VAN REMOVAL | Rust removal from the Mercedes Sprinter | Campervan self-construction part 2

- We bought a MERCEDES SPRINTER and will now convert it into a camper! In this video we tell you which known rust spots you should watch out for in the Mercedes Sprinter and how to remove them. When we loosened the screws on the base plate, we didn't know what to expect under it. We expected everything from "completely rusty" to "untouched paint". You can find out how everything turned out in the video.

The next step for us will be the insulation of the living area and the installation of all windows and skylights. We spent the last evenings shopping online and ordering all sorts of material.

Hallo, schaut bei den Radkästen noch mal Innen zwischen Bodenblech und Radkastenblech. Da ist ja so eine Klebemasse/Dichtmasse drauf, die einfach überlackiert ist. Oben habt Ihr ja schon eine Stelle, die im Video auch zu sehen ist. Meist ist da auch Rost drunter, obwohl alles gut aussieht. Ich habe da alles herausgepult und dann mit Fön und Pinsel Mike Sanders in die Zwischenräume laufen lassen. Viel Erfolg und Allzeit gute Fahrt !
2012SUSE Hallo! Vielen Dank für den Tipp! Da werden wir auch nochmal nachschauen. Denn im Nachhinein wird man da nicht mehr gut dran kommen! Mike Sanders haben wir auch, aber eher für den Unterboden. Das Zeug dichtet aber auch echt gut ab!
Handschuhe, Schutzbrille und Flipflops:) das sind mir die besten
Haha da hast du Recht 😅 Am ersten Tag war es unglaublich heiß, daher die Flip Flops. Aber die restliche Zeit hatten wir dann doch lieber richtige Schuhe an.
Wow... Seid schon weit gekommen. Amaflex, Bodenplatte, dann kommt das beste. Der Innenausbau. Bin gespannt, was Ihr euch da einfallen lasst.

Super woher kommt ihr
Hey wir kommen aus der Nähe von Koblenz 🤗
Hallo, ich will die Verkleidung am Einstieg Fahrer und Beifahrerseite abmontieren um nach zuschauen ob Rost sich befindet. Ich habe alle schrauben gelöst aber ich bekomme die verkleidung nicht ab. Habt Ihr ein tip wie man das löst? :) Danke für eure tolle Hilfe.
Hallo, meistens werden bei der Trittstufe die zwei Schrauben in der Mitte vergessen. Diese sind durch zwei kleine Abdeckungen aus Plastik verdeckt und oft nicht mehr zu unterscheiden vom Rest der Stufe. Schau mal ob du mittig auf der Stufe zwei Plastik Kappen entdeckst. Diese können dann mit einem Schraubenzieher aufgehebelt werden und darunter sollten sich nochmal Schrauben befinden. Liebe Grüße und viel Erfolg!

Hey, vielen Dank, unserer ist von 2010 😊 Mit dem Rost hatten wir an sich noch echt Glück, denn Mercedes rostet wirklich gerne mal. Vor allem die Plastik Abdeckungen an der Seite sind tückisch! Dahinter verbirgt sich meistens Rost. Liebe Grüße und viel Erfolg 🤗
