This is not because the animals are interesting, but because it skillfully expresses society through animals that live on the edge of the jungle. In recent years, anime has spread worldwide, and not only overseas but also in Japan, the concept of anime being for children and otaku has moved in a positive direction, moving from something that everyone watches to something that otaku are not bad. I think this trend is also happening overseas. In the midst of this, if you, an influential person, make a partial and simple criticism, what should be a good anime will be tainted. Of course, values differ from country to country. Japan, which is quick to anthropomorphize things and animals, may find this strange, but this work has a deep story and message. We Japanese people don't recommend you to watch shitty sexual anime, and of course it doesn't get popular in Japan either. Also, I felt some of the reactions to "Gintama" were negative.
