ENG Sub - Homoto Akina and Uchida Shu joins Nijigasaki High School Idol Club

I subbed some highlights from the NijiGaku live stream from September 1, where Homoto Akina and Uchida Shu officially made their appearances as new members of the club (this was before they announced their new unit name). It might be a bit outdated now, but I still subbed it to hopefully let you guys learn more about the two of them.
Their ending speeches were particularly touching, especially Agupon's. It made me feel bad because I wasn't skilled enough to translate it properly, I hope you still got what she was trying to say in the end. My translations for their character introductions might also be a bit inaccurate because I'm bad at translating that kind of official stuff. Also, I didn't sub the portion where they introduce their characters because I didn't want to make the video too long and you can read their info anywhere, but here are some interesting things they pointed out:
- Shu-chan has the exact same height as Mia (156cm) and they both like hamburgers.
- Homin, on the other hand, is smaller than Lanzhu by around 12cm. She also mentioned that she personally likes Lanzhu's garter belt.
P.S. I do listen to Homin's Chinese lessons every week but I'm usually doing something else during those times so I barely learned anything. Please help me understand what she said in her Chinese lines.

And wow Agupon sure has come a long way huh? Still remember in their 1st Live Agupon express that while Nijigaku doesn't have a "Leader" like the usual group, Ayumu is still the face of Nijigaku and she felt pressure from that, now she can say some inspiring stuff and act confidently like a leader, very proud of her!
The R3BIRTH seiyuu have quickly turned out to be my favourite in the Niji Club so thanks a lot for the sub :)

Your mandarin translations were pretty accurate while Chunrun somehow managed to catch the spirit if it and made it cuter, no wonder why she is in charge of the global stuff :)

first of all, the mandarin translations were really good considering you haven't really learnt any mandarin! it's a hard language but i definitely felt like you translated it properly (this is coming from someone whos learning mandarin and.... its hard www).
second of all, agupons little speech at the end made me tear up a little, she definitely said some words there.

I never commented before but it seems I saw this video cause some comments were already liked by me, but I think it's just really cool having someone who grew up in Australia playing a native English speaker and a half-Chinese half-Japanese person playing a Chinese character

10:00 That's weird because from what I have heard(her livestreams) she doesn't speak Cantonese well at all. I believe she said it during the same stream.

That's what I heard from her streams as well so I was pretty confused while translating this. She even went into full detail about how little Cantonese she could speak before. Maybe she only said that to emphasize where she grew up in, or to show that she could speak something aside from Mandarin.
If not Cantonese I would assume Hakka. I have mixed those up from my mom's side of the family. My dad is half-Egyptian half-German. Pretty sure my mom's side of the family is fluent in Hakka but also knows some Cantonese
Now I'm curious why uchida didn't dub Mia herself

what does ardent type mean
Ardent means having strong feelings. I think she's described as an ardent type because she has really strong feelings towards school idols and her desire to reach her ideal self. I was about to translate 熱烈 as "passionate" but that sounds more associated to Karin.
