Could you make a video showing how to turn the WAN port into a regular LAN port? Basically, i would like to use the whole device as a managed switched with the "WAN" port acting as a trunked/tagged switch port running to another device.
So do you have to match the vlan port select in the gui and cli? Which one takes precedence? I tried a more complicated setup on an netgear router from the gui and got mixed results when adding more vlans. I even got locked out when trying to assign one of the ports for trunk. I am at the point were I am going to reset the router and try the cli approach, but i have noticed that changes made to vlan in cli do not show up in the gui. Luckily i have a small cisco router, might just give up on the idea of trying to impose super power abilities to my cheap router. For everything else, tomato, ddwrt & openwrt have been great. Most important, learned so much trying to make things work. Thanks for your video.

Hi, it is not possible to turn a wired router into a wireless router, obviously the hardware is different! It would be like turning a car into an air plane!
My Linksys router's internet port (model EA6350) is not working. How change one of my LAN port to internet port. Tomato doesn't support my model. Same model is not in the supported list. Kindlt advise.

I haven't done that with any third party firmware but I know you can use dual wan with DD-WRT. If so, can you tell me how to get into my settings? If not, would I have to do what you did in this video? I lack the knowledge necessary, but I don't know how to get into my settings unless it's connected to the internet like normal.

So I tought, what about wirelessbridge two tomat-routers and use a second dhcp server in the garage, - so that the IP`s given to my garage device is like 10.0.0.X and my house use it`s own dhcp which has 192.168.0.X. Offcourse the garage router has to get on the internet trough 192.168.0.X, but from 10.0.0.X IP`s. Anyone know what setup I am serching for?
The routers usually have a feature called web access from WAN or something like and when it is enabled you can access the router using the public IP address of the router to connect (or DDNS if it is configured) when you are outside. This method is not very secure though! What I actually do myself is to use a VPN connection to my network which puts me virtually on my network and then connect to the router using it's local IP address, but this method required to have a VPN server configured.
I actually have a video about setting up an OpenVPN server on Asus routers : th-cam.com/video/KXdhhuBcpgU/w-d-xo.html If you get the message that this router has a private wan IP address, then you are experiencing something called Double NAT! In order to have a functional VPN server your server should either have a Public IP address so it can be reachable from the outside, or the device upstream the server which has the public IP address should do port forwarding so when it receives the VPN request it can forward it to the VPN server.
