- Swat motorway was completed back in May 2019. This motorway is a big breakthrough in trade and tourism industry of Pakistan and tourism in Swat and associated areas will flourish in coming years. After completion of Bahrain to Kalam road (completed in December 2019), tourists should now turn steering towards Swat and explore the beauty of this region including many hidden valleys.
Around 8 km part of this motorway is under construction that includes three tunnels. One tunnel is complete while rest of the two yet to be completed. Alternate 8 km road is also good in shape rather i would say, its far better than the GT road that leads to Chakdara because many cities like Takht bhai, Dargai and Batkhela are now bypassed.

Pakistani tourism will flourish if the new government starts building new and safe roads in the northern part of Pakistan. At the moment roads are horrible, 30 minute drive takes 4 hours.
It's in swing John and roads being built. At least, we the travelers now make it to the nearest spots of beautiful valleys. I trust, more roads will be built in coming years.
@@TravelDiariesPakistan If I was Imran Khan, I would rush the building of roads and security and safety of foreign tourists because Pakistan is blessed with beautiful places just needs to fix the roads and build some decent hotels for tourists. That will bring so much foreign currency in Pakistan.
@@johngoldman5823 you're right that Pakistan is blessed with ultimate natural beauty. Imran khan is doing his best in infrastructure development and against terrorism. You see he is also inclined towards boosting tourism in the country. I hope, it will get better.
@@TravelDiariesPakistan I travel from Islamabad to Peshawar 3 months ago, the highway was impressive. I also travel from Karachi to Hyderabad, the highway was horrible. Pakistani people are very friendly except in Murree area.
@@johngoldman5823 feeling regretful over the ppl of Murree, not actually the ppl but hotel owners and vendors. It's unfortunate that tourists hesitate visiting Murree after one over another incident of their misconduct.

These motorways are build recently under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Except some of these were built in 90s.
Bhai , India s roads are way way ahead . your highways sounds ghost . no traffic means less economic activity, less luxurious vehicles and less greenery, in india now automatic toll system implemented and 8 lanes highway m plz know some facts

I travelled on this motorway in September 2019. I went to بٹخیلہ شریف from mandi bhauddin.i used M2 & M1 and then M16. Enjoyed alot
