This was an AMAZING unboxing, all the of the books just kept getting better (I don’t think the camera did A Temptation of Magic Justice, it looks so expensive and almost haunted in person)! And Owlcrate is just REALLY flooring me this year, they’ve really stepped up their book customizations to compete with the other major boxes and annotations like that are SO rare! I cannot WAIT to read Song of the Six Realms-it was on my most anticipated list before, and this edition has me even MORE excited! Thanks so much for watching and commenting 💕

I’ll let my husband know keeping the risky version of the edit was a win, we were afraid might we had too much fun amusing ourselves this time 😂 I’m hoping to find time for a whole fairy tale video at some point so I will definitely keep you posted. Anything with primal play always gets my attention, and Red Riding Hood adaptations usually, ahem, rise to the occasion, shall we say? I’m fairly knew to LGBTQ books aside from Why Choose MM scenes, Casey McQuistin made me realize what I was missing, but a SUPER underrated one is A Taste of Gold and Iron. Other than that I think I’ve mostly read and loved ones that are really popular and well-loved, the BookTube darlings I suppose. People can be a bit narrow-minded with MM romance …I’m not British or a vampire or a guy but I enjoy books narrated by characters who happen to be all of those things just the same so…I don’t get it. But then again, now I get Belle Box so I MIGHT be wearing a slightly smug smirk right now.
@@LitCouture Oh yes, the slightly risky editing was a huge win in my book! And thank you for the recommendation of A Taste of Gold and Iron! I will give that a read! As far as LGBTQ books go, I just finished reading Gideon the Ninth and REALLY enjoyed it! It is not a romance and is more of a gothic sci-fi (an epic tale of necromancy and exploration in space!) It had some dark themes but was actually incredibly hilarious because of the sarcastic tongue-in-cheek humor of the main character, Gideon! I am not a sci-fi girly myself and don't really reach for the genre, but I think it was not too complex or too gory or scary (as I cannot handle anything too scary or unsettling).
I loved Dreadful. I thought it was really funny and the character developement was really good. Also, Dreadful is not middle grade. Just FYI there's a lot of sexual innuendo in it. Not explicit but it is there, as well as occasional swearing,
OH WOW. So...I read the first page and NO IT IS NOT. B&N recommended it to me NOT because I was buying Whisperwicks but because it was one of their monthly picks...gonna learn how to do a hot fix so no one accidentally reads THAT to their five-year old-- YIKES! Now THAT was a dreadful mistake to make (sorry, couldn't resist). THANK YOU SO MUCH for telling me! But, um, is it bad that I'm now kind of (okay, totally) more excited to read it?

I thought this sounded like a good way to help my sensitive little soul get over her fear of "bad guys"-- it took us two days to get through Beauty and the Beast because she was afraid of THE BEAST. This would have been an unmitigated disaster, I appreciate the lack of a future heart attack I would have had while trying to edit the book while reading it out loud. And now I think I'll go pull it from the middle grade shelves in case my husband gets any bright ideas-- not that I can blame him, I'm starting to twitch when I hear the name "Amelia Bedelia" myself.
