Ah! What a synth!
I’ve had mine a month now and wow, what an amazing experience. I’m predominantly a guitarist but love to tinker with synths and now have Super Gemini, Jupiter X, pro 3, SE-02, JU-06A and a TR-8S. I love the interface on the Gemini, it encourages you to experiment.
Thanks Rudiger, what a great demo
Great sounds! Thank you for the video
great sounds ... the Gemini is definitely in my Top 4 of current production polysynths (with the Melbourne Nina, 3rd Wave, and Arturia Polybrute)
I played it at Superbooth last year and was completely carried away by the amazing sounds you can get out of it. Great video, Rüdiger!
Thanks, Bernd. It’s a very creative instrument and perfect for live playing
Absolutely beautiful sounding synth. Love your playing abilities and the programs you have made for the Super Gemini. I just pulled the trigger on one this past Friday and can hardly wait to get and do some sonic exploration.
Thank you very much. Have much fun and inspiration with your Super Gemini!
AWESOME!!!! Later this year I'll be selling my Super 6 for the Gemini. I just need to heal up first, as I've done nothing musically in months now due to pain injuries. Keep up the fantastic work, Rüdiger! :)
Thank you so much, Sean. I have the same decision, I still have my super 6 and I struggle to buy a super Gemini. It’s really an amazing synthesizer . I just had it here for a review. I wish you all the best and get well soon without any pain.
Great show of what the super Gemini can do. Thank you for the video, and I really appreciate when people do not play chariots of fire. 😂
De+ né?! 😅 beautful sound
I really want to buy this but I feel I’d get confused on stage without some type of screen letting me know which patch I’m on, dealing with 10-20 songs
Yes exactly, not being able to see the patch name is confusing. Also when you try to modify an existing patch, there’s no easy way to see which modulations are programmed in the modulation matrix. They have a system where you press a sequence of buttons and some leds will flash and by counting the number of flashes it will tell you the source, destination and amount of a specific modulation slot. I get that there’s no menu diving but having to learn key combinations to make the synth spit out some sort of Morse code to tell you which modulation is programmed in a modulation slot is not an improvement over menu diving.
@@Farold_Haltermeyer It’s perfect for my studio, decided to pull the plug
@@Mercy_Pants soz, was responding to the others :) So how are you getting on with it?
Hi. What is your felling between Gemini and Modal 002/008? I have money for one of these. Thanks
If you want to get a Super Gemini, ask the question in a Super Gemini-biased section. If you want to get a Modal 002/008, go and ask the question where there are fans of those. At the end of the day somebody else's feelings are just those, feelings. What is right for you, only you can decide. Like any artist or tradesperson, the talent lies within, not with the tools. Most synths cover most bases adequately enough, so what is it that YOU specifically want in a synth? Different people have different needs and wants. Some prefer VSTs with controller and laptop, some prefer hardware. Some prefer digital, some prefer analog, some prefer a hybrid variant. Some prefer screens and menus, some prefer more hands on controls. Some like a more vintage look, some like a more modern look.
Surely there is enough content out there for you to know which one is right for you? Go and try them. If you ever get to the point where you are nit-picking between something like this, Polybrute 12, Moog Muse or even then older Rev2 and Novation Summit, you are at a point where the only thing that matters is the feeling you get inside when you turn it on and press the keys. Beyond that, none of those mentioned are going to help you or improve your music.
@@alexandrebaroni1057 the modal 002 is almost not available. It’s a very unique synth and personally I prefer it over the SG. The SG other other hand is extremely capable and the two manuals are amazing and in combination with poly aftertouch routing almost everywhere it’s so creative. So very difficult question.
@@vintagesynths Thanks. I already bought the SG. But always looking for "rare" and different Synths.
@@alexandrebaroni1057 002 is definitely rare (500 units or so) and special. One of my favourites, but S6 goes further and is extremely creative. Good choice
Cold? Never! Super 6 has the best bass I ever heard. My SSL SiX easily tames high frequencies, leaving the filter to shape tonality. Super Gemini is a step too much money for me, having already bought a Super 6. I can easily layer say my Korg Modwave via MIDI and the mixer.
Wunderest tag fur dich!
I would like to ask about keybed/action.. How does the polyaftertouch react and feels? Is it similar to Hydrasynth or Waldorf (smooth response through whole action) or more like what Behringer did with UBXa (and how actual classic CS-80 behaves) with "wall" before transition to aftertouch expresivity. Thank you!
I find it nicer than the Hydrasynth key bed. The Gemini uses the new Fatar poly aftertouch keybed. It is a slightly heavy synth action with nice travel, no noise or clicks when keys are pressed hard or soft. It is a pleasure to play and the poly aftertouch velocity curve is very smooth.
@@BubbleFilmsthat’s simply not true. I played this at SynthFest 2023 and it had headphones plugged in. Before I put the headphones on I had a play on the keybed. Yes it’s smooth, but no noise when pressed hard…give me a break. It’s fine to like a product but no need to make stuff up about it. Like any keybed, the key action makes a noise. With headphones, you likely won’t hear it. With loud external speakers, you likely won’t hear it. With quiet external speakers, you are going to hear the action at times, simple as that.
@@X22GJP I own the synth. Of course sound is made when keys are pressed (we don’t live in a vacuum now do we). What I was describing, albeit incompletely, is that the Gemini keys do not make any unusual noises or clicks compared to other key beds that can sometimes have those issues due to the design of their components and construction. And you can certainly play it without headphones or loud monitors without hearing the key action in a distracting way.
Amazing.
👌💪
Ist dir was aufgefallen?
Nice 😊😊
Apologies if you mention this in the video and I missed it, but are you using any external effects?
There are only the internal delay and sometimes internal chorus from the super Gemini. No external fx used.
This is by far the best demonstration of the super Gemini I have heard. Thank you very much great playing!!
Thank you so much!
Agreed. Cemented my purchase of the synth. I hope you'll make the patches available to purchase also!
