A lot of people have been asking about how to get the gear I'm using, specifically the paws. It's only available through the NSO app. You need to complete the third Crusty Sean quest by using points you've earned by playing the game. After you complete them, you can grab the gear from the terminal in the lobby.
If you swap one main of Special Charge Up for Tenacity, you will charge special even quicker. The more special charge up you stack, the less each individual ability point will affect the special cost. So even though tenacity is normally outclassed by Charge Up because of its inconsistency, its worth it when you are stacking so much charge up like in this build. In addition, its worthwhile adding a few subs of Special Power Up, because of the quicker booyah charge time.
As a flingza main, my heart STOPPED when you stopped on it for like 2 seconds. Then the relief whashed over me as you clicked away cause man, I did NOT want to deal with more flingza special spamming (Mostly cause my own spamming is enough to me /hj)
It’s kinda funny how just as you talk about the special not showing up to the side of the screen, the symbol of a teammate using a Reefslider appears on the right side of the screen 😂 Granted, it’s small and a lot less noticeable in battles than in 2, but it’s still here.
also, play the game long enough (this guy obviously does lol) and you should be able to recognize the sound cues for each special anyways, both for the version of ur team and the enemies'
@@tugfa0 I’ve got 700+ hours in game, I know what each special activating sounds like. I don’t consciously know the difference between the ones from my own team and the enemies, but my brain does (at least most of the time).
11:56 I have suddenly remembered when I was trying to learn snipper and was killed by an angle and was genuinely bewildered like “Did I just die from…? I’m just disappointed in myself.”
So fun fact, instead of showing that a teammate is using a special on the side of the screen, in Splatoon 3 it shows you that they're using a special at the location of where the special is being used in order to give you a better idea of what impact the special should have on a game, for example if a cooler is pushed up or placed back a bit, or if a kraken if pushing the frontlines or taking a flank to force the enemies onto your turf.
I’m not sure how welcome this is but a slight piece of advice for reeflux is that it’s a lot easier to hit the one shots if you do the vertical shot instead of the horizontal one
You can actually bob your reticle up and down while inking to paint even more turf and therefore charge your special even faster, but that seems almost redundant in this circumstance lol
It probably doesn't matter, but if anyone is interested in what the soft cap for Special Charge Up is, its 32ap (roughly 20% less special cost) so run Comeback, 1 Main of Special Charge up, and then 4 subs. If you die, you get to the soft cap and you have a whole extra Main and 3 subs to do whatever you want with. I would recommend 2 subs of Special Boost.

i think a cray team comp would be max special up with quad booyah, because booyahing for others increases your own special gauge by like 10% and the 30% also form special up would make the whole team able to chain booyahs because booyahing for your whole team would be roughly more than a quarter of your own special meter so basically unlimited booyah
Wouldn't a mix of other abilities help you get specials out more frequently? Doesn't going all-in on one ability hit a point of diminishing returns? Something like Ink Saver (or whatever, idk) or even Special Saver may end up actually resulting in more special uptime.
It's always better use a variety of abilities for normal matches, and I could potentially charge up specials faster that way, but for these videos the gimmick is to only use one of an ability to see what the effects are.
Max special charge is funny and all, but as someone who mained Neo Sploosh in S2, if your goal is "use the special as many times as physically possible," rather than "be able to get the special in the shortest amount of time," (which aren't the same thing) you should have some Special Saver on so that when you die (when, not if) you don't need to work AS hard to get your Special again. In my experience, 3 subs to 2 mains of Saver is the optimal range. Less than that and you're not recovering much Special charge, and it's ineffective. Too much more than that, and your special isn't charging fast enough for 80% recovery or more to be relevant. On the lower end of Saver, you cna also add ONE sub of Main Saver and/or Ink Recovery in order to be able to be shooting and therefore inking turf and therefore charging your special for a larger proportion of the match runtime. In S2, for weapons who's MPU effect is ink coverage, one sub of that and one sub of main saver (ink recovery optional) makes the Special Charge more impactful. All that said, this was fun to watch! Takes me back to the days when I was "good at the game" (translation: spamming missiles in Splat Zones to get to S+1)
I didn’t fully watch the video so I didn’t see you use the n-zap 89 special charge up build. And when I started to play 89 I was like. HMMMMM maybe a special charge build would be good for it.
Aerospray was my main in splatoon 2, I was lowk the best player on splatoon but I’m not even trippin’, it’s not like I deserve a badge or anything or maybe like a trophy.
Salmon Run is my go to way of getting chunks. It’s probably the easiest way to get them because you don’t need to spend time and money scrubbing gear over and over

To help out, special power up makes you charge booyah bombs up faster. Try adding a stack of that on your gear
