It's a very helpful video for people who live in rental units and can't remove walls or hang things on the walls. They wouldn't be able to install the attic storage or the hanging storage units, but the wall mounted cabinet under the tv could be built with legs, and the bed with storage underneath could be done as long as it wasn't attached to the floor or walls. All the new storage units would be fine as free standing pieces. There aren't enough videos on the channel that deal with rental units, and I wish they'd showcase more.
An apartment located in the mega constrained Hong Kong and designed by two interior designers? Lots to learn from. I love the simple minimalistic design. Also loved that they made use of existing cabinets and fixtures to reduce wastage. Quite often you'll see designers removing existing cabinets and stuffs so I really appreciate their mindset. Good job to the owners and Never Too Small crew for this wonderful episode!
I'm so impressed that two people live here. That kitchen is amazing. They took a tiny kitchen in a tiny apartment and made it into a spacious kitchen with lots of counter and storage space without overwhelming the tiny apartment. I'm also really impressed with that makeup station. It's so perfectly multi-functional.
I love how the existing kitchen looks with the walnut cabinets. Goes to show we don't need to change everything, especially when it's perfectly functional. The colour scheme of the apartment is beautiful, I wish we could've seen the small balcony, it looks very serene. I lived in 30 sqm in my twenties and it wasn't nearly as spacious as this place- the power of great design.
The interior designers chose to keep the original floor plan - a decision that I agree with. The original floor plan was good enough, and there is no need for dramatic alterations such as dismantling a wall. One upside I noticed about the original floor plan was that there is unobstructed passage from the entrance to the balcony - you don't need to go around anything like a kitchen counter or wall. Such unobstructed passage from the entrance to that balcony allows natural light to fill the entire room once the curtains are open. The good thing is that the interior designers purchased the place. Though the original floor plan was kept intact, ownership of the place gave them the freedom to fit the apartment to their comfort and liking, such as installing extra cabinets - both the wall-length ones and the mounted ones. Great content! 👍

Depends on one's lifestyle I guess but the whole apartment feels like a storage room with storage on the walls, the ceiling and under the bed. If it was my apartment I would open up the space and take down the wall between the living and bedroom. The 3 meters ceiling height allows for a mezzanine for sleeping and I would have a big open living, kitchen, study and dining as one space. Too much storage means too much stuff 80% of which you probably don't need. That's just me. 😊

In Hong Kong's low income homes, this space could live a family more than 6 members! I love the platform/storage bed concept, which is brilliant in itself. My only observation is that they still have tons of stuff! When they opened those cabinets, I wondered how the space could be aesthetically improved if they paired down some of those items just a bit. They could have left the doors off, creating an accessible and visually appealing storage/display moment.
I appreciate that they worked with the existing kitchen and layout (which was good anyways). I know they have tall ceilings, but it definitely doesn't feel like 24 sqm. The one fixed element I would change is the bedroom door: I think a pocket door (like the bathroom one) would help create less visual clutter. I also don't like the couch and I would prefer something more comfortable. I also wonder why they didn't go for a loft bed.
I’d been waiting for a video like this on this channel - a true “never too small”. As a person grew up in Hong Kong, whenever I saw a “never too small” video on here but with a living space of 400/500 sq ft, and mostly lived by 1 person, I was like, you don’t know what “small” really is! Some of these apartments in Hong Kong live a family of 3 or 4, and the saddest thing about owning an apartment like this in Hong Kong isn’t so affordable for many. I couldn’t understand most of her English, too many mispronunciation, I had to turn the captions on. Wondering why couldn’t she just speak in Cantonese and have subtitles?

Superb. I could easily live here and not change a thing.
My favourite is the bathroom. It’s all anyone would ever need.
I also wonder why they didn't go for a loft bed.
thank god for the subtitles
A very clever use of small space. Well done to the designers!
Imagine how useful space it would be if people would stop having huge TV like that
That Walnut is Gorgeous !!!
I like the colour and wood scheme. I can live there 😊
Great use of space, both practical and aesthetically pleasing 🙂
my dream apartment. Beautiful design
Interior design is simple but practical, well done👍
btw. I am a HK people, my family is living in tiny apartment too😆
One of the best so far
I can't imagine waking up everyday with those huge skyscrapers and big tall buildings around me. I'd feel claustrophobic . I've never ever been in a place like that
I love that they made the best of what they had
Nice modern micro-apartment. I would imagine that whoever sleeps on the bed nearer the windows would have to disturb the other person to get up.
my first thought
Oooooo, i like this!!
I love the extendable tray table. It looks sturdy and can be adjusted to a variety of work heights, but it also looks like it can be folded completely and stored away. Did anyone catch who designed it / where it can be purchased?
Very clever overall, the only thing is lack of storage UNDER a custom sofa is a lost opportunity....
I like the material and color selection. 👍
wow clever utilization of space and storage! impressive!
Goodness me, this is a tiny flat especially for two persons
Welcome to Hong Kong
This design is freaking amazing!🎉❤
