Still got a copy of this great EP. I was 14 when it came out and a friend new the lead singer. I remember when they painted made in England on the park keepers hut in the local park for the cover pic, it was on there for years....kingscote park in Layton Blackpool, the building is still there. At that time there was a good local punk scene....regular free gigs of local bands at the bandstand in another local park. Good times!
I've still got my copy too,bought when I was 12 or 13 while on holiday,got it from the record shop on the seafront,like your story about the cover.I bet a few bottles of Merrydown were drank up at that shed,a great era that was.
Back to our oi survey with a little known band that officially released only two e.p. and one single in their short existence' Antisocial formed in 1981 in Blackpool under the name Hate Of The City (after the Cockney Rejects song) and at first contained six members. A name change to Antisocial and shedding of two members saw the band revert to a line up of Sid vocals, Woz guitar, Daz bass and Spig drums. After just one local gig supporting One Way System, they were offered a deal by local promoter/record label owner Barry Lights who issued the bands first release, a seven track demo entitled New Punks. The favorable press and demo led to supporting gigs with the The Business, The Adicts and The Fits as well as Beat The System (Barry Lights label) releasing Anti Social´s first record, Made in England.
