      Hi Angel, I am a long time quacker. I still enjoy your shows and love the work you, John and the team do. Keep the new designs coming. I especially enjoy when you sprinkle in stories or the occasional photo of Jeanne, please continue to do so. I would love to see the set recreated the way it was when Jeanne did the shows. I also love Finnigan and Nori. Quack, Quack!!!

    Jokes aside, a lot of Jean’s clothing was of the highest quality. Beautiful embroidery details, the continuation of decoration theme along the back shoulder, and quality materials made them special. And her removable resin button covers on her sweaters were some of the most unique and wonderfully made embellishments I’d ever seen. Her seasonal sweaters were so whimsical that it wasn’t any wonder they were favorites among teachers of elementary school-aged children.

    I remember her on 50 in 50. I couldn’t get on the phone fast enough to buy one of her shirts. Literally. I couldn’t get on fast enough because it sold out that fast. Her clothes were so fun and comfortable. I had trouble with the tops being short because I am tall with a long torso but they definitely weren’t skimpy. She was such a joy to watch. Always so positive.

      yea…the 50 in 50 was fun. I remember buying great big apples from Washington State and cherries. I did Jean Bice’s farm shirt and later some of her other stuff for my mom…the buttons… then I had this epiphany… QVC at that time did not sell much in petites so I quit watching

    Thanks for the memories! Jean was always a joy to watch and listen to.
    Most of her clothes had too much going on for my taste, but I did get a couple of denim shirts with country patchwork Christmas angels and one with garden angels, yes garden, not guardian angels. Both shirts had the clip on button covers that disappeared when my granddaughters were visiting. They actually had them on their sweaters when mom picked them up. Lol! Anyway, still have the shirts and still in pretty good condition after 20 years. God bless Jean and may she rest in peace! 🙏

    Your video was surprisingly entertaining, I didn’t know much about Jean Bice’s background, even though I bought some clothes from her line from way back in the day. My mom used to volunteer at a rehab facility and she told me that the residents of the facility always enjoyed seeing the fun, brightly colored embellishments of the volunteers’ clothing if they were wearing Quaker Factory and often the banter about the clothes would ease the mind of the resident and conversations could start to flow. I still watch Angel Smedley when she appears on QVC. Thanks for the well-done retrospective!

    I'm the kind of person that needs some sort of background noise. In the 90s I had my one and only successful pregnancy (unfortunately, three others did not work out), and I was an avid watcher of QVC through that entire decade. 50 on 50 was a fantastic idea and although it was a challenge to try to get in, all those companies were so great to watch. Jeanne was always hilarious. Like you, I didn't find anything I liked in her clothes but I loved watching her. In fact, the personal summer line and "men are good to take out the trash" were lines that I say all the time now and I know it's because I saw her saying them first. I know it's part of marketing but just like Richard Simmons dolls, I truly felt their excitement about the stuff they sold. If you love your products, it''s easier to sell. Wonderful video. Thanks for the memories. Now I'm off to the QVC page to see if they have anything I'm interested in.

  • @mommyquackquack1825

    I loved the bling, embroidery, emblems, embellishments etc. It's was unique clothing, not made for everyone. You needed to be somewhat flamboyant person to pull it off. I loved the holiday sweaters. This is not the same old stuff you could see your self coming and going in from big box stores. I miss her and the items she presented. Angel is nice but the clothing has changed too much for me to want to buy it and it's cheap quality now. I liked that they cut the item true to size or give a little extra room. Especially if you had a difficult time finding a button up top to actually fit without gaping or having to pin it together.

    • @Truelyblue333
      @Truelyblue333 ปีที่แล้ว

      While she seemed to be an amazing person full of energy and positive attitude that clothing line was hideous. Just my opinion. I’m happy she was able to accomplish the success she did. You’re certainly correct in saying it was not made for everyone. It did and currently still will take a somewhat flamboyant person to pull her designs off. It was/is so gaudy. I cant imagine wearing any of it not even as a costume. 😂

    Watched Jeanne Bice for years. Such a nice woman. Bought Quacker Factory including Dream Jeans. Those clothes last forever. Washed beautifully. Don’t watch like I used to. They “fired” a few of the older hosts and I don’t care for some of the newer ones. The quality has gone down on much of their inventory. Plus shipping and return fees have gone up. They don’t offer free shipping very often either.

      @@Lisa-je5bb I liked Dan and Caroline. Just nice people. Know QVC wants to appeal to a younger demographic but they are like most corporations when someone is in their late 50’s or early 60’s, let them go so the benefits aren’t as expensive. Happened to me, my dad, my husband and many individuals I worked with. Too many years of service gets expensive.

    Her clothing was definitely not my taste - it gave “granny on a cruise or at the casino” vibes. However, Jeanne Bice was hilarious and a natural TV personality.

    I love Jeanne Bice and her clothes. I always got a bunch of complements. Since I am now 70, I don't go through clothes like I used to, but still buy on occasion. I miss her wit.

      It's not the same. In my opinion, the clothing does not have the same quality. Stopped buying it long ago. The Company should have gotten someone that was plus size like Jean with a vivacious, sparkling personality.

    Do you have vids on these two hosts? They were never my fav, but easy to watch, would be fun to catch up with them too!
