Zac is a great performer. Honest. No airs. That's why his fans stay loyal.
I don't know if he still does, but a few years ago he would bring new artists on stage to play a few of their songs. Very generous with up and coming talent.

Great band, no glitz just talent. Saw them perform at the Lincoln County Fair in Afton, Wyoming a couple of years ago. Perfect venue, the stage set in front of the rodeo ring, audience on bleacher seating. Some dust, beer in Solo cups, cowboy boots and hats, smell of horses, nothing better. Fil, thank you for giving attention, respect, and some love to the country artists!

What a fiddle player! Strong traditional Irish-esque intro. Fantastic tone. Subtlety and nuance, fluid note transitions, ease of attack...like Fil said sets the mood. Truly sublime playing.

Fil, Zac Brown Band is one that my son introduced me to several years ago, because I raised him on classic rock. "Dad, you'll really like these guys!" And yes indeed, I did and do!
On the other song (Into the Mystic) we did that for many years in a cover band. We had ten members (3 guitar players, though I and another did not participate on guitar in this one, I just sang), keys, drums, bass, and four horns (but we only used trumpet for this one). One of my favorites to perform back then. FWIW, I've never used auto tune. Not a fan of that sound at all.

I compared you with JRR Tolkien with the journey's that you lead us on, and today's video was an epic adventure. This was the Hobbit's witnessing the Elves's ship sailing over the Sea to their land, but they had a cold beer to drown their tears.
I used to work with Auto-tune back in the 1970's when I started out as a juggie on an oil exploration crew in the Rocky Mountain West. Geologists used it to listen to what the Earth was saying when they shook things up. That's how they find the oil which we are burning. I want to get rid of Auto-tune but also want to stop burning fossil fuels. Which explains my worries about the energy used in the music industry.

Industry Execs always sang Mutt Lange’s praises...he produced and made it very difficult for Artists to perform live because he made them push their vocals then, doctored them up. That is why Joe Elliot and Shania Twain was not very good live. Mutt did a great injustice. As his prime time has past, was he really as good as he thought he was? Especially now when we are hearing great vocalist now that Country has a broader audience.

Autotune as an effect and as a fix are completely different functions performed by the same tool. Much like a paint brush can be used to apply paint, but can also be used to sweep up the dust from sanding a door before painting it. That said, I was personally tired of that cliche effect 20 years ago.

Have you done a Tedeschi Trucks Band reaction? Midnight in Harlem would be a good intro. I’m sure you know Derek trucks already though

Anyone contemplating getting involved with the Music industry should be directed to your channel for an insight into what signing on the dotted line entails. If they want total freedom without intrusion of publicists and industry technicians aka "keeping it real" then your channel is a valuable source of information and advice. I personally feel the Music industry in general is the enemy of raw talent. Don't get me started on how they try and succeed in sexualising their young female signings.

Another great breakdown! Fil I get the feeling that you like young artist trying to start out and that you appreciate some of the differences that country music brains to the table. I would highly recommend this young lady to you to watch and maybe review. She lives up in Tennessee where Jack Daniels was born! She dances plays the fiddle and sings all at once! th-cam.com/video/cSSs4KUCEDE/w-d-xo.html

Anytime you get blocked, search for a terrible performance of the artist and break it down.

It seems auto tune is useful for one of those dancing singer girls. Man you know how hard it would be to run a hundred yard dash and then sing God Save the Queen. This guy isn't Ted Nugent, so unless he doesn't want any mistakes, he probably doesn't need it.

But Phil, staying within your range won't win you those all-important talent contests.(extreme sarcasm) talent shows are ruining the artistic community. Just my opinion.
