Hey Dave, I always thought the reason Loomis touches the grass and feels the blood is to reinforce the questioning of the supernatural aspect of Meyers "I shot him 6(7) times!" and the continuing devolution of Loomis' own mental health as there's now actual blood on his hands "you did this, you let him out!" In the same way the suburbs which were supposed to feel safe and far removed from the big city is being portrayed as isolated and full of paranoia. They each mirror one another.

I’d put Loomis from H1, H2, and H4 in the top spot. H5 Loomis would be in the third spot and H6 Loomis in the second spot. He doesn’t do much in H6 but it’s still a nice subtle performance. In H5 he’s batshit crazy but still fun to watch. Not sure where I’d put the Zombie Loomis performances. They’re fine but those movies and the characters in them don’t feel like anything in the Halloween universe to me, so it’s hard to judge. I’d put Kills Loomis near the bottom because the voice acting is too over-the-top. “The evil is heeeeeaaaah! Did Michael kill agaaayyyyn?!” He sounded better in the recording in H18. The look of Loomis in Kills was great but with the voice I find it pretty awkward.
I always felt that the imprint myers left on the lawn in H2 was more due to the impact he hit the floor with after falling from such a height. But yes it does look comical and would have been better without

Dave, aren't there only 3 Loomis? The OG greatness of Donald Pleasence, Flashback Loomis in K-lls and Malcom McDowell? Or do we count the sort of but not really Loomis like the when Marcus Dunstin wrote Gary Oldman into the Halloween Returns script? If so 1.) Donald Pleasence (obviously a legend, elevated every scene he was in both Halloween and Halloween 2) 2.) Gary Oldman 3.) Tom Jones (serviceable for the short time he was on screen) 4.) Malcom McDowell (sometimes not even a great actor can elevate a crappy movie)
The Terrifier 3 trailer had a nice little black Christmas tribute. Maybe Damien Leone is tipping his hat to you. Same day release and all that. Or maybe it's just coincidence.

The best version of Dr. Loomis was 1 and 2 he was calm and reasonable and wasn't acting crazy like the other sequel's
I would have raised H5 Loomis a tier higher just for that one monolog by itself and knowing that H5 was not his fault.
He still played the character as bat-shit crazy/creepy in H5.
