What a beautiful man, what a fantastic musician! Frank Marocco wrote the book. A whole chapter of accordion history lays between his hands. Our instrument has suffered for over a century. There are many "players" who should be shot; they have done the instrument injustice. I agree with Frank when he talks about a certain era, and "romance". Romance comes from the heart- viene dal cuore. HE has inspired generations of accordionists. May his soul rest in peace. God bless you Frank.

Dunno if anyone gives a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my brother for the last couple of days =)
I remember eating lunch with him in downtown Boston in 2004 while the American Accordionists' Association was in down town Boston with the massed band performing Cheers theme song. I remember telling him and Manny Bobenrieth a joke by Pete Barbutti.

No, he plays Stradella. But his total mastery, and his unique left-hand, right-hand balance, makes it sound like he's using free left hand. This is because he plays mainly single notes on the left, and of course doesn't resort to "Umpah"- style accompaniment. The only Jazz accordionist I know of who played chromatic free-bass left hand (on Giulietti- built by Zero Sette) was Randy Arase, who played arrangements by Tito Guidotti. Well worth listening to. However Frank Marocco has a phenomenal swing and very unique sound, and is a TRUE improvisor. Wonderful musician, and BEAUTIFUL person.
Sempre qui sono ad ascoltarti❤
A privilege to know Frank ♥️♥️
He had such a beautiful touch

@John Gargano what do you mean by saying REAL accordion?

Gute Musiker, aber grausam und unharmonisch gespielt. Nervig !
Super!
