The current official ball weight of 2,7gr is STUPID DECISION OF CURRENT ITTF OFFICIALS. But there are allowed small deviation weight around the current official 2,7gr. So some balls can be a little more lightweight . But the main problem is that 2,7gr is stupid standard for table tennis. Plastic material or celluloid materials are no problem. Nothing is more entertaining than watching a final table-tennis match between two of the greatest table-tennis players the world have ever seen. Way to go Fan Zhendong. A slow start in the beginning of the year but you end it great!
What's more impressive in my opinion is the fact Fan actually returned that flick. Shots like that were suppose to leave the opponent with no time to react, almost guaranteeing the point if done successfully. The downside is that to make the flick as fast as possible, the commitment to the shot usually leaves the attacker out of position in the rare case that it does get hit back. Fan was able to return an incredibly high percentage of those flicks from Ma Long, one even from the backhand side. The reaction and muscle memory is simply insane. Ma Long now has to relies more on finesse than sheer power when faced with opponents such as Fan, as we can see from his increased frequency of chop blocks and spin-heavy counters. With the state FZD is in, I won't be surprise to see him at the top of the rankings for a very long time.

FZD used ML's injury weaknesses very well so clever. If XX's used that weakness he can also win against Ma Long. With this situation Ma Long can't win for Olympic 2020. He should juz take a long rest otherwise fully recover. After that comeback in Olympic 2020 to take a prize then should retire.
FZD is in his best shape at this moment. That would be epic to see him playing against Harimoto since he seems at his best on his last game against XX.
ML has slowed down quite a lot due to injuries and age. FZD is able to stay closer to the stable and pretty much block and counter ML down because of a better backhand. FZD has improved a lot in the subtle aspects of the game and is much more experience now. It's about time for ML to pass the torch down to FZD, maybe at or right after the upcoming olympics.
ML seems like losing some speed or not able to connect the stroke. It definetely impacts him when his normal winning strokes and placing get returns by FZD. Kudos to FZD as he got the best footwork currently in table tennis and willing to take the ball as low as psossible from behind the table to generate power. I reckon, Wang Hao did some good coaching to him.
there is no such excuses when you play the tournaments. If Ma Long thinks he is not fit he will not join. Will the opponent says you have injuries and I will play down my level? This is similar way Harimoto win Ma Long is to attack both wings where Ma Long cannot cover. In the interview Ma Long didn't say he lost because of injuries, he says Fan Zhendong made good progress.

ML has slowed down quite a lot due to injuries and age. FZD is able to stay closer to the stable and pretty much block and counter ML down because of a better backhand. FZD has improved a lot in the subtle aspects of the game and is much more experience now. It's about time for ML to pass the torch down to FZD, maybe at or right after the upcoming olympics.
FZD played amazingly well and better!
ML seems like losing some speed or not able to connect the stroke. It definetely impacts him when his normal winning strokes and placing get returns by FZD. Kudos to FZD as he got the best footwork currently in table tennis and willing to take the ball as low as psossible from behind the table to generate power. I reckon, Wang Hao did some good coaching to him.

there is no such excuses when you play the tournaments. If Ma Long thinks he is not fit he will not join. Will the opponent says you have injuries and I will play down my level? This is similar way Harimoto win Ma Long is to attack both wings where Ma Long cannot cover. In the interview Ma Long didn't say he lost because of injuries, he says Fan Zhendong made good progress.
How Wong a top player like Ma Long don’t blame losses on injury. He knows FZD has improved a lot now that Ma Longs peak is over. He respects it. Top class player I hope FZD can shut the annoying Harimoto up.

He's not wrong tho. Ma Long did have trouble because of his injuries. Of course, since Ma decided to play, there is no excuse for him and he won't blame the injuries. But as his fans, we're simply saying that we could see him having troubles while moving from corner to corner. Specially from his backhand corner to his wide forehand corner, that's all.

Fan looks chill at this game. He will dominant the game for a while.
Positionally Ma Long needs to adjust if he is hindered by injury, most top level pro's fire bullets on both sides and Ma Long is caught out. Mobility has improved since the World final tournament at the beginning of Dec. The form of Xu Xin was bizarrely poor in the semi ....maybe even he wants Ma Long to go out and represent China in the Olympics. FZD undoubted favourite, but Harimoto is improving fast as much as i hate to say it *great player when the volume is on mute*
