I my opinion, supe gets his powers from Sun, but Thor can literally travel to anywhere in universe. Supe might defeat him on earth but Thor can defeat him elsewhere.
Actually, Superman gets his powers from almost any type of energy including Magic ! Yes, you heard it right ! Apart from green, golden kryptonite, red and green stars, superman can harness literally any type of universal energy source.
