Cowboy.... you are a God among men. I attempted this boss 50+ times (no exaggeration) and would run out of heals or the fire damage combos would get me. I watched this video, equipped Frost Lance as soon as I found out what it does.... and beat Lu Bu right then and there! Game changer.
anyone who is struggling i found an easy method to kill almost any boss in the game until late game just level up as much as you can earth virtue and embedments on weapons and armor for stone attack power and stone accumulation and use imposing slab skill on bosses i literally went to late game only running around and using imposing slab skill on bosses and killed them easily
Once again ,Fighting Cowboy,you have proved your worth. I took the advice of going solo with this fight and I kicked Lu Bu’s ass after a couple of hours of fighting . I used the Vicious Tiger armor ,however ,and used the Invictus Serpent Spear 4 Star with upgrade up to 329. It worked beautifully . I liked that you also compared this fight to Sekiro’s Genichiro Ashina fight because that’s how it felt to me. Going back on some side missions proved that the fight was designed to hone your skill. Thanks again for a great tutorial.

This Lu Bu fight was so epic. I also today got him as I was rocking my earth defense build. Although I had few about 10-15 attempts to learn his attack patterns and critical blows. And also great fight Cowboy that was impressive run on Lu Bu✊✊
I absolutely loved to dynasty warriors series when I was younger with hundred hours into the 3rd series, so as soon as I saw LuBu I was terrified of what was to come 😅
I know Cowboy likes to focus more on the wizardry spells, but he’s really undermining the potency of the martial arts available to him. “Endless Flowering” (the set martial art on the duel swords that he’s currently using) alone, can not only stun-lock both Sun Ce and Sun Jian in that “skill fight”, but also block any attack coming your way that is not a red, critical attack. Paired with the highest spirit-gain per second weapon in game; dual-swords, you got yourself a good 10, 15 seconds of uninterruptible hits doing either HP or spirit damage (better spirit-damage wise) (Later on in the game, you can switch to Sun Ce’s Dual Halberds for a mobile version of the exact same martial art for more HP damage wise)
Gotta love Lu Bu's intro cutscene, its the game going 'Yes this is Lu Bu, he's a total badass and now you have to fight him, good luck'. Really makes you go 'this is gonna hurt' at the end.
Dude i recruited two actual people for this fight, none of us downed at all but then again I was spamming the healing spell every chance I got and two of us were running water builds so we did it it took longer than I thought it was gonna take even with the help but we parried his attacks well and constantly spamming water spells whenever we could, once we got him off his horse a few times that’s when we did a lot of dps, plus I suck at this game so the help is nice
6 hours and around 100 fights but i finally got him, and man did it fill good to kick his ass. great tips cowboy. the frost swords made a big difference and getting the timing down.
I was struggling & then I equipped ominous chill & spammed it, easily won first try. That’s the closest thing to a cheese strategy because it does massive damage, you still have to hit your deflects but it made it much much easier.
I would still go into the fight with Ominous Chill on. Whenever he is on horseback and starts dragging his weapon on the ground in preparation to shoot arrows, hit him with an Ominous Chill. Since he stops in place to shoot the arrows, it usually hits him and does a pretty decent amount of damage.
21:18 the best and easiest way to kill them is to use martial art on the dual swords the one where you dodge to the right before attacking it just melts
I like being aggressive during horse phase. You can stun him with chill and do a lot of damage with ice weapon. Just run toward him and use aqua blink through the arrows. You still need to deflect attacks so don't commit too hard on the combos.
I did the same, iceswords and go, right from the start, you get some good damage in, but with light armor he two-hits you, so I died a lot until I got very aggressive. The blink move is the best skill ever, I use it the whole time.
@@itsnows you can do so much damage on horse phase it might be better to not deflect his critical blows so he stays in that phase longer. no fatal strike when he jumps off the horse anyways.
@@urameshiyaa2830 was just kidding. Looks like ice attack murders him. He keeps running into it getting stalled for a second. Enough for both team members to get hits in. Still die at least 9 out of 10 times when I redo him though D: saw a very cool working video on YT.
Quick tip: when you use Qilin beast, you have to make the enemy walk into the pillars or you have done 0 damage. Cowboy dropped down the pillars and then stood in front of them like a newb. Wasted them.
Took me a while to take him down, the previous bosses you could be fairly aggressive and stagger them. This fight is it a little more attrition and deflecting and using tiny windows to get 2-3 hits and wear him down.
Fight is much easier with Allies u can still deflect and get ur criticals but it also gives u a chance to peel away at him while he’s attacking the others there’s too many chances to mess up when ur alone
8:20 ouch, just reset Divine Beast gauge with that switch . Qinglong is a good shout - but probably want to make that switch earlier. That said, most of us mere mortals will be dying on the first attempt... and a few more after, so there's time to charge that gauge 😏
First try - thanks Cowboy Second try on two warrior dudes (water build) - thanks again Cowboy Martial arts seem a waste of spirit to me. I don’t use them. Normal and heavy attack all the way, combined with patience, deflecting and spells.
I tanked him with solid earth build and cornered him using a tower then exploding earth pillar spell and my adds keeping him against the tower. Earth beast while he was still on his horse got him 80% down in hp before he got off the horse.
using aqua blink in this fight really helped .. just blink threw his arrows and get loads of damage with ice weapon... also hit him lots with basic attack with ice weapon for easy stagger on him... u can be aggressive just need to pick when.
@versteegrob By doing what I said. I'm not sure what else I can tell you. Find one you can hit him with. Or just kill him normally because he's not that hard. He's certainly nowhere near as difficult as the main boss behind the doors.
Lu Bu fight almost made me uninstall this game. Finally got through after a lot of attempts and failures. Dragon pot and dragon cure powder saved me. The Sun Ce and Sun Jian fight was easier than I thought. Used water build but the ominous chill never seemed to worked well so I used a lot of ice traps instead.
I used two companions and ominous chill/spike trap and defeated lu bu with ease. Edit: killed him on my 3rd or 4th attempt. Experimenting with solo vs various companions.
Beat Lu Bu and I have to say it did not take too much effort (10 attempts or so but the first 5 where blind and the one that worked was after looking at a lot of videos. I got a LOT better at deflecting that is for sure :X) Main issue from what i got from the fight: a critical hit by Lu Bu is fatal. Important parts of my setup. 40 water, 4 metal. remainder I kept in wood (20) Farmed the top side of this map for some levels and materials. +4, hp+, ice dmg, chill on all weps and armor. Used 2 allies and all I did was cast Ominous chill when he was close and ice arrow when he was not close and I carefully applied ice weapon every so often if I notice Lu Bu was going towards me and I had a second of 2 to apply it. Lu Bu did less than 15 red attacks and I could manage all attacks with block and (an attempt to) deflect. Used 3 healing pots and 1 dragon cure powder in total (that amazed me the most; and one of those heals was to get to allies to revive them).
I had a lot of trouble with him; I could handle all of this moves except the one where he drags his spear, picks you up, and throws you down on fire. I died to this I don't know how many times. Finally I figured out that I just needed to run away from that move (like Cowboy does) and then I could survive and kill him. I also respecced to get the damage on my weapons up as high as I could in hopes of hurrying the fight alone a little bit and maybe that helped.
I have 6 heals +3 I'm level 32? Ish? And I cannot kill this guy. He is insane. He one shots me or two shots me and I'm constantly using heals. I gotta get gud and deflect everything I know. I get him off his horse and sometimes I deflect the jumping flame attack. Fml. After that he just wrecks me every time and I've been fighting him for over an hour
Hey CB, is the Sky Piercing Halberd not a guaranteed drop from Lu Bu? Would you have to repeat the fight to get the weapon? Also, what is the name of the dual swords you're using for the water set?
I don’t think you can even get the halberd until after you fight Lu bu much later in the game again. I believe all the missions in part 6 have the chance to drop it but you can check the wiki to confirm. Your best shot is to run an easy sub mission in part 6 over and over with a luck build.
this boss is driving me crazy I died so many times to him is there a trick to this fight I am able to somewhat deflect his criticals while he is on horseback but the one crit I'm having a hard time to dodge is the one on foot where he does his his flaming spear leap. What is the timing on this attack because I'm not able to deflect this completely. The other foot criticals he does I can time but not the flaming spear leap crit it gets me every time because it happens so fast to read the timing.
@@tomchan742 earth build is key in this fight, after every deflect throw down imposing slab. No need for a weapon for that fight except for the use to deflect. Also put enough points in wood for 500hp. Also use dragon cure powder as well. Best of luck. It’s an amazing boss when u figure him out
Lu Bu is so much worse when you change difficulty. I can't beat that f****r the second time around. 😢 Update: 5 minutes after initially posting this I beat him on "NG+" . I should delete this.
I killed him in the first attempt. I think dying billions of times in Sekiro has changed me 😂. This game feels too easy, I also do not play ver well but the amount of healing items is just enough to beat every. boss. I just died 3 times fightin FENGs XI.
I think it’s because you use ally all the time. I play alone, killed the mini boss outside the gate at first try and beat Lu Bu at 6th try (my 2nd and 4th attempts were very closed to defeat him, just too greedy). He is must easier than outside area 🤣
Wo long = Nioh on Extra Easy mode lol (Its fun yes, but i beat every boss except maybe 2 or 3 the first time i fought them through button mashing and a block here and there. And the 2 or 3 within a couple of fights. There we zero two hour sweating palm crampy hand battles where you could barely contain yourself when you finally came out victorious.) Yes, NG+ is reasonably harder but only because they just make every boss one shot you. Thats not great design. Since you have already played through it loses that initial overcoming adversity value. Still a fun game and i was happy to play it but just not as good as Nioh, DS, ER, LotF, BB etc
I mean, to each their own and what not... but there's no way Lotf is a better game. At least Wo Long has polish, and skill actually matters. Lotf was just "wear heaviest armor, wield heaviest weapons= easy win; anything else is just a slog. It's a game to play when you have no other game lol. I can understand not liking Wo Long as much as Fromsoft games (though Nioh 2 is still way better, gameplay wise, than any of them IMO), But LOTF? C'mon now... lol

The Ballista cowboy uses at 1:26, you can actually shoot the mini boss on the ground to 1/3 health to make the fight easier 👍
If you hit the 3 arrows on the miniboss you can actually kill him, maybe morale also counts for that.
Yeah, I shot him in the head fucking around and did half his health. Wasn't expecting him to chase me so far though. Still beat him though
Not on the PS4. This stage has a lot of pop ins. I literally can’t see the enemies on this map unless I’m a few feet away

I changed builds but ended up sticking with my fire build. Is all about blocking & getting those deflect in.

Ominous chill is the only reason I won and I Perry’d everything when he was enchanted
I had to summon in a friend. I was just getting impatient and wanted to move to the next level. It was still a hell of a battle with the two of us.
I hate being hard stuck on this boss and then watch cowboy beat him by himself in like not even 10 mins

You can force trigger his horseback critical blow attack by putting down an ice trap when his spirit bar is high

You can hit the big guy before the boss door with a giant crossbow from across the map. It takes him down to a few hits.

Very fun fight but NG+ is hard no mistakes allowed deflecting criticals.
Why do you only have 4 wizard spell slots?
This area was a confusing slog the 1st time thru.

Its a solid game, just be patience most people are sayings it bad because its "hard". At times it can be glitchy but I have not had many problems.
I've just been playing it on gamepass, would reccomend that.
Defeated him on the second try easiest boss no cap 🤡 jk I had to focus up but it was fun ☺️
I killed him in the first attempt. I think dying billions of times in Sekiro has changed me 😂. This game feels too easy, I also do not play ver well but the amount of healing items is just enough to beat every. boss. I just died 3 times fightin FENGs XI.

Lu Bu took me around 40-50 tries to beat him.
The important thing is that you beat him eventually :), took me around 30-40 tries too I think.
I think it’s because you use ally all the time. I play alone, killed the mini boss outside the gate at first try and beat Lu Bu at 6th try (my 2nd and 4th attempts were very closed to defeat him, just too greedy). He is must easier than outside area 🤣

The 1/3 of the game was ok, 2/3 was easy, 3/3 was a joke, but i liked it anyways.
I like to think it's Dynasty Warriors with some Nioh gameplay which DW is a power fantasy game. It made the most sense to me that way
Wo long = Nioh on Extra Easy mode lol (Its fun yes, but i beat every boss except maybe 2 or 3 the first time i fought them through button mashing and a block here and there. And the 2 or 3 within a couple of fights. There we zero two hour sweating palm crampy hand battles where you could barely contain yourself when you finally came out victorious.) Yes, NG+ is reasonably harder but only because they just make every boss one shot you. Thats not great design. Since you have already played through it loses that initial overcoming adversity value. Still a fun game and i was happy to play it but just not as good as Nioh, DS, ER, LotF, BB etc
I mean, to each their own and what not... but there's no way Lotf is a better game. At least Wo Long has polish, and skill actually matters. Lotf was just "wear heaviest armor, wield heaviest weapons= easy win; anything else is just a slog.
It's a game to play when you have no other game lol.
I can understand not liking Wo Long as much as Fromsoft games (though Nioh 2 is still way better, gameplay wise, than any of them IMO),
But LOTF? C'mon now... lol
