  • The greens at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia are anything but flat, and the players from the U.S. and International teams used them to their advantage during the 2019 Presidents Cup.

It's the 2019 Presidents Cup and Tiger Woods is set to play as captain, only the second in tournament history. When the U.S. Team tees off against the International Team, Woods will lead a stellar group featuring Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas and others. Hoping to stand in the way of a U.S. victory are seasoned pros Hideki Matsuyama, Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen and more. The contest will unfold at Royal Melbourne Golf Club, home to the Presidents Cup in 2011 and 1998 when the Internationals claimed their only victory in the series.

Alister MacKenzie designed some fantastic courses. Great to see Royal Melbourne featured when Augusta National is the only major example we generally see of MacKenzie's work.

It's nice to see a course that makes players work the ball and use the ground rather than some of the average week-to-week bomber golf courses! That's why, even though the condition was a bit rough, Chambers Bay was so interesting to watch with all of the insane shots that were required. Really showcases the skill of the players.
