What a surprise! Love it❤ Please, sir, more of the beautiful UK. My roots are much there, but I currently live in South Carolina. I spend much of my youtube viewing all things UK.
Yes, it's to do with a license. A local friend said they've had the problem with the council who issues it for a long time. It's such a shame. We'd just paid for the whole holiday. Doubt, we'll get the chance again.
Quite tragic - some carriages with sealed closed windows; diesel at the back. Not the Jacobite that thousands have experienced over the years, in carriages all with opening windows, and purely steam, one loco at the front, nothing at the back. Looks like a trial run with no passengers, I couldn’t see any. The token steam loco sound reflected the arrangement that the diesel would push the whole thing up to Glenfinnan station. Necessary because although the steam loco has power to pull the seven carriages, it can’t cope with the added weight of the diesel at the back.
FANTASTIC, THANK YOU, PAIL, LOVE THIS TRAIN !

I'm supposed to go on this next week, but they just cancelled our trip in April and said its not running!
I was also hoping to have a ride while I was in Scotland but unfortunately I think some of the carriage doors failed a safety check.
