While I don't disagree with this, I would say that their track *Permanent* could compete for most emotional KL song, at least lyrically. That track really hits the soul.
@@thegameslave2 Permanent really is a very emotional track, but I think Sit & Mourn gets the title when you know that Bryan's grandma passed out recently. The song manages to get even heavier.
This song was my favorite during this albums release. The emotional theme and vibes from it just genuinely stuck to me and made me appreciate the band even further. Never did I expect that in the same year it released, that it would also be the year that I would also lose my mother to alcoholism. Now it hits differently and harder, to the point where it becomes harder to not tear up whenever listening to it. "You won't go before you're supposed to." Is probably the most impactful lyric and album title I have had yet to deal with in my entire life. That and "God has a plan for everyone" are lines that fuel me with grief, anger, and so much hindsight. I hate that I am making so many realizations on mistakes and things we could've done differently, only after such loss. She shouldn't have gone like this. She wanted to live. Cherish your loved ones as much as you can. You just never know when it could just suddenly end.
Rest In Peace to your homies ❤ I just recently lost both of my best friends & my grandpa this is one of those songs that just say it all for us bro. Stay strong 🫡
My dad died suddenly about 9 months ago. I didn’t know I was looking for this song but it’s chilling how it found me when I needed it most. If you’ve ever felt like a song was written specifically for you, that’s exactly how this feels for me. Every line is so perfectly fitting. It’s so intense and heavy yet sooo overwhelmingly emotional. Thank you knocked loose for this incredible gift you’ve given me.
Lost money coming up 6 years ago in September. Stay strong man. I’d like to say it gets easier, but it doesn’t. You just get better at hiding it. It’ll come in waves, but they are crashing waves. It’s hard to explain. Like I said. Stay strong bubba. 🖤
For those asking for the lyrics, here you go! Verse 1: Collecting petals of every memory All I'm left with is all I know (I know) Finding my own time to sit and mourn Grief that spreads but will not show Every season weighed by all we went through Brought back by a voice unknown You won't go before you're supposed to Verse 2: I will break your fall I will shield you from disdain I will get us both home I will do whatever it takes Verse 3: A test at every turn All I focus on is strength I will carry you through fire Loss we share means swallowing pain Will you inherit my grief If I finally choose to sleep? I pulled from the root and found more blood This life can bе way too much [Outro] "Why'd you leave?" "I feel like I'vе failed."
This song is a perfect example of why music exists... it all just comes to you whatever you're gonna feel, no thinking needed. Just listen as God intended.
The instrumentals from 1:53 until 2:27 are so disgustingly heavy, but also bring forward such raw emotion. Greatest section of the album in my opinion.
It strongly reminds me of the Downfall Of Gaia's Suffocating in the Swarm of Cranes opening track [Vulnus], which truly hit me hard. This hits way harder.
@@24p0 Downfall of Gaia mentioned on a Knocked Loose track, holy shit based. It absolutely has that vibe to it, I'm glad I'm not the only one that made that connection 🤘
few other bands can properly convey this kind of despair in all aspects of the composition. this song will live in my bones for the rest of my life. i miss my parents
I’d like to preface this by saying this is my favorite album of the year, but dear god, that outro is just… otherworldly. I cannot get enough of it. It’s one of my favorite musical pieces in years, and I’m not quite sure why. It’s simple, but it just resonates on all the right frequencies
My favorite off of the new album by far. The haunting guitar in the background, pure goosebumps. This is one of the elements I enjoy most about KL work. The moments of almost complete silence before the chaos erupts.
Very fitting title for this song as my dear Grandmother passed away this day two years ago. Lit a candle for her. Can't wait for the mailman to arrive with my copy of this and Vault of Horrors by Aborted. Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!
One of the best metal songs I've ever listened to. YWGBYST is filled with so much intensity, and to cap it off with something full of emotion like Sit & Mourn, a song that can't have more than 100 words, but makes you feel grief, sadness, loss, etc., as if it was a full album while still keeping the same intensity just goes to show the limitless ability these dudes have. Legitimately one of my favorite albums of all-time, and every time I listen to it or watch a reaction video, I find something else that enhances those feelings. Knocked Loose forever.
they really put my two favorite elements (bryan singing about death and an ethereal mid-register lead over a breakdown) into one song, easy AOTY and easy best knocked song
This is so good. Haunting, sad, and beautiful all at the same time. I heard Bryan say there were some Gojira influences when they were writing and it shows here. Stellar closer.
New fan of Knocked Loose and this album closer blew me away. The way Bryan sings the "I will carry you through fire!" is so good! There's hints of progression that they could use on their next album. It's masterful. This album is going to be hard to beat this year 🔥
Lost my mom 13 years ago to cancer. The calm. The pain. The acceptance. Is immaculate. This song emotionally is outstanding. Lyrics. Guitar's. Idk if that was the intention but man they wrote this too me 😂😢
It brings me so much joy that they’re trying to be experimental in ways that also express these kinds of emotions, Permanent was my favorite track by them until this record dropped, now it’s this one. I hope they continue making tracks like this, I think it absolutely hits home with a large demographic of their fanbase, it’s beautiful and agonizing all at the same time. “Why did you leave” fucking sent me
You have my condolences for your loss, Jessica. Time doesn't heal wounds like this, we just get used to them. Let this loss inspire you to live. Take care.
Feny killed my brother who was 11 months older then me one week ago.. if this record didn't exist I wouldn't of made it this far. I've lost my entire tribe warriors and all. Thanks for this healing
I never would’ve imagined Knocked Loose would’ve thrown in some post rock influence to their sound. And it ended up being one of the best moments in their discography so far.
This is definitely my favorite KL song. I’m all about catchy riffs and melody. This has it all. Wish they take this approach going forward. Such an emotional song.
Hearing this for the first time completely blind at the end of YWGBYST in a single full uninterrupted listen was like being Batista Bombed through a table emotionally. May be my favorite album of the year.
Definitely the most emotional Knocked Loose song, but dear god this is one of their best songs EVER
While I don't disagree with this, I would say that their track *Permanent* could compete for most emotional KL song, at least lyrically. That track really hits the soul.
Them lyrics just hit home
The sample "why'd you leave" gets me every time, then the sample at the end as well. This song hits hard.

I went to school with them, idk how ppl like them, there singing/ vocals are pretty bad.. I was even cool with Brian,.but he sounds like Mickey mouse

I did. We did. The pit was fkn brutal and beautiful at the same time. Heartaches and chaos ensued the entire night in St. Petersburg.
we really got the shortest and the longest knocked loose track in the same album
It's only 4 seconds longer than Permanent but still, true
@@SvenirPermanent is such a banger
Speechless. Probably THE BEST ending song of KL’s catalogue. “Permanent” is next.
Everything is quiet now is up there too
@@damiendelvallee7256 I would normally say this doesn't count, but I love it so much, IT DOES GOD DAMMIT!!
Permanent is one of their best songs. In terms of emotion put into it, it’s second only to this song.
@@damiendelvallee7256That song and Deep in the hollow should have been on this album. Would have made it perfect.
The vocals of this band are terrible gtfo
These guys really are masters of doing heavy and haunting simultaneously.

This track just brings an emotion to the surface that is very hard to describe, but you know what it is when you feel it.
this is now my new favorite Knocked Loose song, and it's probably the best off of the album, which is already probably their best so far
