[4K] Walking Tossa de Mar Medieval Old Town (Vila Vella)

Tossa de Mar, Spain is located on the coastal Costa Brava. Medieval Tossa dates back to the year 966; in 1187 the castle was built on the headland to defend the town. Villa Vella is the name of the Old Town of Tossa de Mar. This is the oldest part of the town, which is surrounded by a city wall with seven watchtowers. In 1931 it was declared a monument of artistic and historical value. Today you can see how well intact its towers and defensive walls are. It’s actually the only entirely surviving fortified medieval town along the coast of Catalonia.
This video was recorded 23th June 2020, so, there are still few people in the town due to the little tourism after the lockdown.

Statue of Ava Gardner at 32:09. Her 1951 film "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman" was filmed on location in Tossa. And you can see at 32:22 that the square is named after her.
