    I tried keeping my wishlist as realistic as possible
    Notes:
    - The general term for the main Macross mechs are Variable Fighters, but are often called Valkyries in reference to the most famous line of Variable Fighters, the VF-1 Valkyrie.

      I would have liked to have seen the current new Zeta MG be non transformable. Having better possibility and structural integrity would have been better. MG quality 1/400 or 1/200 Mobile Armors. Yes on 1/60 Full Mechanics grade with great panel detail. Honestly Bandai could re-engineer the Zeta to a Zeta Plus with better panel details, GP-01 into a GP 03, and the Wing Zero to a Wing Katoki. I think a 1/60 Nu and Sazabi as FM grade re-engineered from the Full Metal ones could sell like hotcakes.

      There's literally NOTHING that can top 1/144 Neo Zeong. Even the Dendrobium is more reasonable. Bandai is really shitting themselves when it comes to Mobile Armor. if it doesn't have MS attached it's worthless for them. That's why they produced METEOR and GN Arms as well.

      Fun fact, we already have. Most are being kept to themselves but a gundam girl does in fact exist (just not bandai considered official). It's quite doable when I see the images and that's part of the reasons why I haven't really helped in the gunpla reddit because I got into Frame arms girls and Megami device. There is one custom I tend to see over there and it's reimagined hololive characters made with gundam parts.
      Now with that, it's already been mentioned but figure-rise and 30 MS sisters, there's preorder and talk about pbandai variants.
      Another fun fact, we already gave our wallets and bank account information to bandai since we got into model kits.

    When I found Gundam mecha musume designs I was surprised that they didn't have any kits and actually wondered if they were a doujin project rather than something Sunrise/Bandai owned, it just seemed like such a natural extension of their product line in Japan especially. Personally, I'd give the mecha musume their own animated universe similar their SD line. Approaching it something like that - pretty great - War in the Pocket-inspired animation by NCHProductions here on TH-cam.

    Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if the recent developments in the Figurerise and 30MS models, and their partial cross-compatibility with recent HGs, is some kind of test run for the things that would eventually be implemented in a proper Gundam Girls line. Ironically, despite the fact that people *would literally murder* for an Aerial MS girl, I feel like that specific suit might... pose some unique dilemmas in its design processs.

  • @Gettergettergetter

    Man I need more MAs in 144th scale so bad, the Big Zam alone would sale like hot cases. And speaking of mecha-musume, imagine if bandai not only did the Gundam Girls line, but also Kantai Collection, making them compatable by proxy. Imagine the insane customs of mobile suits with giant 460mm cannons from Yamato, or even just painting Shigure Kai Ni in Guncannon colors

    Until Bandai actually releases the 1/144 vehicles, I recommend looking for the files or them online for 3d printing. I have come across files for the warships in Seed, the linear tanks and the Mobius WITH the nuclear missile. Warships in 1/1700 and the rest as 1/144

  • @Doiboy35
    @Doiboy35 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A long shot, but I've kind of always wanted a model kit series that was kind of like Lego Ideas. Have people submit kitbashes, original mech ideas, or obscure mobile suits from the lore that don't have model kits yet. Then, have the people vote for which idea they want as a real model kit (let's say 10,000 people within a year's time). Then, Bandai selects from the top most voted ideas and chooses those they believe they can make into model kits, maybe the submitter gets some sort of prize and their name on the box. It could be a subline of the Build Series. Logistically, I have no idea how this would work, would probably have a lot of limits put on it, but it would be cool.

  • @tmsern4341
    @tmsern4341 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I agree with your wish list! I would add SHIPS from the many many Gundam series throughout the years, the old glue kits were great but they're nearly impossible to find and when you do they're over priced to the extreme!! 1/1200 scale is a perfect scale for these ships along with the larger capital ships in the same scale so you can actually see the size difference between the ships!

    I am actually all in for the smaller craft design. Gundam may well be about giant robots, but seeing tanks, fighters, small mobile armors, and other support units fighting alonside said giant robots is really something.
    I would gleefully by half a dozen saberfish at least just to support a single mobile suit. And I really appreciate the Linear Tanks from seed.
    Heck, after unlocking everything in Gundam Genesis/crossrays ,I plan on replaying the missions and trying to fight with Saberfish, Mobieus Units, helicopters, and tanks to support the main characters.

    7:21 No. Here's what the idea should be
    Model kits of Famous Gundam characters cosplaying as their mobile suits, GUYS AND GIRLS ALIKE
    Watch the end credits of Build Fighters and imagine that same concept being used for Gundam characters
    Amuro Ray- Rx-78-2
    Char Aznable- Zaku/Sazabi
    We could get Haman Karn cosplaying as the Qubeley

    For the transforming kits even if it would be more expensive, would be just happy to have enough parts to build both the MS and MA from a single box as opposed to parts-swapping them into a pre-molded frame.
    The great thing about the non-transformable Variable Fighters is the proportion of the body is better. This is noticeable on the old die-cast transforming VF-1 where it's Battroid mode's chest was too wide.

    Personally a Gunpla line I'd like to see is a battle scarred line, akin to what they did for Mobile Suit in Action back in the day. Now granted it's not hard to "scar up" a model kit yourself, but I think they could get creative with giving us details and damage that would be hard to replicate in a model, especially 1/144 (like inner frame exposure, etc.).

    Gundam Girls would be fun, but (as a longtime mecha musume builder) I'd really love to see more character kits - girls and guys both.
    So far, not counting the Build series oddities, we have a total of three character kits: Lacus, Mio, Suletta. Even if you keep it to female characters, what about Cagalli? Or Chuchu, for that matter? I'd totally buy a Chuchu kit over a Mio kit, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone.
    As for the guys: I'm pretty sure a lot of gunpla builders would like to have an Amuro or Char figure on their model shelf. Or both. I know I would. And if they released a kit of Setsuna, just imagine the memes.

  • @SpexSpexington
    @SpexSpexington ปีที่แล้ว +1

    There are quite a few Perfect Grade options IF you turn to "Garage Kits." BUT, 1) these aren't official, 2) they're often extremely limited in production (even more limited than if a P-Bandai PG existed), 3) They're resin kits and require a lot of extra work (making pieces fit, painting, etc... not for everyone), 4) they require a "base" Perfect Grade kit for the frame, then the garage kit's parts attach to it (though, some GKs now offer their own base frames, but they too are limited in production, etc), 5) They're often way more expensive due to cost of the GK + the needed base kit.
    I'd like to see more Perfect Grade Unleashed kits though. Heck, make the Unleashed its own lineup (PGU)! I want to see a Zaku II Unleashed!
    I understand the amount of time between PG releases though. They require a TON of work before they're released to the consumer. Even more so if they did turn the PG Unleashed into its own line.
    Other than that, I would love to see a detailed battleship line. I don't think Bandai can make them 1/144 scale (they'd be HUGE and EXPENSIVE!!!), but if they were made about the same size as an actual model ship kit (the real life, floaty on water ships), that'd be pretty cool! They could come with miniature GMs, Zaku IIs, etc, but the main necessity: they need to be detailed, and good looking. It really would be nice if they required a similar amount of work and detail as an actual ship model, but minus the glue and paint (ie, snap together and decals- like Gunpla is known for!).
    And this part isn't exactly in line with the topic, but Bandai...
    PLEASE release a MG Zaku I 2.0!!! Also, a Dom Barrage kit (at least a HG!!)!!! I would buy those up immediately!! I'd even sell my first born child for them! (I'll probably never have a child, so Bandai can have two walnuts and a hotdog instead).

    They really need a specific line for mobile armors. There are things like the Neo Zeong, yes, but how often do we see releases of big mobile armors as gunpla? Have we seen any Destroy Gundam gunpla? A new version of Psycho Gundam other than the Psycho GM P-Bandai release, maybe the Mk-II version?
    And yes, I'd love to see Non EX Model gunpla versions of Moebius or Exus, alongside the many other non mobile suits of the series.
    And oh yeah, I'd like to see more oddball designs to be adapted as gunpla, like the many Turn A and G Gundam mobile suits.

    Im gonna guess that 'unnamed thing from Unicorn' is some sort of unconfirmed Late Type Bloodhound chassis modified to have a cannon instead of the vulcan, so it can act as support against more heavily armored vehicles. As for the legs, probably a concession that had to be made due to the extra weight of the cannon probably overtaxing the hover engine.

    I 100% agree with your idea for non-transformable mobile armour lines as well as a high grade vehicular. But on top of that I wish we could get a 1/2 or 1/4 scale motorized Haro toy. I doubt we’ll ever get a 1/1 true Haro toy but one can hope.

    also there are some old MA kits that hold up decently though they do need painting and detailing. alpha azieru, braw bro, and bigro are all solid ones that still have decent mechanics and engineering. hell the braw bro kit from the 80s can actually separate its blocks and the wire-guided pods are fairly sturdy.

    1. I have been saying for the longest for a HG line of combat vehicles especially the aircraft/spacecraft.
    2. Bandai has made a few non-PG 1/60 scale kits which were somewhere in between HG and early MG. The mid-90's plus kits are pretty nice for their original price so I would definitely buy a new "NG" 1/60 kit.
    3. I have been saying MS Girl kits since Figure-rise Build Divers was a thing and definitely since 30MS.

    As a person who owns 2 Macross Bandai kits that transform into 3 of the modes. It's rather very fragile and never touching it ever again due to some connections being thin and the complexity of the build and some parts being in wrong plastic type, i pointing at you VF-31 siegfried with the metallic injection connector which holds the foot and lower leg together which broke even carefully handling it.

    Didn't they do this to the delta kai gundam? Where you can choose to have one or the other? Because the one I got had separate core parts that were dedicated to the fighter mode and parts fell off it constantly so I decided to scrap the whole kai for a bit bash infusion to the Narrative Gundam C pack and turn what was left of the delta into a backpack Psy-drone fighter. Like the pack of the Infinite Justice Gundam's.

    I also thought about the 1/400 scale, but not just for large mobile armors. Ships could also be included, and sets of maybe 6 grunts, because I think the scale is more or less perfect for war games. It's like Warhammer... but Gundam!
    Also, can we please have a HG Alvatore/Alvaaron already? The final boss of 00 season 1 has no model kits!

    Yes, I would love the see the HG Mechanics line come back, with modern mechanics and the like. I recently built the Dendrobium, and it would benefit A LOT from a modern take on it with color separation, gimmick, and pose-ability that makes it more than just a brick. Mobile armors don't get any love anymore, despite being some of the most iconic battles in the series history.

    I sooooorta remember that there is a smaller scale of METEOR units…. Which I thought was the HG Mechanics line. The scale is something like 1/500 or smaller, since the MS figures are tiny-sized, but its still bigger than the Eternal or similar EX Model Battleships.
    On the note of EX Model….. I wish they continued more on that line, and have something bigger, similar to Space Battleship Yamato model kit line. I really want a bigger Minerva.

    Yeah, I'd like MS girl kits, I've got a Megami Device kit, a Frame Arms Girl kit, a Megalomaria kit, and a MoMo kit. I never got any 30MS kits because... they just look so generic. I used to kitbash a lot with Warhammer minis, but I have yet to get back into that with Japanese model kits. I kinda want to make a Zeong with legs, and a more heavily armed Zaku, maybe one with parts of a Kotobukiya ADF-01 Falken kit attached to it. I'm not sure how I'll pull that off, but I'm sure it will work with enough glue, and new pegs and holes. If only I had a very small milling machine, then this would be easy...
