The biggest gripe that I had about this show is that RX' s powers of "The sun fixes everything" kind of ruin...everything. RX also didn't really live up to the serious and harass series that came before it. It's as if the writers just went. "Okay, Black was success, people loved it. Now, we can do what we want, but if we slip the word Black into the title and have it as a sequel, no one will notice!". The saddening thing is, that's what basically happened
Black RX was a great show. You can't expect these show to have amazing A+ plot. It's a fucking show for kids in the 80s. And ofcourse any kids show will have plot armor.
Exactly , what do you expect ? Angry angsty Kotaro, deep sympathizing plot line for the gorgons, then tons of death and our hero beaten to crap every now and then ? What kid is going to watch that ?

For me the reason Black RX is lighter than Black is because after all the suffering Kotaro endured he finally got the chance to be stronger and the results of his power up gave him hope when it comes to the future of people and earth

I liked that RX had multiple forms, but I didn't like RX. Original Black was much more awesome and realistic. RX was too invincible and more boring.
Too much plot armor lol.
Black was more darker. RX returned to a more kid-friendly roots.
Fortunately, the concept of RX was straightened up during the Heisei era. =)
