    Thankyou. Trying to be logical and weigh up the benefits compared to cost . Loud vs BHP . Brilliant

    Could you get a bit more if you optimise the map for the new exhaust set up ?

      Every mod should be tuned accordingly. This was just a bit of fun really. :-)

    Mine is apr stage 1, im not bothered about the eml. Can i just add the decat downpipe or will this have a negative impact? Not after any more power, i just want the noise 😁

    How are these downpipe compared to a oem downpipe that’s had the cat gutted

    • @TuningShed
      @TuningShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never actually tested a gutted cat back to back, so couldn't tell you factually sadly.

      Reason I ask is my car goes into be tuned soon and the guy tuning it said he won’t fit that downpipe( something to do with the bend in it)he said may as well gut the oem one,but I’m thinking if I ever come to sell the car I’m stuck for a oem cat that the new owner may want

      @@stevehealy1594 That's the absolute issue to be fair. I'd bet a new RS3 OEM cat is crazy money.

    Is this a stage 1

    Did u have to drop the subframe at all?

    • @TuningShed
      @TuningShed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No need to drop the subframe. It's a fiddle, but do-able. Unbolt the engine lower torque mount, and you can move the engine forward somewhat to allow a bit of extra room.

    First of all thank you for taking the time to do this, it's a hassle I know I have an 8p with decat dp but secondary cats still there. And also, what!!! only 4-5hp for the decat dp and also the secondary cats deleted? Thats crazy low isnt it? I thought a decat dp should give you at least 12hp on it's own let alone with the secondary cats deleted also would be up to 15-17hp of gains. I was thinking about getting a secondary cat delete also but this makes me change my mind about it. Realy weird this gains are so low.

      The amount of times I've run cars up with decats, and people are expecting big gains. They rarely are honestly. It just seems 'the thing to do'. 🤷 I remember back in the early 2000's, fitting a K&N, a superchip, and a full exhaust system to a Mk3 Golf Gti. We ran it beforehand, and ran it after, it gained 9bhp. 😂

      @@TuningShed well I now drive an rs3 8p but before had a s204 c62 and a decat gave you 20 hp no joke. Ofc this is a big 6.2 v8 engine but still thats pretty bang for buck. It's good I have watched this vid because I wanna sqeeze every hp out of the car, already running 520hp and 710nm and it's enough but if I can get 10hp more for cheap I would do it ofc but it's just not worth it this secondary decat. Already put too much money in that car as it is 😅

    Did this make 428hp on a stage 1 tune alone?

    • @Bazgti250
      @Bazgti250 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats flywheel power. I have stage 1 APR on my RS3 8P and it 398hp at the wheels. That's about right on them.
