Except there is, because Venom is actually canonically stronger than Hulk now (he ended up defeating Dark Carnage who equalled a symbiote-boosted Hulk in a fistfight, and then became even stronger after that in the King in Black event). Also, Venom threw hands with Juggernaut, who is Hulk-tier, and won. So yeah.

It's actually endearing in a way, since it's like Logan is seeing past the monstrous exterior and sees him as a regular guy with issues. Considering since he's a mutant he knows the feeling, even around other mutants at times

Even though Venom ain't a mutant, he ironically looks more monstrous than the majority of the X-Men (even Beast looks more like a person than Venom's huge white eyes and needle-like teeth), and he's also been pelted with accusations of being a monster despite genuinely wanting to do good (even at his worst, he was never aiming to hurt innocent people). When Logan was making fun of Veno, he was basically roasting his past self.

Interesting how Venom stops saying "we" when he says, "I fucked up Spiderman." Almost like the peak of their insecurity is causing either the symbiote or Brock to get so angry that one of them takes over completely for a moment.
I think it might actually be that Brock and the symbiote hate Spider-Man so much their bond was strong enough for them to consider themselves one thing. Kinda like how carnage and Cassidy are a perfect match and therefore they don’t refer to themselves as “we” just “I”. But I like your interpretation too!

I've admired Eddie (and venoms) growth as a character, from villain driven by single minded instincts, to starting to question their place in society being an anti hero vigilante, to being a father and protecting his son, to straight up saving the universe.

A lot of people hate villains becoming heroes but if done well over time I think it works. The Emma Frost, Juggernaut and Venom we have now took many years and some occasional relapsing into old ways to get to where they are now.

If you go back to the eighties there is an old Marvel two in one where the Things walks into a bar and sees the Sandman having a drink and he picks up a barstool and is about to hit him with it and Sandman says go ahead he doesn.t care and the Thing instead sits down and they talk over a beer it is a great story with the only fights being in flashbacks.

Alright here's a question to think on what do you think would beat the other the hunger virus or survivor 21 (the cannibal virus) if a zombie infected a cannibal would survivor 21 counter act it since it was made to help survive anything or if a zombie was infected or doused in survivor 21 would it reversed the process or would it be over whelmed by the hunger virus and turn the infected back into human or then turn them into a cannibal and when i mean doused i mean the way Frank was covered in it making him immune to it

I like how any other hero/villain would've been killed by Venom tearing through them. But Wolverine is just a hard counter to Venom, both physically and mentally. As it takes an animal to know an animal, Logan knows what Eddy/Venom goes through and knows the only way he can be convinced to change his ways is an ass whooping.
Its always fun when they scrap. The 1st time i ever seen it was playing the Ultimate spider-man game.

A lot of people talking about "Logan beating Venom" and how that makes no sense. What happened really is they have an altercation, Logan makes a point and then leaves. Venom is in the ground and immediately gets up. Is not that big of a deal; if you are a fan of fighting games lore you know what I'm talking about. Also really nice choice of music; I love Bloody Tears OST.
Really I do hate they whole "Its up to the writer" bull shell, its why we get Thor killing Galactus in his title but losing to Moon Knight in the Avengers. I get why its a thing but I would rather there be a set power level and they have to get clever with the writing. Like here....Wolverine and Venom would end up fighting for days and in the end Logan may be overwhelmed cause he still needs rest eventually. Logan's dangerous not because of his power....its his 180 years as a warrior trained by the best and honed by battle. Eddie and Venom can't hope to match that experience.
@@LaughingOwlKiller Completely agree; I think this was handled extremely well, respecting both characters. It's sadly a common trope in comics to have a character being a jobber to make others take the spotlight; without any concern to the consistency issues that may bring. I still cannot overcome the fact that a comic where Squirrel Girl defeated Thanos ever was conceibed; I understand is a joke character, but tbh it is just unfunny and lazy; as ridiculous as Thor losing to MK.
Yeah both of these characters are extremely strong in their own rights and can't easily come out on top over one another. Having it be more of a mental game is the most respectful overall to give an excuse for a fun fight
It is up to the writer though. Different writers will have different interpretations or views on characters and their strength and portrayal of them. And that’s okay. Makes for a good variety.

Thanks to the sjws. Who’d rather push there far left Marxist agenda then write good stories. Main stream comics are now nothing more than propaganda leaflets yes green arrow and green lighting did that in the 70s but the difference was quality storytelling artwork action and a balanced presentation of views from the left and the right if your gonna throw politics and social issues in the mix that’s the way to do it. Personally I prefer to just be entertained and immersed even educated but not preached and talked down to. I ll just stick to classic stories from the back issue bin

Any of you ever played the Ultimate Spider-Man PS2 game back in the day where you could play as Spider-Man and Venom. I think Venom’s first boss fight was Wolverine, also at a bar funnily enough.
This wasn’t just humbling. It was a life lesson and one Venom seemed to take. That’s not only impressive (that Wolverine can talk down Venom) but also wise on Venom’s part for allowing those words to stick. Yeah he’s still a jerk but he stopped and thought about it. These panels say a lot about both characters

This one always was great to me, mostly because he’s basically fighting Spider-Man’s version of Sabertooth, Wolvie and Spidey are both small guys with animal themes, whose main villains are basically huge versions of themselves, so having them face each other’s rivals is definitely a fun moment.
Aah There’s a great comic dub of this battle somewhere on the site. And its a hell of a fight! When wolverine makes that comment about Spiderman being twelve i just imagine the mcu version protesting with a voice crack pfft!

Not a huge fan of the animation you add to some of the actions. The artists already drew it to look dynamic, so the addition of the animation seems forced and awkward imo. Still great work tho and thanks for bringing more awesome comics to us

Well if someone like Logan made you doubt what you are doing, your focus in battle will be destroyed. Sure Venom could beat him but Logan can last long enough to make venom feel bad for himself. Thats what I think when I saw this fight.
Venom is a joke compared to The Hulk, who is the one Wolverine struggles with.

Also wolverine kinda works against hulk since he is faster than hulk, his weapon can hurt hulk and he is very durable himself,but venom is basically a counter for wolverine,he is faster, stronger to boot

This match-up is always up to the author to decide who wins it because both characters are extremely tanky, have healing factors, and very few weaknesses to exploit.

Literally one of Venom's weaknesses is something mankind has had access to since the stone age while taking just one of Wolverine's limbs off requires either immense amounts of strength, magical means of breaking adamantium, or something else that specifically cuts vibranium or bypasses healing factors.

This also wasn't a fight to the death, but a narrative fight. Wolverine won because he convinced Venom not to drag the fight on. A real fight to the death could have been different. Or the same. Close fight.

Honestly, this is pretty good moment for both Venom and Wolverine as characters.
As much as I like venom he needed to be taken down a notch and wolverine was the perfect person to do it but I am still team venom here. Plus I like the naruto song playing it takes me back to my childhood.

Venom has had some huge upgrades recently, yes. Not relevant to this particular fight years prior to that though, except anything the symbiote was getting up to before spiderman.
I really liked this, especially since this fight would go nowhere fast as neither one of them can really do anything to keep the other down. So Wolverine is able to talk his way out of the fight, because Wolverine is probably one of the very few people in the Marvel universe that can relate to Venom (Hulk might be another one), he's able to understand first hand what its like to be angry, to be viewed, treated, and feel like a monster, so he gave Venom a chance. No one actually won this fight since again neither one can kill the other, but Wolverine was still able to end the fight by giving Venom a chance, by making him consider if he just wants to be a monster or something else.
This is a game of brains, because these two are kinda similar and so goddamn tanky they could fight for days, if Logan has a way into Venom's head then this is the result

What a Zabuza Naruto moment, it makes no actual sense for Wolverine to beat Venom without using Venom's weaknesses. So instead Venom's just like "Your words cut deeper than any blade." Also I think this is a little bit of a thing that any writer can just make a character win whatever fight they want as long as they want him too.

Wolverine's own dodging ability and strength is actually pretty under rated , normal grunts whether they be highly trained soldiers or The Hand ninjas actually can't tag him cause of how wild and fast he moves and attacks.

This writing is god-awful. Why would Venom go into a bar looking for Spider-Man? I get Wolverine stays at bars all the time, and that the writer wanted them to fight, but Venom would not look for Spider-Man at a freaking bar. The symbiote literally knows Spider-Man is Peter Parker and other personal things about him.
Why is Wolverine in costume at the bar?? He only wears the costume on missions with the X-Men. It would make far more sense if he was just wearing casual attire
Wolverine describes Venom as a wild animal? Venom was literally only hunting Peter in his early appearances and never attacked random people. It's like the writer knew nothing about Venom and just wanted him to get beaten by Wolverine (in his own issue)

Venom is a bad match up for Logan. People with flexible regenerating fluid like abilities are tough for him cause cutting doesn't do much and they can restrain him. What's not shown here is how much stronger and faster Venom is. Wolverine can beat people far outside his weight class but Venoms kit should give him the win virtually every time.

Logan cannot truly die, except by extreme means (ex. Cosmic influences or weapons that negate healing factors). KO’ed? Yes. Killed by Venom? Nope. Venom CAN DIE. Please read the Dark Carnage and the King in Black series, where the Venom symbiote was on the edge of death…several times.
Logan’s healing factor is the top 3 in the Marvel universe, along with Deadpool and Hulk. Venom’s is quite good, but doesn’t beat Logan’s.
Venom wins because the author dictates it. Otherwise, because of Logan’s weapons, martial arts experience, and long life and stamina, he can hold pretty well against Venom. It’s all about the story itself. Either could win 50/50.

His martial arts are pointless (Martial arts are not meant for fighting a tentacle monster), his healing is pointless, his experience is worth some but not much. Venom go full hentai with him and wrap him up where he can't move and suffocate him in every situation they fight. Only possible win is an ambush, which he can't do cause of Venoms version of spider senses. He can then just leave him in a volcano or buried in concrete or throw him into the ocean and leave. I'm not ignorant on Wolverine, in fact he's one of my favorite characters, and Venom is cool but not in my top 20. I just recognize obvious logical issues that people like this writer don't. Venom is just strong to someone like Wolverine.
I thought this was just a mental warfare between Venom and Logan and it made Venom doubt his actions.

Ok, but when did Venom get so weak? He has Logan vastly outclassed in everything but martial skill (maybe intelligence?).
The only way he’d win is by KO, which he didn’t go for on Logan. Stabbing and clawing him was never going to work.
Wolverine's constant rival is the Hulk. Venom has more adaptability sure but they're nowhere near Hulk's strength.

And yet wolverine not only has beaten the hulk before, but in his even weaker elderly state killed an entire civilization of hulk's, and that's not even counting the time they gave him a story line where he kills the entire marvel universe, cause Deadpool wasn't the only one that did that.
Your absolutely right about Wolverine not beating Venom. However, there's one more thing to be said. This wasn't a Victory where Logan won by pure might. It was a Victory earned by reason. If you can't beat em, talk em down the best you can.

You can have all the strength in the world, but it doesn't matter if any blows you deal heal up in seconds and your opponent can go on seemingly forever. Both venom and Wolverine having these abilities makes it so that neither will come out the victor even after they tear each other to shreds.

Answer is no. Venom has been shot time and time again and it does zero damage. At most it has stopped him briefly.
This is very early in Venoms career, it's hard to say honestly. This seems to suggest he's tanky, but with limits. Even then, he got up right after 🙄

Of course he can cut through the symbiote. He can cut clean through steal. Flesh is easy. He can destroy the host (brocks) organs. This forces the symbiote to focus its biomass to heal the host, this slows it down. With that said does wolverine alone have the ability to kill the host? Damage it beyond repair? No.
But he can slow venom down again again again. Venom cant kill wolverine either. The animantiam cant break, and wolverine heals from catastrophic injury.
These are 2 immovable objects.
So the only battles they could win over eachother is psychological or moral.
