Waste Management Heil 7000s

Filmed in 2017. This operator ended up in three trucks that day; first in her assigned jumbo, then the curve shell 7000 (footage of that later), and then one of the spare 7000s seen towards the end of this video. Huge thanks to her!

still enjoy seeing these, especially the slower one at the end that took more revving to get the arm moving. for some reason that just seems nostalgic and more reminiscent of early automation to me. great throwback

Thanks! I would imagine they are either scrap metal by now or moved to a different yard. They might have kept one as a spare. We haven't been up there in a long time lol.

Awesome trucks! I remember the days when WM of NM ran the good old WX 7000s. The last truck sounded especially good. The Dura Cast carts are a nice touch as well. Are these trucks still in service or have they been decommissioned? Excellent work.

I think they're all close to 2000; I doubt they're running unless WM sent them to another yard.

Why doesn't WM still use 7000's? Most of the durapacks are with a python arm

Well Heil stopped making the 7000 arm some time ago, and I don't think a lot of people have bought them in the past ten years. I know most customers like that arm over the python arm because it's more stable.

haha now I see you said why they don't USE them anymore... they're old. That's pretty much the only answer. They're old diesels that have run their course, time for newer equipment that is better for the environment I guess.
