no matter how great, charging at him coz he took it as a sign of intimidation, even if unknowingly, and would then break havoc.

If you think that Imran Khan never stood up for his players especially Wasim & Waqar then it ultimately speaks volumes how much cricket you've seen.
You can be such a jerk -- lol can’t believe … I wish you should have seen some cricket
Correct your grammar first my guy, it's not "did not stood up," it's did not stand up. And on the other hand he taught Wasim that one needs to fight his own fights. Moreover, he was an experienced sportsman and he knew that Viv Richards couldn't beat Wasim up as it would result in Viv getting removed from the West Indian team for violating some sort of a violence rule.

Wasim is the greatest non West Indian fast.bowler ever. I loved that Pakistan team. They were amazing. But that West Indian team is the greatest all time
What a story …but yet the young wasim got the world best batsman out what a victory…well done the king of swing showed the character to send to the dressing room in a real battle field.
Age gets better of everyone.. Even wasim was a shadow of his best during his latter part of his career.

Great story, well told. Viv and Imran taught young Wasim an important lesson - you can be aggressive, you can bowl with fire in your belly, but never be disrespectful. Imran's take on it was, you started it, so you have to go out there into the corridor and finish it. If you can't finish it, don't start it. Sounds like Wasim learnt his lesson well. You would not have wanted to pick a fist-fight with Viv - he had a fantastic physique. He was strong as an ox.

My love, my murshad, my childhood hero and my leader, IMRAN KHAN.....A true gentleman on field and statesman in office. I m proud to be a follower of IK.
What is astounding to me is that in this era of intense aggression by the bowlers, they were still not wearing headgear. Today it would be unthinkable for a batsman to go out without a helmet. Those players in the pre helmet era were on another level.
Actually Khan taught Akram a life long lesson:
"Fight your own fights. Don't look to others to bail you out."

Below are a few points to educate them:
- Imran refused to live in prime minister house to save money
- He sold all extra assets in the prime minister's house and give it to a charity
- Prime Minister's house was made open to public
- Many chief minister houses in the country were made into universities
- Health insurance of 5 lacs to every Pakistani
- He was the only prime minister whose expenses were only 10% of the all prime ministers in the past
- 5% growth in 2021 where most countries performed badly
- He did not licked US administration
- 30% decrease in corruption
- Build three Mandirs in Pakistan as he believed the place was sacred to Hindus ( purchase land in Islamabad from govt funding for a Mandir)
As a Pakistani, most people in Pakistan are satisfied with his performance its just the bikao media who is spreading a false propaganda
It's mostly just indians in the comments section trying to spread propaganda and disrespecting Pakistani players... Actually Imran tried pretty hard, he's just in a bad situation which locks him down so he couldn't achieve most of what he wanted.

In actual , Wasim Akram was the one , who had ability to threat and out Richards
I mean you can say that sure but given context it doesn’t make sense to compare the two given Wasim only faced Richards not only past his prime but near the end of his cricketing career as a whole. On the other hand, Wasim was a young and upcoming new bowler.
Yes but he didn't need to be disrespectful. Nothing wrong with sending down a few bouncers and being aggressive with the ball, but saying stuff like that to one of the greatest players of all time was not on.
@@Wally-H he is one of the greatest players of all time as well.

The dangerous pace bowlers of Richards era were Marshal, Holding, Garner, Roberts and other West Indian greats and thankfully none of them Richards had to face. This is taken from India today quoting Wasim Akram that Imran told him to bowl bouncers, did not tell him to curse or talk smack. Viv was dishonoured by a foul-mouthed rowdy young boy. Saw Viv Richards playing for Somerset at Northampton. He swaggered on and started almost quietly, burning the hands of the inner fielders.

And Viv didn't like any bowler, no matter how great, charging at him coz he took it as a sign of intimidation, even if unknowingly, and would then break havoc.

Besides, he started off as a medium pacer and within barely a season of international cricket he was christened "Right Arm FAST" ? It raises questions. But laws weren't that strict as they became during the late 80s(reason Botham was suspended for a few matches, he admitted taking Cannabis but that was for his personal party) so most escaped scrutiny.
