As a drama teacher, I can’t tell you how much I love your channel. I teach Tennessee Williams’ Streetcar every year-I hope someday you’ll consider doing that. Thank you!
This story SAVED my grade way back in junior year. I was struggling in second semester, and then BAM! We were to spend a few weeks reading this. What the teacher did not know until I revealed it in my final essay was that I was volunteering at the local theater weekly and this play had been shown for almost two months there, ending a mere month before we started to read it. Thanks to seeing the play repeatedly, I knew all about it and managed to ace every assignment and assessment, finally earning that A.
It's 2024, and I have5 just discovered Thug Notes. If had found this channel ten years ago, I would have used it in as an aid in my college freshman English class.
Btw, I hope this different take on literature brings more people back to reading or interest young people to give great literature and it's modern equivalent a try. It is my humble opinion that there is nothing more satisfying than a good book with a good film being a close second. Thanks to all of the people who work hard to put out Thug Notes. A special yo player you're the best shout out to the host. Man, you are doing your thing with a style that will be imitated but never duplicated. You guys really have contributed to all those who enjoy learning. Now go forth knowing that you did your small part in helping humanity! 😎
And a play like this you must watch on stage. It’s so much better. Same with Shakespeare. We’re always reading it, but it’s soooo much better and more understandable on stage.
@Nexcion153 Yess! I agree. Sadly I didn't come across any production of this particular play that truly captures the essence of plastic theatre/memory play by using the screen images, lighting, music, and props. Most of them exclude atleast one aspect of it for practical reasons. :(
Yes, since Blade Runner 2049 is still fresh, do the "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" as one. Also, I wouldn't mind if you do a review on Neuromancer by William Gibson some day.
Actually I'm doing a thesis of Tennessee Williams and this video appears today in my suggestions. And now I'm like "OMG this is gold" I love your video, man! Beautiful analysis!! I'm Mexican, so, I speak Spanish, but your video make me really think about the importance of the sound of the words for my Investigation work. 💕💕💕
It's been such an awesome journey following you from back when it was just Thug Notes. I can't wait to see where you guys continue to go, and if you cover Streetcar Named Desire, Unbearable Lightness of Being, and even more Shakespeare! Hands down, my favourite channel on YT.
Honestly, the casual nature of these makes for literally some of the most succinct summaries. IDK if you are still making these, but somebody else should pick up the mantle.
ThugNotes, a few months ago, stopped producing videos as frequently as it used to. It's a fact, not an opinion. I know because I've been a fan for over four years.
Hard Times by Charles Dickens, Everyman the play, Dead Man Walking by Tim Robbins, Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy, I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak, Manhattan Transfer by John Dos Passos, Quicksand by Nella Larsen, Passing by Nella Larsen, Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt, Measure for Measure, Henry V, Henry IV Part 1 and Part 2, and Richard III by William Shakespeare, The Mill on the Floss by George Eliot, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan, Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, The Eyre Affair by Jasper Forde, White Noise, Falling Man, Libra, Point Omega, and The Names by Don DeLillo, Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Sliver Eyes by Scott Cawthon and Kira Breed-Wrisley, Growing Around: Party Panic by John “Enter” Rozanski, and Small Town by me(Justin Kennon)
This is my absolute favorite play of all time. But ever since I got into it, I've noticed that I am too much like Laura IRL; anxiety, extreme shyness, obsession with unicorns, preferring fantasy over reality, we both have a limp, and, no joke, I used to have a crush on a guy named Jim in high school. That's just to name a few. Ironically, Laura is my current dream role.
you do plays too? Like Fences by August wilson. Or if you have to do books how about Native son by Richard Wright!!! Please and thank you! Don't ever stop doing these, I love them!
Thanks Doc Sweets and Wisecrack! Tennessee Williams is one of my favourite playwrights - seeing this notification made my morning. Sweet Bird of Youth would make a fantastic video, as would A Streetcar Named Desire, if you feel like covering more TW.
I like to picture Sparky Sweets staring a one hour and a half long movie where he is reformed gangsta with a phd who's been teaching literature at Harvard University, despite all prejudice from the fancy high-ups and the rich folk surrounding them. When Sparky decides to visit the rough New Yorker neighborhood where he grew up during a vacation, he learns about all the hardships that local youth is going through and starts a book club to bring them education and security. The movie itself would be a classical family feature for Saturday afternoon enjoyment, where Sparky teams up with his dandy students help this community, whose about to get kicked out of their neighborhood by a greedy construction company.
And this was the last one. What happened? Why are no more of these being made? Some of us don’t kill ourselves because of stuff like this, just so you know
What happened with " Thug Notes". I really love your channel but I really miss this part (still love you`re insite Jarrot and the new additions Helen;) keep up the good work). This is old video and you will not see this comment but me by other viewers know what happened :) P.S. Greetings from Poland, you also have fans here ;)
We need Thug notes back.
No we don't.
@@pastelpurpledeathbed why not , it was the soul of this channel .
@@thescarecrow897 they make better content now

If by better you mean cheaper to make then yes.
Agreed
It's a shame that no more of these are being made
Is that a certain thing? Do you know what's going on with it?

I want all of you who miss thug notes to like this. Me included. I want him to see how much we love his videos!!!💙💙
Thug Notes was the biggest reason I watched Wisecrack
Please bring these back - we miss you, Sparky
It's almost 2024 and I'm still waiting for Thug Notes to come back.
BRINGING THUG NOTES BACK WOULD SAVE 2021
RIP thug notes. You kept it real, G.
As a drama teacher, I can’t tell you how much I love your channel. I teach Tennessee Williams’ Streetcar every year-I hope someday you’ll consider doing that. Thank you!
Thug notes got me an A on a literature essay
Raven Robinson CONGRATS that great.
I bet you're ravin' about it.
Wow! GG

I'm sure this was intentional, but it was on this date in 1944 that The Glass Menagerie was first performed at the Civic Theatre in Chicago.
Will the be a new episode of Thug Notes this year? It's been over 8 months. ::cries::
Please Wisecrack, we need Thus Spoke Zarathustra Thug Notes!
They need to bring these back. Always helped me keep up with class reading when I wasn’t paying attention.
It's 2024, and I have5 just discovered Thug Notes. If had found this channel ten years ago, I would have used it in as an aid in my college freshman English class.
Sparky ! I missed you. Been checking for new podcasts and everything.
Since you read The Glass Menagerie, then read A Streetcar named Desire 😊😩👌
yes. I read in highschool and the symbolism is through the roof
When is this series coming back Wisecrack?! 😩
Bring back Thug Notes. Best content I have seen in years.

You gotta do a streetcar named desire bro! Great video btw
Sugar Ray Ego +
I read that play back in High School.
Streetcar is his best play!!!
Sugar Ray Ego
YES! I LOVE STREETCAR! I always think of The Simpsons episode where Marge tried to stab Flanders. 😂
I been waiting for this one too 😂
An episode on Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? would be awsome.
John Fortney YES
Agreed hard
Yeah please. Read it and don't know what the fuck I read.
Yeah, especially the end.
Yes, since Blade Runner 2049 is still fresh, do the "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" as one. Also, I wouldn't mind if you do a review on Neuromancer by William Gibson some day.
I saw an amazing performance of this on broadway with Sally Field and an actor who played Laura who had disabled legs. It was absolutely incredible.
Please come back bro! 😞
i miss you thug notes! please come back :'(
If your going to start doing Tennessee Williams plays, then you absolutely need to do Cat on a hot tin roof. It’s an amazing play.
In my humble opinion it's one of his best works. Try reading his biography. He led a pretty interesting life.
i miss him
Thug Notes is the only reason why I subscribed to Wisecrack. Keep on educatin' the masses, brother.
I fell in love with Laura when I READ the play. Love her ... I dont think anyone can portray her on stage the way i see her in my head
What about Lego Selena Kyle?
Ew I hate Cats. Im BATman
She's my dream role. I even got to play her in a scene for class, but I'd absolutely LOVE to play her in a full production someday. Preferably soon.
Actually I'm doing a thesis of Tennessee Williams and this video appears today in my suggestions. And now I'm like "OMG this is gold" I love your video, man! Beautiful analysis!! We need more thug notes
Thank you Thug notes for taking it back to the classics. You truly are the best.

It's almost 2025 and I'm still waiting for Thug Notes to come back.
NO MORE THUG NOTES?
I've been heartbeat sweet on Tennessee Williams' plays since High School, but you crank things up to a whole new level of OMG!.....peace out.
The road by Cormac McCarthy
I miss these
Why so long in between Thug Notes?!?!
Quality over quantity.
Been awhile since Wormuloid too lol
i don't know about you, but my word per second max is about 1300
ThugNotes, a few months ago, stopped producing videos as frequently as it used to. It's a fact, not an opinion. I know because I've been a fan for over four years.
jouna lehtiö but so much literature to cover, and so little time.
We miss you Sparky T_T
I need my "Thug Notes"... where are you Dr. Sweets? I hope you're reading to do some more episodes!! Best wishes to you and hope all is well!

I find it funny. Just how many writers tell stories; that, feature characters; who fail to become writers.
"write what you know"
I think you're using semi colons incorrectly
Robert McKinnon it's because we all fail as writers. my 2 books on Amazon have done nothing
314epsilon basically said what I was gonna. You don't become noteworthy overnight, that comes with a shitton of rejection.
Do Eragon by Christopher Paolini!
Need. More. Thug. Notes.
A personal favorite as a suggestion, Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein. Keep up the great work.
The analysis was amazing!!! This will definitely help with my dual enrollment English 3 test coming up

Thanks again for another vibrant, lively synopsis of 'Glass Menagerie.' 👍🏽🤗💖🤝
When are new THUG NOTES episodes coming?!?! Please don't tell me you stopped making it. Sparky Sweets is the best!
Thug Notes needs to make a return.
Can you do a review on Anna Karenina by leo Tolstoy?
why was thug notes discontinued? Best wisecrack content
You’re amazing. Wish you guys posted more
This is my absolute favorite play of all time. Thug Notes is the only reason why I'm still subbed.
You should do the Rime of the Ancient Mariner
R.I.P this series
Yo thug notes where you been?
Bring back thug notes!!
Laura is gorgeous though
I wish I was like Laura in her beauty. I'm like her in nearly every other way; limp, anxiety, unicorn obsession, but not beauty.
LadieLydKyd Beauty is subjective. One man’s 6 is another man’s 10
we need this back
we need more of this, more often like before
7 months without a new thug notes. I hope Wisecrack hasn’t retired this series
Pretty sure he has to read the damn books before he reviews them. That’s why there isn’t enough Thug Notes.
I miss these videos, they were so incredible
you do plays too? Like Fences by August wilson. Or if you have to do books how about Native son by Richard Wright!!! Please and thank you! Don't ever stop doing these, I love them!
The Glass Menagerie is a play.
EasyManatee thanks friend. I was typing that last one have through the video so I did not know. So thank you.
Thanks Doc Sweets and Wisecrack! Tennessee Williams is one of my favourite playwrights - seeing this notification made my morning. Sweet Bird of Youth would make a fantastic video, as would A Streetcar Named Desire, if you feel like covering more TW.
Please do The Importance of Being Earnest
I love and appreciate what you do here, thug notes.
Amanda's voice! lmFao!
Really? I almost closed out of the video because of it
Alex Rocha Just my sense of humor, I suppose 😜
Bring Thug notes back please!!!
whats funny is that I somehow understood this more than an actual book analysis by a professor T - T
