I love and adore Guthrie, not just his incredible music, whether feeling a chosen or channeled note of his muse and improv, or having a technique or swept or rhythmic run slack my jaw, but his philosophies and humor, even the sound of his voice and accent and breathing, he’s simply an incredible person. No pretentiousness bc he’s so genuinely freakishly good, and it all grows from his loving music down to the bones of him. The dedication that allowed his “disciplined playfulness” and exploration, essentially his practiced talent, is astounding. I grew up as a teenager in Chicagoland watching Michael Jordan all over the place. Such well rounded artists have so much to teach about life. Oh and go check out max ostro. Polymusics both.
This man completely changed my view on the guitar and on the music! And I feel like my musicality and the way to play guitar are newly born! He´s a gift for us musicians! And by the way: don´t try to be like Guthrie Govan! If you´ve listened to him carefully (in other interviews), you might have recognized, that he´s able to play what he´s hearing in his head! And this is the aim! Not to sound like him! Sound like YOUR head! Cheers :)
@hldemi It looks like a St Peter's glass. St Peter's are a brewery from Bungay, Suffolk, in the U.K. So he's possibly drinking one of theirs. Maybe Suffolk Gold? If so it's an English Ale. They're beautiful beers. They export a lot so you should be able to get hold of some, but make sure you drink it at the correct temperature 10 - 13 degrees celcius.
@hldemi Look in part 2 of the video and there's a close up of the glass with the St Peter's glass and it looks the sort of colour of Suffolk Gold. If you have no joy try 'Beers of Europe'. You should be able to get it there. I'd say the beer is very warm as his fingers are probably red hot from shreding all day :-) Cheers. Steve Laney.
@CuntreeBoy Well you based a lot on speculation about what glass looks like and that He drinks the same beer as glass indicates . Anyway thx on the tip . I will try to get one of those . There is a "house of beer " in Zagreb so there must be some of those . Also , Guthrie hold the glass so long that the temperature must be quite high :D
Great interview, Guthrie comes across as a really great guy and is an amazing guitarist.
A nice, humble, intelligent, witty and talented man.
Nice interview. The guy asks some good questions and has good interviewing etiquette and tact.

3:00 Guthrie salutes Yngwie. Very cool.
This is a pretty good interview, I'm sick of hearing Guthrie answer the same set of questions in the other ones
