- As per the title, 50007 and 50049 flatten the Lickey Incline within 4 minutes (cresting the summit at 44mph I do believe) for the first time in their new Large Logo livery, working the 'The Grampian Highlander: Day 1' railtour. They are also seen at Penkridge shortly afterwards
Some clips were filmed on my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
The RTT working was as follows:
1Z72 0605 Taunton to Aberdeen - www.realtimetr...
The rolling stock includes:
M 17105,
W 6310,
TBC
Thank you very much for watching, I really appreciate it. I hope you enjoy
Absolutely superb. What a rake with the Intercity coaches. So smart.
@@bombadilian Lovely to actually see a fully-liveried Blue/Grey rake - the 1980's have returned
Wow - that Intercity coach livery is SO much better than anything nowadays!
@@robertp.wainman4094 it's brilliant
The hoovers still look modern by todays standard, especially when freshly painted
@@northseawolf They do look stunning in fresh liveries, but I wouldn't say modern, only fresh 😂
Very enjoyable video! (new subscriber, Virginia)
@@johncamp2567 thank you very much. That's very kind and I really appreciate it
Excellent and with 13 on. 🤔 🤓
They smashed it
Nice video! I was at the same spot on the Lickey Bank!
@@FastlineFilms Thank you very much! That's excellent haha, I hope you got a good shot of it up there
Saw them when they came out of Eastleigh for the first time with the new livery
@@Trainguy_spotter nice one, I video'd them at Culham on that run (check the video on my channel 😉)
I wish i werent on holiday now that i know that they ran! I cant be the only one who was thinking 049 would've been painted in her signature black roof rather than grey right?
@@class50thrasher Funny that I'm on holiday as well, went up to Scotland the day after these ran, but today on their return opted to drive up the (west) highlands rather than go to Edinburgh to see them
If you're on Facebook and part of the Fifty Fund group it was stated on the announcement post they were both going into Grey Roof to start off with, and this info did get out elsewhere but even then yes a lot of people were still unaware of the roof colours
@@PoxyMoxon97 Ah i was making my way back from north wales and it was too indirect to go and see them fly through, and i saw the thing on them going into grey roof i was just thinking how black roof would've been more fitting with defiance. but I cant complain really as they look lush as a pair!
Im just hoping the Fifty Fund can get the money for the fuel tank cleaning and get the other gubbins done on Hood so I can see her running again!
@@class50thrasher fair dos mate I understand that totally. We'll can only wait and see :)
Used to bank trains up there in the 90s
@@simonvaughan788 bloody, I bet that was fun and challenging to do so! Different railway now (unfortunately - in some ways)
@@PoxyMoxon97 yes based at Bescot but worked trains out of Saltley too.
@@simonvaughan788 fantastic
Great video. What camera did you use?
A shaky one
@@Philb68888 My camcorder is a Panasonic HC-V210, outdated as an old machine, however, still does the job for me. That always sots on the tripod if I am set up right, otherwise I also have phone shots (listed in the descriprion) which usually come after the camcorder shots :)
@@damiendye6623 That'll be the National Geographic tripod and/or my hands 😂
EMUs boring. Hoovers, wonderful.
@@brianwillson9567 Apologies for that, always love getting a shot of unit giving a good climb up the bank, but those Hoovers were just ace
Thing is EMUs actually get you to point B unlike leaving Reading in the late 70s. The Triumph Stag of BR sorry!
