They worked in spreading the information about the Lithuanian occupation, for example, through publication of the "Siberian Book of Prayers" by Adelė Dirsytė which was translated into many languages and became the most published Lithuanian book (it was smuggled from Siberia and published here). It was very important to keep the Lithuanian cause, the occupation, the genocide there not forgotten in the West, something the Lithuanian-Americans managed to do through the 1940s-1990s decades, so the USA and most Western countries never recognized the occupation.
Sister Igne is an absolute treasure of the Lithuanian American community. She is beloved by those of us who went to Camp Neringa as children.
