A key aspect of telling a story with your lyrics is the use of descriptive language and imagery. Use vivid and evocative language to paint a picture in your listeners’ minds and help them see and experience your story. Use sensory details, metaphors, and other literary devices to bring your story to life and engage your listeners’ imaginations
I don't know if you'll be able to help me or not but I really want to start making my own music but I have no music knowledge and I struggle with learning because of my ADHD, feels like I'll never get there
Hey it's fine it's gonna take time but you can do it u just need passion that's it. You don't need to learn anything dear music is just about music not just words. Try instrumental music.
And as for producing things just start off w trying to learn a instrument,w many basic songs they only use 4 chords eg beabadoobee often only has a few chords in her songs :)
Annie, I've been writing songs since June and my songs, singing voice and dance moves have done nothing but get better, and now im preparing to release and album but the fact that I'm at point 1, I don't know how to promote myself. And I'd love a tutorial for that. (Also I'd love to send you some of my songs and you tell me if you like them)
HEY YALL THANKS FOR SWINGING BY 🧡 We’re back with another songwriting vid for you guys and I hope these tips help! **Just to correct myself, for CHORD INVERSIONS: a simple chord inversion is when you take the bottom note and put it on the top, so in the example I said with the 5th in the bass, it’s the 3RD that becomes the top note, not the root! my mistake! so a (1, 3, 5) becomes (3, 5, 1) then (5, 1, 3)
I’ve been working on a metal album for a while and even though our styles aren’t similar or anything, I’m still able to use a lot of your advice when working on my music, and I really value that! It’s cool how music works, thanks for the tips!:)
Hey Annie, thank u sm for these videos! Ur last tip is something I haven’t thought about and wanna try! Can you maybe make a video on best places online/offline to meet other musicians and songwriters to hopefully collaborate with?
i love to write but i literally feel like i have nothing to write about, i’ve never been in a relationship or a breakup and i feel like the things i have to say aren’t worth writing about so i feel like always have writers block lol
You can write about your crush or like your country anything you feel like trust me I can relate BC I'm young and I haven't been into a relationship or break up
Write about how your current experience makes you feel. Do you feel like you're missing out on certain parts of life? Do you feel like people don't really connect with you the way you wish they did? Do you feel excited to gain more experiences? Do you have dreams of certain things you'd like to do, that you'd write a song about if you did? Write about that.
A lot of great songwriters are book fanatics. Read literature. Watch lots of movies. Hell, there’s tons of bands who base their lyric content on a movie plot (ex: the Misfits). Lyrics don’t always have to revolve around silly cliche’s (no judgement) of romance and heartbreak.
hey! i write songs but i have no idea, how i can get in contact with a label. pls make a video about your way into the music industry. i think it could be very helpful for a lot of people :)
i’m not an expert but u should start beginning ur music career independently before looking for a label, start posting ur songs and building a fanbase otherwise labels wont recognize u
I'm looking for a video which help me writing lyrics when I bumped to your video. I have seen your thumbnails b4 but I havent clicked to any yet, I initially judged younger youtuber when I'm looking for tips/tutorial but I am really impressed by your video. Think that I might get rid of those judging attitude :)) Like, the 1st tip happens to be the nuance in writing music that I've bumped into lately and the inversions really help me out. I'm enjoying your video and will think about other tips about lyrics/songwriting to improve my projects. Thanks a lot.
thank you for these tips! I did a similar video a few years ago to my channel but there are things that I didn't know and you mention here! Thank you Annie! Hope you have a wonderful day. :)
I do use these, and there really simple. I know how to write I just don't know how to put the song to it ... and learning that seems a bit difficult but I'm glad I'm writing it better tho😅
You're assuming that other musicians, singers and songwriters are just laying around waiting to be picked up. I've been in this town over six years. I have yet to find another musician, little own a song writer that's willing to get together and create something. I can't even find anyone to just sit down and jam.
Like 5 month ago i decided to start writeing songs but i really didn't even knew what songwriting meant so it is very hard to try to not give up. I am really struggling about writing melody do you have some tips? ❤
Ok so I really and I mean really want to be able to make a song but I think im like to young… I am so bad at like getting my own ideas bc I listen to music like every hour everyday and I also can’t stop like using the same words of other singers and like vibe you know. If anyone and I mean anyone has any tips PLEASE PLEASE reply.:) thanks for reading byeeeee
Hey, I saw ur comment and a tip that I have to give u is when u have a idea of a song, first write it down then u can look for similar work on internet and search for more differents vocabularies. And when u do this, if u want to be more original, try to not think about others singers' song, but u can also think about them songs and catch new ideas.
I wrote a REALLY short song b4 its about a small crush i used to have on a guy (moved on cuz realised he's literally a red flag.) But the song ended up sounding cringey(???) I just dont like it i dont like how my voice sounded either, how to solve this problem 😭😭
I read the book 📖 first and then watch the film. And if you read the book and then watch the film you get more details for me I read the book 📖 the outsiders and then watch the film 🎞 and I realize that the movie 🍿 have less details like it’s like a broader overview of the subject but don’t give you the details. Books give you details if you read it more than 2 or more times similar to a recording album 💿 like say your favorite 🤩 artist is tears for fears and the album 💿 the seeds of love ❤ if you listen to the first time great 😌. But if you listen to it 2 or more times like 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 you’ll knowtice these details that are in a book 📖 for me if I had to choose for stronger between book 📖 vs movie 🍿 I would choose stronger by Jeff beauman because I would read it over and over and over again and find those details and books strengths your brain 🧠 and also books 📖 also more details because people want more details about the book 📖. While movie 🍿 it’s quicker and broader too.

Look up musicians with adhd you’ll find hundreds.
The number of people who want to make music but instead make excuses: millions.
And as for producing things just start off w trying to learn a instrument,w many basic songs they only use 4 chords eg beabadoobee often only has a few chords in her songs :)
Same problem here
as someone with adhd, i 100% understand the pain & struggle..
Your aesthetic is very cozy and I feel very comfortable, thank you
