"He turned around and prefired me" - No, he didn't. He heard footsteps and likely did not paid attention to the radar as many doesn't in such situation. In every other situation (with firmz), he whiffs first 10 shots completely, 0 damage and acts surprised when gets headshotted - classic CSGO.
