Me too. But when I listened to Lana Del Rey she sounds much different. It's just same crazy creepy spectrum on some songs :-) And high pitched voice with nice variability (I don't have words to describe)
i was surprised to hear that anyone sounded like Holly, but when I listed to Lana I have to say they don't sound that alike. They both rely on a lot of soft voicing and ample amounts of reverb and maybe similar types of songs. But behind that there is a strong difference. Holly has a sweet haunting sound and Lana has more attitude and grit. I think Lana is more mature and uses a wider range of emotional dynamics, but she could never get that complete otherworldly sound (not just reverb) that Holly gets. I have heard others comment on the dark sound, but not as often as I would expect, but Holly has an almost dark depressed quality that is a foundation to that sweetness. Everyone says she sounds like an angel, but I hear maybe an angel that has seen too much. I liked the siren analogy. Wispy, haunting, alluring, but deadly.
