I started reselling seriously mid March 2024. I have never sold on eBay but was familiar with posh…I have loved watching your content because it is so helpful. I’m at $890 total sales on eBay and above standard rating. Thank you please keep the videos coming!! Also thanks for sharing techs channel love all the info. 🙌🏼👍🏻
Thank you for watching! Glad my videos and Tech’s videos are helpful to you!
You're a natural in front of a camera. Really makes the videos work so well and I always learn something. Thank you!
I appreciate that!
Loving this series, congrats on the sales! If you have time to add in how you are doing your bookkeeping for the new store, that would be super helpful for us newer resellers. I had to play catch-up last year as I did not keep any records other than my bank account and tax time was a doozie. I’d love to see the process from the beginning.
I’m not great with bookkeeping either, I play catch up at the end of the year. It’s easier having a separate bank account for only business expenses. I recommend checking out Simplified Accounting with Cheryl on TH-cam!
Having a thermal printer for sales on eBay & Amazon is a life changer! I'm enjoying seeing you succeed!!
Thank you for watching!!
Agreed. It is such a hassle to print and tape labels especially when you factor in paper and ink costs. Love my thermal printer.
It took me way too long to get one. I asked for one for Christmas and it has been a game changer for sure. Mine is an off brand but works great.
Thermal printer is amazing wish I had it years ago instead of wasting ink and paper nevermind the folding and taping urgh I don’t miss those days
Playing noises beat complete silence every time. At least you know they arent getting into any trouble.
That’s for sure!
Love watching this happening. If you have time would love like a half month update. Great work, very inspirational!
phew, im much older than you and i call my good finds bangers, too. made me feel good to hear you say that. 😂
Thank you, Carrie, so great to see you picking up awesome items and making sales, yayyyy! Congrats on hitting the 1K milestone AND the Dymo pick up! 🥰
Thank you so much!!
Great video. My kids watched this one with me. They loved the face by the airplane and had me replay it lol.
Lol nice! Glad they enjoyed it 😂
Found your videos at the right time. Very encouraging for someone like me. Love hearing your kids in the background. Great job.
Welcome aboard!
I do reselling for almost a year now and always love too learn! This was my first video watching you and it was great! I will be subscribing! Thank you 😊
Welcome aboard!
Love your channel and love this challenge! Thanks for sharing your awesome journey!💜
I’m enjoying this so much! It shows you’re purchasing the right items! Love it!
I’m glad you’re enjoying it!!
What a great score! You're doing great so far I can't wait to see your next update 😊
Thank you!! 😊
Thanks for posting the video, as a newer "reseller" I have found your content to be very informative and inspiring when it comes to your processes. Although I've been a seller on Ebay since 2009 watching your channel has convinced me that it's time to open a new sellers account / store front for products that I would like to start focusing on. Keep up your hard work and dedication to home, family & your financial goals.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching :)
The "playing" noises are hilarious.. were they playing Jurassic Park?😂
I have absolutely no idea 😂
You’re doing an awesome job!!Great information for us new resellers . Appreciate you !!
Nice work! That face following the plane made me crack up. 😆 I found 4 or 5 nicer golf pieces at the bins yesterday and was happy about that. I live in the southwest in the middle of the desert so we don't have as much golfing around here. Wishing your new store continued success!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Our favorite series !
I love all your stickers with the positive vibes on your desk =)
Me too! They’ve been sent in from viewers!
Amazing inspiration! Great job. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!
Great vid as always Carrie thank you! I can DEFINITELY related to having the screaming kids in the background while I work and film 😂😂
Lol! They’re living their best life :)
Crazy good deal on the dymo! So happy for you. Thanks for sharing your journey!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!
You got robbed on that wrangler Pearl snap 😢
Can you make a video of your "bread and butter" jeans brands? That would be wonderful.
Great video! The printer is a game changer saves so much time 💕 from Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺
It really does!
Love the St. Louis Cardinals Jersey. Go Redbirds!
lol the look on your face during all the noise 😂
Great Video, I am a new subscriber. I can't wait to see your progress. I am a big jean seller also and just started adding t-Shirts to my inventory.
Thanks for subbing! We’ve got this! 💪
I found your channel a few days ago. Been enjoying your content! I’ve picked up that kjus a few times before and it’s done well.
Welcome aboard! Yea, it’s a brand I’ll be looking for more :)
Great video ! Love this series that you are doing ! ❤
Thank you!
Good going Carrie🎉
Thank you!
I have 4 boys. I can relate to the playing demon noises. 😂😂😂
That’s exactly how I described it to Kyle! Lol
Great video hope the cards and stickers come in handy, keep up the great work. Your smashing it.
Thank you so much for the gifts!! That was a very pleasant surprise!
100% get a thermal printer! I am a new seller and don't have a niche, but the $50 thermal was the best investment I made in my store! Saving money on ink and a bulky printer is the best 🤙🤙
Love the series! Going to be a llloooonnnnggggg wait until next month. Lol
I may do them sooner! Just trying to focus on store growth now that I have all my supplies and tools :)
Great series! Inspiring!!!
Glad you think so!
Killer score on the printer!
Yes!!
I just done my first Whatnot Show that you suggested and have started clearing excess stock out,
i will be doing something like this and start from scratch. Let's see if I have learnt anything
Best of luck!
Ahhh no I think you got sniped on that Patagonia. I sold one like that for $75 and there were even better comps. Pretty sure it’s from the 70s. Great sales tho!
Ebay has made selling easy. I'm at over $4 million in sales.
Nice job!
your sooo lucky to have the bins near you. the bins are crap for us. we tried them a month straight and they are filled with stuff that should be in trash can. so we have to stick to high priced shirts at 5.00 or higher at good will.
Great video , thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching!
Thermal printer you need one😊
Love this series! Have you considered delving into business savings or putting money aside for taxes? I noticed all of your money (at least what you're showing) is going into the budget to spend more. I know this is a bonus account... but could be some good content to add.
I was going to do a challenge similar to this too. I just finished up a different challenge starting with just $5. That plane was super angry. lol. Great sales and progress! You really didnt like printing those paper labels. Haha.
Nice job! Multiplying money is so fun :D and yea, going from thermal to home printer was the biggest reality check I had in this challenge lol
Can you make a video on the thermal printer? I purchased one and it's printing sideways. I don't know how to fix it. Lol
Great job!
Thanks!
I wish I had a clue about clothes, but I barely know how to dress myself. We have tons of places to source near me. I'm just gonna have to stick to books and ephemera. It's what I know. Great video, thank you!
That’s good on you for sticking to what you know! That’s what ultimately important!
New to your channel but Kyle is a lucky man you are smart and beautiful! Really enjoyed your video I sell everything but am changing more to shirts and clothing. Thank you for the information.
Thanks for the sub! Welcome aboard :)
Your channel is awesome! I'd love to start doing some of this in order to partially supplement my income - even if its just a little bit. Could you please recommend some good (but yet affordable) A to Z training courses on the subject? I'm sure that there's probably a lot more going on behind the scenes with this business then you are able to cover in your videos - & if I enter this business I want to make sure I have a precise detailed plan of action that covers all the finer points in order to minimize the possibility of me getting jammed up . Thanks :)
100% look into Technsports TH-cam channel. He is my direct source for learning all of this. He has lots of TH-cam videos to immerse yourself in and when your ready, he has a $35/month community in any category you want to dive into.
I just found us a killer deal in a thermal printer for $30 and love it already ! Also thanks to you we just opened our store and have started running sales and coupons and sales have gone crazy !! By the way can we tip you through PP so you won’t have to pay a cut of your tip ? You have helped us so much !
That’s amazing to hear! I don’t have PayPal but “buy a coffee” only takes 5% and I’m okay with that! I’m just very happy to hear you’ve found success in your sales!
@@carrieathome you have coffee ! Thanks again !
Gary and Tammy Hartline
@@DaydreamAboutNiceThings thank you!! ☕️😊
One of my sales goals is to be able to buy a demo for XL printer. Do you recommend any classes on how to edit TH-cam videos? What equipment do you film with? I really need as a single mom to start selling $500-$1000 a month on average to help my budget love your style and glad I found your channel.
I use my iPhone 11 to film and CapCut to edit the videos. I don’t know what to recommend for learning to video edit, I’m self taught from many, many years ago. I do turn to TH-cam from time to time to learn how to do specific editing styles. You can learn a lot from TH-cam! :D
@@carrieathome thanks for replying! I am excited to resell again and hope to do TH-cam this time around
Aloha Carrie,
Thank you very much for sharing your journey with the world. I wanted to ask if youre tracking items line by line or are you keeping track with overall total/#of items? Thank you for your time🙏
I do overall total and # of items these days but starting out I did item by item so I understood my numbers well. :)
@@carrieathome Thank you very much. I guess, I’ll have to do it to see for myself and eventually graduate from it🙏
Why not use same storage as main store? It would work great for shirt store as well. Great sales. Loving this series as I have thought of creating another store for a particular niche like shirts. Nice find on the thermal printer. I love my Dymo 4XL. I recently bought a wireless Rollo to add to the arsenal so I can have flexibility on my shipping station.Keep Crushing It!! Stay HUMBLE, Stay HUNGRY, Stay FOCUSED...~The Jarhead Entrepreneur
I will be! I needed to save up enough money in the shirt store budget to buy the supplies to start it :) glad you’re loving the series!
Yo that jersey you have on is 🔥
Gotta represent! 🔥
Just found your channel this morning, and have been binge watching your videos. After being away from ebay for years, I'm in the process of getting back into it as a side hustle. One of the reasons for subscribing to your channel is that we live in the same state, and I'm in the area of the city that is about 200 or so miles southwest of you. This shirt store shows us what it is like to start from scratch, and I like that. I watched your jeans videos, but am curious about turning worn out jeans into shorts. As you know, men's jeans show waist and inseam sizes. So how do you list them after you have turned them into shorts?
You list the waist measurement and then say what the inseam is, for example:
Levis Shorts Mens 34 Black 569 Relaxed Straight 9” Stretch Denim (9” being the inseam)
It would be the same for women’s shorts
How's the new store doing carrie? I know you just started, but how would you compare selling pants to shirts? Which has better profits? More returns?
Those are good questions! After I’ve been selling shirts more, I’ll do a comparison. My shirt knowledge is still way less than my pants knowledge.
GREAT deal on the Dymo!
Right?! I was in disbelief!
Hi Carrie,
You are getting a lot of sales. Bravo!
Did you get a store subscription?
How important is a store subscription for ... let's say about 300 listings?
Thanks.
I haven’t gotten a store subscription yet, I’m holding off until I run out of free listings or my inventory is getting to be about 6 months old. Maybe sooner but that’s the plan for now :)
Cute kids.....do you source for both stores mainly at goodwill bins? I'm in northeast PA and the closest bins for me is 2 hours away. I guess I can take some trips a few times a month. I'm sure my kids will love that ;-)
For the shirt store, I have been focused on just the bins but I started my jeans store just at the bins too! I like learning at the bins because the lessons learned are cheaper than from the retail stores. For my main store, it’s 50/50 bins and retail now that we know what we’re picking up!
I hurt my back and have been off work since February. I've been on eBay for 20 years but I've just been doing it for extra money. It doesn't look like I'm gonna be able to work my old job anymore and was thinking about selling on ebay full-time. I live in a really small town, Actually not very far from you Carrie. I live out past Washington, A little town called New Haven.
Sell that Cardinals jersey. I hate them but that’s a cool jersey!
Lol! Are you a Cubs fan by chance? 😆
@@carrieathome Nah, A Mets and Red Sox fan. The Mets Cards 1980's showdowns were epic
Get a thermal printer. You will be so happy, no ink, no tape
Make a vlog again. Those were good
I think I will!
You could have gotten peal and stick labels from UPS free. After you make an account witch is free. Before you got the printer.
is there a reason you specialize each shop to one specific item? like jeans/shirts. would you recommend specializing?
I only did it to keep data separate. I’ll combine the two stores into my main store eventually :)
I just came across your channel, watched a few videos and subscribed. This may have been answered in another video, but you've mentioned that you washed the clothes you purchased. Do you always wash your used clothes? Including jeans? I've read some opinions online from people who do and some opinions from people online saying they don't because it may damage / distress the clothing. And some people who just run a steam cleaner over their clothes to get out wrinkles / germs. Any opinions? Also I'll keep watching your videos for more info as they've been helpful so far!
Welcome! Washing pre-owned clothing is an ebay policy. Not sure what the policies are on other platforms.
Please show how to open eBay accounts and other's,.
Wow you’re absolutely smashing it well done! Anyone from uk know if we have a sourcing facility even remotely similar? (Apart from charity shops) Cheers
Thank you! I’m not sure from what I hear from other UK sellers. The closest thing would probably be your carboot sales (it’s still not the same but it’s a large assortment of stuff all in one place!)
I have a question. My husband and I have been watching your videos and have been wondering do you offer free shipping for your clothing items? Also how do you list on your computer ? I know you plug in your phone and it uploads them but how do you know what pants are which and the sizing and all of that without going to every picture and zooming in ? Great videos they have helped us out a ton! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! I charge a flat rate shipping on every item :) we take a photo of the sku number right after photoing the item to keep the sku and item together
Thank you. I would be interested in becoming a customer of yours on eBay how could I find your eBay to browse and purchase something?
How do you do $6.99 now with ebay disclosing shipping to buyers or do you still do the 6.99
@@marisolbermudez9817 I heard they disclose the pricing if the seller uses calculated shipping. Regardless, I’m still using my flat rate shipping policies :)
@@carrieathome oh ok 👍
nice musial jersey
10:40 🤣🤣🤣 sounds like a zoo.... are you sure you dont have more than just a few?
Lol I know! They have wild imaginations!
You may be covered this in a past video, but what do you mean by unlocking the dymo printer? I scored a dump 4xl printer last week for $7. I cannot figure out how to get it connected to my computer, lol. It’s an older printer. Maybe there were supposed to be a CD with it for installation?
You’ll need to go to Dymos website and install their driver software for the 4xl :)
I “unlocked” the printer, meaning I can now use the one I already have for my other store since I bought a replacement :)
Congrats on your sales. I'm so curious, what is the minimum sell through rate percentage that you are willing to accept before picking up an item for your store?
I aim for 50% sell thru, that shows me it’s got healthy numbers!
@@carrieathome That's awesome. Thanks so much. I need to work on better sell through rate myself.
Oh man, we have to wait a month to get updates??
I have heard a good majority of you wanting updates sooner than a month! I will aim for 2 updates a month!
She is a mother, wife, a business owner and TH-camr she is hustling! ❤ she can post whenever she can
Do you find that $6.99 covers your cost for shipping a shirt anywhere in the lower 48 states? Thanks
Yea! I think because I’m centrally located in the US and I am close to a post office distribution center, it keeps my shipping cost down.
How can you always tell when shirts are vintage or not?
By the tags! Most modern shirts are now with screen printed tags. Older shirts have the paper tags. Also, where the shirt was made will help indicate how old it is. Made in USA is almost always vintage (minus the few brands that still manufacture in the usa today)
Hello! Great videos. Do you promote on either one of your stores?
Yes I do in both :)
🔥
Thanks for watching!
How do you deal with the shipping? Say its outside the country
I use the ebay global shipping program so ebay handles all that for me. I don’t know how to directly ship overseas unfortunately
Hey, cool video.. do you use the ebay promotion % and start high to get your product ranked higher or keep it at best offer with no promo? Thanks
I am promoting but I’ve been trying out different amounts. I don’t think someone has to promote to sell their items but I definitely think it helps sell their items faster vs not. But it’s all relative to what the item is, it’s condition, price, market saturation, etc.
There is a nasty word: Taxes. It used to be $20,000 in income before reporting until the new administration lowered it to $600 and a 1099k is coming to your mailbox soon. Not to be a wet willy, but plan on Independent Contractor taxes which are monster because you have to pay your share and the share your employer would pay....adds up to about 30% of income.
Don’t worry! I’ve been self employed for about 8 years now :)
All the sales you showed, you accepted a best offer on all of them, is this the standard way in the clothing sales, or was this your way of making quick sales to get fast $ to reinvest into more growth inventory? (Which I understand the idea if you did)
I am now expanding into clothing sales, I want to do this right.
A bit of both! For my main store, I also accept a lot of offers but I’m taking more aggressive offers on my shirt store to get things moving really fast to reinvest and grow :)
Carrie, do you have an idea of how many hours a week you”ll need to devote to this store to make $3000 a month? Will those earnings be possible being a part-time reseller, or will you need to be full-time?
It can definitely be done in part time hours! I think it’ll take about 1 hour of sourcing and 1 hour of listing/shipping daily.
I found you per the man......the myth.........the guy who doesn't know how to retire........😂 technsports!
2 quick questions.
1. Made in America tag, does that pretty much mean it's a money maker? Or what tags do you see the most that mean win?
2. What pic taking lights are those, I'm limited on room and they look skinny
If the tag says made in USA, it will usually mean vintage. It generally means more money than a not made in USA tag of the same item. But it still depends on what the item is. I have a link to the lights in my Instagram bio if you have Instagram!
If the jeans tag says the length is 30, but the measurement is actually 28, do you list it by the tag or the actual?
If it’s more than 1.5” difference, I list as actual and make a note explaining why I’m doing that to ensure an accurate fit.
@@carrieathome Thank you 😊
Do you set your eBay listing to Seller Pay Return? I do on shirts but thinking about having buyer pay return since there isn't much gross profits on shirts I sell. Typically I make about $7 profit after fee and free shipping. What do you do?
I would charge $6.99 shipping on shirts so that I profit $1-$2 off of shipping and offer free returns. That way when I return comes through I’ve profited enough off of shipping from other orders that the return cost is no issue at all.
Hi always do you check comps. I enjoy your videos? God bless you
For my jeans store, I only check comps on things I’m unfamiliar with/haven’t sold before. But with my shirt store, I’m looking them all up because I’m still clueless on shirts lol
@@carrieathome ja,ja,ja. I did that
