The "Golden Books" brought back memories from my childhood. The large pitcher was an amazing find!! What a great deal for the beautiful oak parlor table. 😊
Hey Scott, you bought *"4"* books, you should have received the 5th book *free.* ummm, would Vinny like that nude book you held up? lol 😂
Love the covered casserole and the rolling pin ❤
Love the books brings back memories
Love the oak table. Great buy! I would love shopping with you. Great finds as usual.
The table and little golden books are wonderful! Thanks
Ah, the rain! We could use some of that out west! Thanks for taking me shopping!
Love oak…love the table!
Thanks Scott, love to shop with you.
I laughed so hard at the "Irene" record that I got tears in my eyes 😂 Now you have to find a marigold Iris and Herringbone bowl with an engraved "I" on it so your joy will be complete!
I liked the Annalee ! I like to support a nearby state, New Hampshire... but I get it, everyone has their own likes... thanks for taking us along Scott!
Seeing this awesome video late Wednesday night. 🙂
Love the table
Wonder buy on the table!
The two cat creamers in two stores are telling you it's time to get a cat 🙀
Beautiful oak table 👍
For the permanent marker writing on those pieces: trace over them with a permanent marker, wiping as you go. Test it on something of the same material first, though. It does pretty well!
Omg! I loved loved that chunky piece of clear glass at the end of the video!! I want it!
I LOVE quarter-sawn oak. That table is gorgeous!!! I have several pieces I inherited, but I still mourn the loss of several other pieces in a storage site fire. A beautiful library table from my great-grandparents (due to my family's weirdly spread out generations was over 140 yrs old). Also the mirror back/top of my China cupboard/sideboard. My Mom didn't like the mirror so she took it off, but kept it. She also cut off the ball and claw feet. (kept but also lost in fire).
I loved the birds on the, blue luster.. not very common also loved the black kitty,s ..shades of Salem😢..
That sewing caddy is too cute!
Dee picked up one too earlier this week. She's going to upgrade hers. Can't wait. 🥰
That pitcher would make a beautiful vase...nice and tall for dahlias and glads. Deco Flamingo teapot is great! I'm with ya on the Fenton...breaks my heart to see beautiful items like that lotus set broken and so dissrepected...should be illegal. Beautiful table...I'd go with fern (use plate you got as saucer). Great haul.
Love what you found Scott, I always pick up wooden boxes and the tanker is beautiful. Every time I see a small oak table like that I can’t resist I have to pick it up. ❤️🐈⬛
Hi Scott, it’s all about that oak table. TFS
Do you think you’re seeing black kitties because it’s time to bring a tuxedo kitty into your life soon?
@@oldcuriosityshop265 would love to see you get a new black kitty. ❤
❤❤❤the golden oak table❤❤❤
Thanks for the peek in the new 2nd Ave Thrift. I hope to get there when I visit my cousin next month. How funny you met that woman who also sang in Ocean Grove last weekend. My cousin said her husband’s family had a cottage in OG before she married him, but they sold it. That wouldn’t have happened if she was already in the picture.
I loved the boxes and the beautiful oak table
Love the box (oak).
I just bought 10 golden books from an estate sale. I just wanted the Christmas ones and the little kittens one. The rest I'll give to my great nephew.
Maybe BOB means beautiful old box!
Scott, the light cream apple and leaf sugar & creamer are Puritan ware. I think they were made in West Virginia in the 1925 through through the late 1940’s . They remind me of Stangl ware. As kids we actually visited the Stangl pottery and followed our Mom and Aunt Carol through the warehouse outlet store, of course with our hands in our pockets 😂😂. Great pottery but it chipped like crazy, that’s way before Rachel Ashwell started the trend of chippy porcelain.
Sending you and your Fans virtual 🍹🍹, way too humid😎, safe travels .
Great shopping trip! I think that tankard/pitcher will end up on eBay😉 what a ton of wexford out there! Hard to believe it's over 50 years old. Thanks for sharing👍
Should’ve bought the black cat mug in memory of Salem! Oh the lovely sounds of rain. Just love it.liked the thin green glass piece.
Oak is my favorite wood, as well! Love those those Christmas Golden Books! I just bought the same rolling pin from Carol at My Blessed Nest. Happy to know it's from the 30's....thanks!!
That cedar box takes me back in time when I went to my Grandparents house and their bedroom set was cedar. In my own first house the master bedroom closets were lined in cedar. I love that smell.
I do enjoy your videos
Loved the wood box without any hinges and the $8.99 table!! Crazy that you ran into someone who also sang in the Ocean Grove concert!!
Lots of good fines! The TABLE LOVE IT!!!
Awe…the poodle 🐩🐩🐩
🎶 goodnight, Irene already!!
Love that table. Every home needs one of those! Quick and fun trip. I see your cheering crew 👀 on deck🤣🤣🤣🥰
Fun fun fun! I always say I love everything 🎉 amazed at how packed your thrift stores are in New Jersey. . Stay dry and happy thrifting.😊
Scott, I think I just got 'detached retina' over that Royal Vienna tankard!!! I AM DEAD! 😵
@@kpgunther I just knew it!!!!! 😆 You better start those Gladiolas bulbs! ❤️🐩
Loved the little Porcelier Flamingo pot. That style had two different birds.
I got cool Christmas books today!🎉
I have been looking for "new" kitchen chairs for some time. Haven't found anything I liked until Saturday. But, I couldn't take them with me as I had a few more stops to make on foot. When I went back, they were gone!!!! Nobody buys 1930s wood dining chairs in my area. I was so heart broken. Glad you got to save the table.
Scott what a score on that table too? You've had some great days on tables lately.Good for you I do the same thing buy them to put a player or radio on them And a lamp perfection. Thanks for sharing.
The table was gorgeous! I actually own many antique oak pieces that i love. I frequent Berlin and Voorhis a lot. I would love to just run into you thrifting. Thanks for rhe videos!
❤❤covered casserole❤❤1930's rolling pin❤❤ 😊😊😊
Love it when you take us on your shopping trips. A lot of fun to see what's on the shelves in your neck of the woods! Mpls. 👑
Oh my. The table !!!
Yes, please make a cd of your background and bumper music. I love it all.
We had that rain over here this Monday. It was heavy! But I didn't know that we sent it to you. I'm so sorry! 😁🤗🤣☔🌧️⛈️
We need the rain out here in Cascadia...The oak table is lovely. I glanced over to a spot in my living room kinda wistful as I've the perfect spot for it. The Empire State Building is on Ebay with a Black square Made in Japan label, I don't have any real facts to back it up, but I always associate that label with much earlier than the 50-60s.
We had the drab green glassware set.
I'm in Phoenix, thank you for sharing your rain! Agree about tuxedo kitty, always dressed for their natural habitat, a cocktail party with tuna canapes on carnival glass plates!
I see KP with that larger than life painted piece! And yes I would place pastel gladiolas inside 👍 When I saw that red console set I leapt up. Horrible a leg was missing.
Do they make cedar caskets!? ⚰️ Make sure I get one.
Those two pieces reminded me of pottery that is hand painted and highly collectible - Blue Ridge Pottery? I thought they were always marked but was informed that not always!
My mother always went by her middle name Irene, because she hated her first name which was Sadie. So of course, I’m pretty partial to the name Irene. Thanks for the fun video.
The wooden recipe box. I have one that belonged to my Grandmother and have been looking for another because my first one is full. Mine is a bit older than that one. I know it won't go in your store so I will keep looking.
It's 3 little pigs, not bears!
Your shopping trips have been fantastic! I never come across the old 78s for my Victrola. I end up buying online. You found some good ones. Love the rain. I gasped when I saw the horseshoe punch bowl with its under plate. Mine is missing the underplate but I’m always on the lookout. I want to come to the east coast so bad to shop. You find such amazing things. I had the Jingle Bells golden book as a kid. Always a stroll down memory lane shopping with you. The Mike Rowe book…😂😂😂
Send that rain to us in Western Canada 🇨🇦. Our land is parched, and forest fires are creating havoc.
Grab a blanket or coat from one of the aisles to put inside your cart before you begin. 😀
I would have been in hog heaven if I found that Hand painted roses pitcher for $8.99
I love the teapot / the flamingo. Too bad the Fenton was " tore slam up".
Mr. Clean scrubbing pads work great for getting marker off. My dad was Robert too
I can never hear "Buttons and Bows" without singing the version Frasier Crane performed for the telethon on "Take a Leap" episode of the original series. 😂
I have my grandmother's wood rolling pin and also an old wood box I use for recipes. I love the painted tankard/vase. Will it be going on ebay?
Hi Scott It's Momma bear Papa bear and baby bear🙂
You asking if we hear the squeaky cart reminds me of Will Farrell in Elf when he belches loud and long and says “did you hear that?” 😄
I do have my grans cedar chest and my house has a large cedar closet, love the smell.
Loved the table. Would’ve been perfect to hold my Edison with horn.
Hi Scott! Wonderful video, as usual. I just love the lovely old oak table. What a find! You referred to the oak as " Quarter sawn"... For those of us who lack carpentry knowledge, would you please explain what that means? Thanks so much for your insight to all these wonderful vintage items!
Thank you for asking, and I did answer your question in the video that I made the very next day.
Hi Scott! Love the haul, especially the oak table! I have not been down to the new Voorhees 2nd Ave, it seems that's a stop you made. Hope you have a great day! ☺️🩵
I found a three leg half table with a label from Tennessee Red Cedar and Novelty Co at a tiny vendor mall for $12! I think it could be from the 20s or 30s. I wouldn’t have paid any attention to it if not for your channel 😊
I know all the places that you have been too. I would be out there shopping with you.just kidding
Is it possible that the large pitcher would have been for carrying warm water to a bath to keep it warm? The worn handle and sturdy build shows it was a utility type piece so maybe it was used for something like that? Very interesting piece, I would have snatched it as well.
Aloha 🌺🥰
👍❤😊
I am finally getting around to leaving a message, have been a subscriber for awhile and very much enjoy your shopping trips !! I also LOVE oak, it is my fave!! But, curious ... why you did not get the super heavy pressed glass candy dish (ugh) ??
It was nice no particular reason why I didn’t purchase it. I suppose it just didn’t speak to me at that moment.
I love the Golden Books! ❤️🎄🎅🏻
How much were they?
Were those butter pats next to the cat mug? They’re valuable…people love cats…should have bought that cat pitcher , although not your style. Great oak table!Enjoyed thrifting with you!
Thats sounds more like a car wash than rain😂😂😂
I had the Jingle Bells Little Golden.
My favorite wood? Solid wood, does that count?
❤😊🕊️
Miss Lemon probably had a filing box like your found
Love me some oak !!
I'm on my 3rd attempt to watch this in one sitting. At 8:42 behind the ball pitcher, is that cubist sugar bowl by Jeanette??
👋👍😎🙌
What's the best way to get the letters off the wooden box?
P.S. Please do a video of your cleaning tips. I'm curious how you are going to clean the decorative metal plate too.
P.P.S. Those black cats you keep finding are divine guidance. Time for another Supervisor, Scott!
Table is beautiful.
