Birth control pills are used very commonly to treat acne in teens. Doesn't mean your sexually active just because you're on the pill

Teens shouldn’t take the pill tho I get bad acne and cramps on my periods but I’m only 15 and taking the pill will only fuck up your cycle which is still developing . Before taking the leap into taking the pill they should take natural options such as evening primrose oil which i rake and it helps a lot with acne ( I also use tea tree for spots and it’s good as well )as well as hot water bottle for cramps . I just don’t agree with it

I don’t think anyone needs lecturing about whether it’s safe or not for them by someone who isn’t medically qualified, as they’ve literally already had that conversation with a doctor.

Jesus bruce, birth control is not only for not getting pregnant. Its also period cramps, acne and unregular periods. The reason I went on birth control (i was also 15) to have control over my periods, for example i didnt want to have mine at my beach holiday.

I went on it due to period pains also at about 15ish. Also my cousin went on it even younger as she struggled with acne. It helped us both out. I didn’t really get period pains often after I went on them, once in a while. Now I’m on the contraceptive implant in my arm and it’s made me not have a period in nearly 3 years... It’s great lol.

It's not though, it's normal for people with naturally light or average periods to stop having them all together on hormonal birth control. How it works is by tricking your body into thinking you're pregnant so that it doesn't release an egg. But it does it on the minor scale so you don't get the side effects of being pregnant, but that is where the side effects from birth control come from ie. mood changes, breast tenderness, weight gain or bloating etc. There is nothing irreversible from hormonal birth control that means you can't have children in the future, I know people who have had the implant who now have kids and they actually recommended it to me
Literally the worst that can happen from the implant is having the scar on your arm or gaining like 30kg
I have a transplant in my arm because I can't stop my bleeding for 6 months they can't put it anywhere because I'm a virgin so they put it in my arm and its been two months I still can't stop bleeding now the other doctor said that this transplant is the cause that I can't stop bleeding and you should take it out from your arm at this point I don't know what to do
Birth control pills saved my best friend’s skin. She used to have horrible hormonal acne and the pill cleared up her whole skin. She used to have her period twice a month and now her cycle is regular af.
btw the bleeding that occurs during the break / when taking the placebo pills is actually not a "period" but a bleeding due to not taking the pills.
So basically you can skip the breaks.

If my dad looked what I’ve been prescribed I would be so angry, I went on birth control at around 14 and a half because of ridiculously bad period pains which turned out to be a lot worse when I got my blood tested, kidneys looked at etc.

Parents need overall understand that their children are not going to stay 10 years old forever. Part of being a teen is to know how to take care of your body and explore what you like and not, and learn to set boundaries and listen to others’ boundaries. They also need to know how their body works and how to tend to it. It’s truly bad parenting to go the ”I forbid you to...” route! Why on earth would anyone think they did a good job parenting by not informing their child on crucial things such as sexual health etc.!?

I started taking the pill to regulate my period because it could come and be really heavy for a week and then disappear for 3 months at a time. I never get cramps now either, my periods gotten so light and It feels nice knowing when exactly it’s coming and not worrying if I could be walking around with a blood stain.

It has nothing to do with being sexually active half the time. I was a virgin until my late 20s. It would have been hurtful for people to have made assumptions about me before that based on the fact that I was on birth control. Men need to be more educated about women’s health, so they don’t make hurtful assumptions.

I had dysmenorrhea, my mom a nurse, would just tell me I had to live with it. My older sister took me to a women's clinic when I was 15, because she saw how much pain I was in, the vomiting and passing out. We did not tell my mom, but it did help and I no longer had to fear my cycle.
