I was not sure if this would work but it is exciting to know that you can get your bump keys copied easily at these automated machines. They make a decent copy and the price is not too much especially if you buy multiple copies.
Bump keys are a lot of fun and it is nice to know there is an easy and hassle free to make copies of them.

Scott Walker thank you for the kind words! What kind of picks and tension wrenches are you using?
I bought the Monstrum xxl from Sparrows and I've purchased some .078 music wire to make some tension wrenches that are a little fatter than the .050 that comes with the set. I like the picks a lot and just picked the 7 pin ultimate adversary practice lock, which I loaded with spools, serrated and a couple of Assa driver pins. Only used one master wafer so I may re-pin it today. I'm starting to get it. Something I don't understand, is when to shim a lock that your taking apart. Some people seem to shim every core, and others don't seem to ever shim. Any advise? Thanks for your time.
Scott Walker It depends if there are any gaps between the plug and the follower. Some plugs have a lot of material removed and the pins would catch. You sort of learn on a vase by case basis by trial and error

If you take the shoulder off you can add rubber bumpers this makes bumping easier .. 👍🏻
I added castration rings to a lot of my bump keys, I agree, it can make the rapid fire approach much easier.
Awesome. I tried to get a copy of a kw1 bump key I made and the people at Walmart tried to keep it. I had to re site some laws about stolen property before they would give it back. Now I know how to get a copy made with out a hour of filling lol.

@@BelmontClan no after I told them I was going to call the cops for them stealing my property they quickly gave it back. I'm very good friend with the police. Most of my family are cops, detectives and T,B,I. And no I've only got 1 Kw1 bump key lol.
@@BelmontClan it's not illegal to have a bump key where I live. They were just being ass holes and thought I was some punk and would run with my tail between my legs lol. We can have whatever we want for the most part here. I was a cop my self for about a year and a half. It wasn't for me. I wanted to help people and everyone else wanted to throw the book at them so I quit.

That’s cool. On the flip side, when I first started in locksport I bought my blank keys for about $3 each at Lowes not knowing yet I can get them from CLK for a fraction. LOL. Live and learn...

The number 5 rise (for 5 pin ) is longer/larger than original bump key. But since I have no knowledge on lock picking, maybe it doesn't matter.
You'd want it cut down to a 6 cut for the bump key for a Kwikset. If the cuts are off it will make a difference
KW11 or SC4 for bump keys.
I never would have thought to use an automated machine to make duplicate bump keys, but it makes sense that it'd work. I suppose this also means you can make duplicate lock out keys. I can't remember if that's what they're called but they're the ones with the sharp vertical cut at the tip that prevents the key from being removed once inserted.
AsteroidsOnSteroids are you talking about those lock buster keys from sparrows?
Yeah, those things. I looked just now and the sparrows ones have multiple cuts that make angled 'barbs' in the key. The ones I've seen before are just flat at around a 9 depth until the tip where there's just a vertical cut, and the last position of the key through to the tip is left normal.
I don't know exactly how that duplicator machine works, so I don't know if it would be able to exactly duplicate the sparrows lock busters, but I imagine it'd still be able to copy those lock buster cuts sharply enough that it'll still be effective.
AsteroidsOnSteroids I think either way would be worth a shot.I might give it a go sometime

Tried this with a 3D printed bump key and it wouldn’t make it… lol but the plastic one gets it done just as good!

I was almost waiting for the machine to say " Sorry, we do not duplicate bump keys, you sneekey **" and then it keeps your bump key, lol.. could you imagine ?
