    Great video fills in the gaps absent in the manual .What a great TT.

    Hi. Very useful and informative. My arm was initially set up by the dealership. So nice to know how it’s done. Mine is on a Versalex. Great tt and arm.

    Good evening. Can you set up the Platform with the arm yourself? Are there any instructions on how to do it? If it is deregulated, can you reset it?

    Hi
    So I'm sure it makes a notable difference whether you set the tonearm to the desired pickup force after filling the oil pan with oil, or as shown in the clip when the oil pan is still empty.
    Then the buoyancy is missing. This is the force that lifts the golf ball. And dampes the arm.
    The golf ball floats in the oil and displaces as much volume of oil as it dips and is lifted. That's what they call buoyancy, like by ships. For that reason heavy ships changed there avarage specific gravity ans they sink to a certain extentand, so called swimming.
    That means the ship has not changed their mass ( or weight... difference!) but two counter-forces, gravity and buoyancy, displaced water from heavy metal but a lot of light air inside, interact with the result that the ship seems to be lighter than water.
    Technical this ships are overwaterships and submarines are underwaterships.
    So I think you should only adjust the sampling weight when the golf ball is floating in the oil.
    The buoyancy of the air is surely different of the buoyancy of the oil.
    To swim in the air, means to fly like a plane that is an other technic but the same principle.
    Setting the force when the play conditing are fullfill.... you are sure that the tracking force measured is also the effective force.
    In any case, I only ever set the pickup-force if the oil damping is guaranteed.... to be on the safe side!
    The implemented principle of the LTD- arm is ingenious, unique and original, precisely because of the golf ball floating in the oil.

    hi
    i have set mine up according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer but my tonearm is still "uphill" and i have run out of adjustment, that is the tonearm post is all the way up. any suggestions? i noticed that you only gave the grommet 1/2 turn for the anti skate but the instructions say one full turn. which is correct?

    Good morning. Can we have instructions for placing the Plato and the arm in Greek? Can I order the Verxalex with the best arm from you? How much is the Plate and arm now? thanks!

    Cool video. Question for you. With tonearms like this, why is there no adjustment for cartridge overhang/alignment?

    • @SoundlineAudioNewZealand
      @SoundlineAudioNewZealand  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is a small amount of alignment adjustment but much less overhang adjustment than normal. In this case we usually say to customers that it is one less thing to worry about as the turntable has already been designed and built to allow the cartridge to align properly. This turntable is often paired with Dynavector cartridges when sold which is what they are designed around so very little chance of getting a cartridge thats geometry doesn't work with the tonearm.

      @@SoundlineAudioNewZealand I don't agree with the analysis you limited to what cartridges you can use! why they didn't have the sliding system like other arm's I don't understand then it would be adjustable, can you take that out is it removable headshell

    How much do those tonearms cost and are they any good
    What do the manufacturers say about anti-skate

    How do you adjust the antiskating?

    • @johnsweda2999
      @johnsweda2999 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you do it by how many turns of the fishing cord on the eyelet plus how thick the dampening oil is could add petroleum jelly both forces working against each other should give you the right anti skate. and fine adjustments moving the post the whole assembly in the cup should give you less or more torque

    I’m thinking of buying one of these for my LP-12 - is there no side bias adjustment on them?

    • @SoundlineAudioNewZealand
      @SoundlineAudioNewZealand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, I do not know what you mean by "Side bias". Is this the same as Antiskate? If so, the antiskate force on this tonearm will in theory be affected by how much silicon gel is in the cup.
      More Gel would give the tonearm more sideways resistance (higher antiskate).

    How many steps could be omitted with a proper suspension thread length... An effective mass is tiny as I see that. Thus, only vintage cartridges are compatible.

    • @balleclorin2804
      @balleclorin2804 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      10 grams is the same as SME V. Low/Medium Mass. Works fine with many cartridges. Most of the time the resonance is on the low side with present cartridges( say ant Audio Technica) , which means a heavier arm is even worse.
