not sure what temp this take is, but I feel like on rosters like G2, it makes more sense to make changes one by one to find the incremental improvements, because even if new g2 is great, maybe it couldve been better with hooxi, or if it sucks, maybe just one of the changes wouldve made the team great

@@davids8127 personally, I dont think hooxi was a definite problem. I liked replacing nexa, but doing igl at the same time as mixing up roles with malbs feels so unecessary.
Agreed, if you're a top 6 team in the world I wouldn't want to risk too many changes at once. There's a very real chance this team plummets (unless m0nesy just continues to somehow carry).

Doesn't really matter that much with synergy with Taz, the ingame synergy is much more important. Will for sure be interesting to see if G2 can establish the same synergy hooxi provided. Before hooxi, their last trophy was in 2017, when hooxi came alongside moneysy of course. They managed to win 4 trophy's. That's hella impressive, not so optimistic of them replicating that with snax.
Just ignore dumbass "analysts, talent and influenzas" of any sort and you should be golden. They are literally being paid to be toxic sh!ts because the game needs fresh blood - meaning they can sh!t on people that played CSGO for a long time to make way for others. Pathetic af

I think saying that Taz and snax are friends is a huge misinformation. They had the biggest beef starting from VP times that keeps going until now. Snax was the main reason why Taz was kicked from VP back in the day. I would be surprised if they are able to cooperate well in this team. If anything, Taz was likely one most against snax joining, not the one initiating that.

Launders, a couple of matters:
1) Everybody says that Taz brought his friend to the team. When old VP started going down and eventually disbanded, there was a lot of bad blood between everybody in there. Rumors say especially between Snax and Byali vs Taz. Taz was benched in pretty bad atmosphere. If you followed old VP players interviews they all been saying that "we are not conflicted, but we are not in touch anymore at all" and it happened for years. I highly doubt that Snax being ex Taz's teammate played such a determining factor here as everyone says.
2) I'm not sure if comparing Hooxi to Snax is even possible. Hooxi, being in top5 team, playing on t1 level for long, having Niko, monesy and in general much better players at disposal. Still achieving almost nothing compared to what they should achieve. Snax's situation and opportunities for success on the other hand are completely different here. Imo it's something you can't really compare, we can only wait and see if the decision pays off. But at this moments comments like "it's such a downgrade and non-sense move" make no sense.
3) Remember the hype about C9 superstar team? "OMG this lineup is scary" ended up being the biggest failure. Names and stats are not the major factor that brings you success. Hooxi had its chance for such a long time and achieved nothing

I’m aware of their past but clearly they made up. If they weren’t friends this move would be even less sensible because snax hasn’t done anything positive as an igl

I think this is something that G2 needs, some crazy, and sure taz may have had an input on snax, but you'd be silly to think m0nesy and nik0 weren't involved in this conversation.
but everyone will pretty much be on different positions and roles, could spark something interesting, as well maybe motivate the players cause they learn something new.
I think snax igl style will work due to them having a couple serious gunners on the team.

Everybody seemed to finally agree Hooxi's calling wasn't that extraordinary after they won Dallas without him.
I don't see why Snax joining would change the team for worse because I doubt he's coming in to overhaul their whole playbook. He's miles better than hooxi individually no matter who's calling.

I think having anchors in CS2 is way less important than having anchors in CSGO because of the movement and utility differences. This game is shifting to be more dynamic and having a dedicated anchor is literally giving away a free kill at this point. Look at the stats of all CSGO anchors and compare them to CS2...

@@launders True, however I believe teams are suffering because everybody got used to the idea of anchoring sites. G2 with stewie didn't have "dedicated anchor" most of the time, they were more dynamic and either played aggressive or passive aggressive, rarely passive. They made smokes interactable, incendiaries nerfed, peeks are broken you cannot hold angles... How do you anchor at this point, it's better to help the team and mot die than play the hero anchor. Risky imho. Better to use your nade to break their smoke and catch them off guard, or incendiary to retake. Instead the other way around. I may be wrong, time will tell. Excited for the first Major after the break. I think G2 are on to something.
only way it works is if hunter goes anchor, no way you pick up malbs just to have him anchor

I feel bad for Hooxi tbh, this seems like a lateral-if-not-downwards move. Crazy how G2 has treated both jks and Hooxi, the 2 players that brought them their first trophies in years. I hope for m0nesy and Niko's sake that this works out, but assuming it doesn't I think Taz has got to go.

snax to g2 was something i was expecting but not hopeful for. I truly hope they can get it together in the coming months and put on a good performance at the major. Watching monesy's career fall by the wayside has been a terrible thing to watch so I really am rooting for them

Why doesn’t Niko anchor? He is more than capable of holding sites alone. He is smart and has great aim. He showed he can hold B alone on inferno which is incredibly hard. Better than malbs having to change roles while attempting to be a star player.

Cadian's system didn't work with twistz it's not going to work with Niko. He's used to micromanaging his players which doesn't work well with established stars
we can speculate all sort of stuff rn but it will all be clear when the first games are played, untill then we can just pray

Another info you could say is that Snax was on G2’s radar before Hooxi but Snax refused because he wasnt ready for IGL role (it was after dallas or some other good tournament where cloud9 won in final against Ence)

its a little step up in the right direction, even if its not 100 % better, at least 40 % its good
G2 are trying to build a team that can play with zero structure. Whether or not that's possible is a different question, but they're definitely trying.
This is the closest to "go frag" as the roster has ever gotten. If they do frag, it'll be fantastic. But of course the question is whether or not snax will be capable of digging them out of any hole/disadvantage whatsoever.
It's not that simple with Snax and Taz. Sure they were playing together, but also Old VP breakup was because of their argument. There was a lot of bad blood over this 6-7 years between them.
I'm kinda excited, or hopeful rather, about Team Eyeballers. They singed Poiii and I think he can take them to top 10 in less then a year. But it is a bold prediction I agree. we'll see =)

It seems incredible how they seemed to improve their roster at G2, only to completely ruin it less than 1 year later. Getting rid of JKS was bonkers, really strange strange move. I don't know how many years m0nesy still has a contract at G2 for, but I'd be thinking about a move if I was him. He'd definitively have his pick of any top team if he decided to move, bar Vitality perhaps, he's that good. Would be a shame to see him waste away at G2, they are clearly on the down and with the current management in place, that's not going to change soon.

Let's analyze this the right way.
1. Hatemaxxing. Yes the decisions of G2 are hate worthy. One change at a time, bring new anchor and play six months was so obvious that they didn't do it.
2. Fraudmaxxing. Yes Malbs an erstwhile star player becoming a fraudulent anchor. G2 did fruad by ghosting JKS.
3. Racism. Yes The coach and IGL are from the same place and time. Malbs comes from Guatemala, the kind of chance he gets is something that even hardcore racists would appreciate. So Racism increased.

Would’ve been sick but Glaive has only IGL’d prior to the Ence roster he’s on now, Astralis, full Danish lineup with strong players in all roles, and a great coach in Zonic, we’ll never know how much of it was fully Glaive, because Zonic for sure also helped Glaive run and call the team. Not to mention the other players being great minds for the game as well.
They intentionally looked for downgrade to HooXi, there is no way, what rtarded move.
