Dont know if you guys gives a damn but if you're stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the new movies on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend these days xD
Thanks so much. Trying to get back into my weekly schedule. I am sorry I have been rubbish pretty much all year. Moving to Australia and all the change really effected things. I also find it hard to film in the space I have at home in Australia. Hoping to move into an office from the 1st Jan to help. Thank you for your support. Aneka
Videos on knits - yay! After years of sewing I've still not had the courage to sew a knit - I don't have an overlocker and knowing how to sew a stitch that stretches is a bit scary! I'm looking forward to more knit videos to come :) Thanks as always Aneka x
Thank you for your detailed instructions. You are really an awesome teacher. I just picked up sewing 2 months ago & learning a lot from all your . Thank you you much. videos.
Hi my lovely Teacher from Koalaland. You may have been truly busy with your new schedule. Where's your paws?🐾🐾🐕🐕 Your video came at the right moment. I was doing EVERYTHING WRONG on a stretch fabric, needle thread, no zig zag stitch 🥺. The stitches were popping, sewing was horrible so I bundled my project into a ball and stuffed it into a plastic bag, "bye". Watching your video made me open my brain wide. So much can be done with stretchy fabric by changing the needle, 😁🙃 "holy crumbs". Back to school to learn the basics of sewing with Jersey knit fabric. You are a blessing to me. I invested in a Serger yesterday. First I must learn HOW TO THREAD this labyrinth. Why 4 colors of spools??? Once I master the serger I must try it on Jersey knits. You gave me so much homework to do. Getting excited to try them all. Your finished work is SO NEAT, not a piece of thread hanging on your work. 👍👍👍👏👏 you took 10 minutes to show us your work, I'll take 10 days to show you mine🤣 you are calm and a STRESS FREE LADY. Love watching your videos. Your smile is gorgeous and you are truly a beautiful Lady. So glad you were together for awhile. Thanks for sharing and caring. Always thinking of you. Hugs. 😘🍾🍾🍾👍👍👍
Lovely to hear from you. Thank you so much for your lovely message. I am well thank you. Working hard on launching my patterns, some new online classes on my website and an Academy. I will try and make more jersey videos. Aneka x
@@MadetoSew Thanks for the exciting news. Gonna visit your prestigious website. I tried the Jersey knit yesterday but I forgot to change the needle. After all I didn't walk when I was 5 months old, just crawled maybe 😁 Big hugs and THANKYOU
I would be so grateful if you were to put out a "sergers for beginners" course. At any rate thank you so much for all your wonderful knowledge, you've literally taught me everything I know
This may seem like an obvious beginner question, but when you insert the fusible knit interfacing, do you put it fusible side down (towards the front of your garment) or up (directly to the inside of the hem)? Do you fold the hem over then press/iron all 3 layers together or fuse first to one layer, then fold, then just sew? I'd love to see a video with the full process 😊
Hi Angela! This is perfect! Thank you so much for showing and explaining the use of interfacing. I have patterns that recommend it to reduce tunneling but no explanation.
Thank you so much Sandy. I am settling in well now. I am hoping to get an office space from January because I have really struggled to film from my home - there isn't as much room. Hence why I have been rubbish with my TH-cam content all year. My tour around the US was amazing, I loved every second of it and hope that I can go back at some point. Lots of new and exciting things I have planned for the NY - launching my patterns (finally), online classes, and an Academy. So I have been busy. Thank you for all your kindness and support. Aneka xx
I got a double-sided hem tape (Dritz, 1/4"), but I found it wouldn't stick to my fabric. It was double-brushed, so very soft jersey knit, and I wonder if that's the issue? Is there a specific type of wash away hem tape that works best for knits? I saw some fusible options, but I don't want the tape to be permanently in there.
Hi Pearl, I would actually recommend a fusible interfacing in the hem / jersey fabrics. It usually gives it some longevity, as well as helping the stitches to look better. Just use a lightweight stretch interfacing and it shouldn't cause you any issues. Does that help? Aneka
Thank you very much for all your lessons and tutorials... But may I ask for male sewing outfits? Or can you direct me to a similar channel of yours but dedicated to male costumes? Thanks! 🙂
Thank you so much. I literally just finished a business meeting this morning and was talking about one of my aims for the future - mens patterns. I promise they are on my to do list; I just need to launch the ones I have first and then I will move onto Men's for you. Thank you, Aneka
Hi Rosa, you could either shorten the dress (cut in the hem you are not happy with) and hem a little shorter? Or you could unpick the sewing, but it might be easier and less work to shorten it. I would do a test to make sure you can get the hem not wobbly. It sounds like you might need a thicker interfacing to stabilise it a bit more? Feel free to send me a photo and I can take a look. Aneka x
Do you use maxi stretch serger thread? I’ve used it in the upper and lower serger guides and in the bobbin of my sewing machine for the couple of t shirts that I have made. What are your thoughts?
Hi Debbie, I do have some Maxi-Lock stretch thread, however I usually reach for my Wooly Nylon over this (it has more stretch). I pretty much always use Wooly Nylon on very stretchy fabrics, or garments that need to stretch a lot to fit the body (tight fitting); as well as swimwear, lingerie etc. I probably should have mentioned thread in the tutorial, thank you for the question. I will try and add it into the series. Aneka x
So great to have you back. You inspired me to make my daughter a skirt proving Dads can sew! She wears it weekly.

Hi , it is possible to convert old mens shirts to women's top.
Yes you can.
Hi where to buy stretchy interfacing for Knit and Jersey? Your link does not exist (404 not found)?
Hongkong Finish with jersey bias tape. Best.

How often do you send your Bernina 790 in for a service?
About once a year, I think you have to do it so often to keep the warranty in check? Aneka
