Thank you, Jennifer L. Scott, your videos mean so much to me. I am thrilled to see your videos. They calm me and encourage me, and lift me up. The impact of your videos are immense. Thank you. 🎉🎄
Hey Jennifer....How many of us ever take a moment when we are feeling anxious or agitated caused by our nervous systems being out of whack, and actually sit still and tell ourselves, "it's all ok, everything is ok". How many of us have told ourselves that we love ourselves? How many of us have sat down and embraced ourselves saying those words?? A few moments before sitting down to your wonderful video, I was feeling anxious and tense because of an overloaded nervous system that seems to ignite itself all on its own, during stressful times....I decided to have a seat and embrace myself in a big hug, holding my arms and saying, "I know I am nervous and anxious right now, but I love myself enough to sit still for a few moments, my breathing is now calm, and I know that I am healthy and strong and everything is going to be ok". I then finish with a nice deep breath in and a longer exhale out. I then remind myself throughout the day when this happens, that I love myself and am doing my very best...that's all I or anyone can do. Sometimes we forget with everything going on that the most important person to give a big old hug and an I love you to is....ourselves. xo
Hey Jennifer...here's what the little birds say about you every morning to each other: "Do you think she'll give us some of that delicious pot roast today instead of bird seed??" 🤣🤣🐦🐦
I said no to exterior Christmas lights this year. I sold my Santa and reindeers, bears etc to a man who goes all out for the neighborhood, and whose Decorations went kerplunk. So, I felt great selling them. I have a beautiful tree and I bought a wonderful large painting of close up poinsettias. It makes me so happy to look at. I feel just great not having the stress of putting up and taking down the icicles and having more space in the basement.
I suffer with vertigo too off and on what usually helps I go away is the head tilt exercises laying down and doing them twice a day, morning and night. It will help recenter the elements in the ear that control balance. I pray it helps. God bless you and Merry Christmas ❤
I’ve been struggling with vertigo for over a week now. The last time I had it was in August when my daughter started high school. I know my vertigo is stress related but there’s so much to be done. Thankfully winter break begins soon so periods of rest will be easier to access. 🎄
I spent most of Saturday arranging fresh evergreens for my fireplace mantle and for around the house, l love the smell of fresh evergreens this time of year! Vertigo can happen in the beginning of menopause, it happened a little to me. Hopefully you'll feel better soon. Wonderful relaxing video! Thanks Jennifer 😊
Vertigo really is the worst, so sorry. I’ve had a cold lately, which knocked me out. I was wishing I had more down time at home, careful what you wish for!! Haha Merry Christmas 🎄 ❤
Bless you Jennifer. I had vertigo for 3 solid months. It was horrible. My chiropractor performed the epley maneuver to get the crystals where they belong.
Prayers that you feel better and calmer. As Mother Teresa said, “God doesn’t expect us to be perfect, He expects us to try.” Thank you for being an example of practicing self reflection and thus, self care. Merry Christmas and a wishing you and yours a new year filled with new uplifting experiences and love and laughter. Ho, ho Ho!
Love the video! I'm sorry you've been dealing with vertigo. It can be very debilitating, I'm glad you're allowing your body to speak to you and slowing down a bit. Sometimes, the things we consider necessary are often our dreams of what we want life to be, but can be laid aside. Blessings on your holiday season. ❤❤
I’ve had vertigo off and on since I was 36. I’m 55 now. My ENT told me walking is one of the best things to do when you are able to do so. It helps re-establish the brain/ear connection. I do find it helps. Sending prayers for rest and good health. Take care of yourself, Jennifer! ❤
aah I need to hear that "Keep Calm and Remain Classy" at the end. It always calms me haha. I related to this video, thank you. Wishing you a calm, healthy, and joyful Christmas season. ps: someone requested a grounding mat for Christmas and I have just began to do the research but its intriguing. Your frequent trips outside seem to be the theory if you remove your shoes. The mat is for people that cannot go outside as often. I'm still learning the benefits.
When I feel vertigo or a cold coming on, I take an over the counter decongestant for sinus drainage only and it knocks it out. It also helps my husband when he starts to get it and he says it helps alot. It is the one they claim does not work and they(the drug companies) had plans to pull it from the shelves! It absolutely does work for us. He has had severe vertigo over the years and has had to go to the doctor for it. We stocked up on them, when I heard they were going to pull it. You can also get the original kind you have to sign for from the pharmacy.
Please take care of yourself, Jennifer, you sweet precious little lady. You are so loved. I don't like that vertigo you are suddenly feeling. I know it's not easy but try to rest as much as possible. You work so hard. I'm in love with your Christmas tree. I bought a new tree and it's taken me two days to decide to put it together. Wish me luck with the decorating as I am not at all inspired being dizzy a lot (from a small stroke I had four years ago). But, I know I will eventually get it done.
I've been dealing with constant vertigo for the past four months, which I think may be stress related as well. I'm so sorry you're experiencing it; I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I hope you recover and feel back to yourself soon. 🌹
Beautiful video. I love the flowers for your daughters. I can be outdoors all day and think like you. What are the birds saying? What are they thinking? I love it and it resets me.
Thank you for these beautiful Christmas videos, Jennifer. I just was able to catch up on the last three during a relatively quiet afternoon. We have not had much quiet so I am savoring it all. I just love the little things you do for your children like make bouquets to surprise them! How joyful! Thank you for another way to share creativity and love. We made gingerbread houses and paint your own nutcrackers this month. So fun :)
Oh, Jennifer! I so relate! The Christmas season is so full of anxious feelings 😢 At church yesterday, our pastor reminded us to not let the reason of Christmas pass us by....Jesus" birth to save us🙏⚘️This gives me peace. I, too, suffer from vertigo from time to time. It lasted for 6 months one time and was so debilitating. I am so sorry you're going through this! My doctor said the diet is important...no sodium, alcohol or caffeine. So, basically the American diet😅Hang in there and I'll be praying for healing and peace for you🎄✨️
I hope you feel better, Jennifer! Thanks for another lovely video. It really resonated with me as I’ve been struggling to get into the spirit this year and feel behind. It’s been a bit of a challenging year but I’m hopeful for smoother sailing in 2025. 😊
Oh my goodness Jennifer- I have a very similar outfit to the one you are wearing when you hang up the bird feeders that my co-workers call my "Parisian outfit"! It looks so beautiful on you! Another great Christmas time video! Love from East TN
I only have sons, but every once in a while I will get a bouquet from the supermarket/Trader Joe’s and let them have the freedom to trim the leaves and stems and arrange in the vase with tape grid to make it easier. I’ve only shown them once how to do it, mostly so I don’t have to…but they don’t know that!😂😅
Sorry to hear you have been having vertigo. Its so hard to rest and really enjoy the season sometimes. I get overwhelmed and tired . We are so busy preparing food, treats and gifts and I try and simplify, but its hard. Take care Jennifer.
I wonder if the little yellow birds were gold finches. The bunny was so adorable! 🥰 Thank you for the reminder of how calming, healing, rejuvenating nature is. I’m reminded of a quote I read recently, which I’ve been sharing with other women and trying to recall for myself during this oft-too-busy season: “Listen to and love your body, and learn to hit the pause button on purpose, rather than only when symptoms force you to.” -Aviva Romm 💛 Take care, and have a merry Christmas!
I love the flowers in your yard - just lovely. The birds and the squirrels in my yard think I'm their garden fairy for sure - even my husband enjoys feeding the squirrels, he built a squirrel feeder which holds corn on the cob and has room for nuts - he also made a simple one that sits on the ground and holds an ear of corn - now we have a rabbit that comes most every evening and eats some of the corn!! Who knew wild rabbits liked corn? We love nature and sitting in the evenings and watching the birds, squirrels and hoping that the rabbit will come is calming and enjoyable. If you don't have a bird bath consider getting one and you will have endless entertainment. I'm so sorry for the vertigo - maybe you've just had a slight ear infection! Merry Christmas from your fan in SC.
Hi Jennifer! I love that you enjoy watching nature, it is one of my favorite past times. I recently ordered some books you might like. I haven't started them yet, but wanted to tell you about them in case you want to check them out. One is called "The Little Book of Peace" by Cherry Menlove. The other is "The Wintering" by Katherine May. Happy Christmas! 🎄
Hello Jennifer, The exhaustion is real; our children bought a fresh tree and decorated it. I decided that was it for the decorating this year. I’m doing most of my shopping online and asked all the children to buy something for $100 and ask a sibling to wrap it. I’m not trying to make every Christmas bigger, better and more memorable anymore; it was too big of a burden to carry.
Was surprised in reading the comments, that so many of us have dealt with vertigo . I’ve had it off & on for many years due to Ménière’s disease. It has caused some anxiety which I deal with best I can. It has improved somewhat over time with some lifestyle changes. On a lighter topic, I loved seeing the wildlife in your backyard. I also love birds. I usually see ducks on my daily walk and when they are quacking it sounds like they are laughing at us humans. Also love seeing snowy egrets, silent and so graceful and beautiful. Hope that your vertigo stops and you continue to enjoy the holidays. Loved the charcuterie board you created in a previous vlog. Merry Christmas to you & yours.🎄
I used to suffer from vertigo. I had a prescription in the beginning but I later found that taking ginkgo biloba daily worked as well. I went off the prescription but continued taking ginkgo for about a year after. I stopped taking ginkgo 5 years ago and the vertigo has never returned.
I enjoyed your thoughts on the birds and the bees. 😄 As a mom I always feel I am putting on the show. The Christmas show, the Thanksgiving show, the Halloween show, and even the birthday shows. I don't mean that begrudgingly, but just as I hold the honored role of mother these responsibilities fall to me. It is always a relief and a blissful moment when I can sit back and feel I successfully provided more beautiful memories for my family and myself too.
I think we'd all be surprised at the many ways stress manifests itself in our body. When you are stressed and tensed up, notice where the tension is. For me, it's mostly my lower gut. For some it's their chest and others they notice in their head/neck. It can show up in many different ways.
Another beautiful video Jennifer. Thank you!💕I'm so sorry you are experiencing vertigo. It is awful. I just recovered from it after 2 months. Dr. Carol Foster has some videos on TH-cam about vertigo and her maneuver. I also read her book about positional vertigo which I found had helpful information. I tried some of the different maneuvers (epley, half somersault, semont) and went to vestibular rehabilitation. I wish you a fast recovery.❤🙏
I am a woman, but I am not going this society to put pressure on me. Men do it better in general at Christmas. And me I am learning from them less is more. Only an Advent star on my window and a little bit more. I want to have lots of time and lots of fun with family friends, etc..🎉
I’m so sorry to hear that you have vertigo. When life becomes challenging, try to remember to delegate what you can to other family members and friends. I’ll give you an example : I am part of a racing crew and we sail in a race every week on the Chesapeake Bay March - November. This past summer the lady who operates our mailsail was suffering from vertigo for the first time in her life. She was unable to look up at the mast without feeling dizzy so she still sailed with us but she sat behind the wheel in the center of the boat and another crew member took her position. Her vertigo unfortunately lasted the rest of the season however we still sailed and so did she. We kept our crew together by making adjustments and we did not exclude her. We all need to learn how to shift positions in times of crisis so that we can sail on together. So, I hope that you will find ways to delegate tasks as needed so that you can get the rest that you need and deserve. Merry Christmas Jennifer ! 🎁

@TheDailyConnoisseur Yes, I am! And thank you for the care and concern!
Everybody else’s tradition does not have to become mine. I limit it to only what’s meaningful.
When I was younger I tried doing all the Christmas activities..I was exhausted 😢 now I do what is meaningful to me
I agree!

What a nice helpful comment! I sometimes feel so overwhelmed that I feel nauseous. I’m going to try to do what you’ve suggested next time
Of course bees are always happy, they get to sit on beautiful flowers every day!
You have truly helped me, with my health and also my faith. I am praying for you. ❤
I'm really enjoying the Christmas diary series!
Love how you arrange flowers! Flowers are a woman's second best friends!
I hope u feel better. Vertigo is no joke. Stay hydrated and rest
I can relate - it can be terrible at times. There are some exercises online that ease this condition.

I had vertigo once on a cruise. The ship’s doctor was also an acupuncturist and with one session I was no longer dizzy. It was amazing!
